【発明が属する技術分野】
本発明は、本管に枝管を接続するのに用いるサドル継手やサービスチー継手など、本管側面に接合するサドル部を備え、熱可塑性樹脂製の本管に電気融着される電気融着サドル系継手に関する。

【従来技術】
図1は、サドル継手を示すもので、サドル部1と、枝管が接続されるスピゴット2とより構成され、一般には中密度又は高密度ポリエチレン製の成形品よりなっている。そして図示するように、熱可塑性樹脂よりなる本管3に電気融着するときには、サドル部座面を本管周側面に当て、その反対側(図1の下側)より本管3に当てた図示しないクランプ金具の掛け金を鍔部4に掛けてクランプしたのち、サドル部座面に埋設した電熱線に通電している。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
電気融着時において、サドル部座面は管周側面と密着させる必要がある。密着してないと、融着時に融着界面に気泡が発生したり、電熱線が動いて電熱線同志が接触し、ショートすることがあるためである。

しかしながらサドル部座面を管周側面にぴったりと密着するように形成するのは困難であると共に、ぴったりと密着するように形成できたとしてもサドル部の剛性が大であると、管に側方より押し込んで嵌合させる場合、嵌合が困難となる。そこで通常は、サドル部座面の曲率半径を管の外径より大に形成してクランプ金具でクランプするとき、サドル部を撓ませて管周側面に密着させるようにしているが、剛性が大である場合には、クランプしても撓みにくゝ、またサドル部より突設されるスピゴット或いは胴部の径が大で、スピゴット或いは胴部から鍔部までの長さが短いと、鍔部の撓み量も小さくなり、管周側面との密着性が悪くなる。

本発明は、サドル部の剛性が大であっても、またサドル部より突設されるスピゴット或いは胴部から鍔部までの長さが短くてもクランプしたときの鍔部の撓み量が大きくなるようにして管周側面との密着性を向上させることができる電気融着サドル継手を提供することを目的とする。

【課題の解決手段】
本発明は、樹脂管の周側面に接合する座面に電熱線を埋設したサドル部と、サドル部より突設されるか、或いはサドル部より突設される胴部より側方に突設され、枝管が接続されるスピゴットを有し、サドル部にはその両側にクランプ金具の掛け金が掛けられる鍔部を形成したサドル継手やサービスチー継手などの電気融着サドル系継手において、サドル部より突設される上記スピゴット或いは胴部の根元のうち、スピゴット或いは胴部における鍔部側部分の外側面周方向に一定範囲凹ませて窪みを形成したことを特徴とする。

スピゴット或いは胴部に片持ばり状に支持されるサドル部の鍔部に集中荷重を加えた場合、梁の長さに相当するスピゴットから鍔部までの長さが凹部により長くできるため、鍔部の撓み量も大きくなり、管周側面に密着し易くなる。

【発明の実施の形態】
図2及び図3は、サービスチー継手を示すもので、樹脂管に接合される座面に電熱線を埋設し、両側に鍔部11aを形成したサドル部11と、該サドル部11より突設され、図示しないホールソーが捩込まれる胴部12と、胴部12より側方に突設され、枝管が接続されるスピゴット13よりなり、サドル部11より突設される胴部の鍔部側の胴部根元、すなわちホールソーが捩込まれるネジ部15下のホールソー刃先が嵌合する小径部分の外側を一定範囲凹ませて窪み14を形成している。

図中、16は、図示しない電気融着のコネクターが差し込まれるターミナルであり、17は胴部上端に捩込まれるキャップである。

本実施形態によると、図2及び図3の一点鎖線で示すものよりも窪み14を形成したことにより鍔部11aまでの長さが長くなり、クランプ時に鍔11aに矢印方向の力Fを加えたときの鍔11aの内方への撓みが大となり、管に密着し易くなる。

【発明の効果】
本発明によると、サドル部の剛性が大であっても、またサドル部より突設されるスピゴット或いは胴部の径が大であっても、鍔部までの長さを長くできることによりクランプ金具の掛け金を鍔部に掛けてサドル部を管にクランプしたときの鍔部の撓み量を大きくすることができるため、サドル部座面を管に密着させることができる。またサドル部の肉厚を薄くすると、融着時の電熱線の発熱によりサドル部外面まで熱が伝わってサドル部が変形し易くなり、そのため界面圧力が低下し、融着強度が損なわれ易くなるが、本発明によると、サドル部の肉厚を大にして融着時にサドル部が変形しないようにし、上記の問題を解消することができる。

Claims (1)

  1. 樹脂管の周側面に接合する座面に電熱線を埋設したサドル部と、サドル部より突設されるか、或いはサドル部より突設される胴部より側方に突設され、枝管が接続されるスピゴットを有し、サドル部にはその両側にクランプ金具の掛け金が掛けられる鍔部を形成したサドル継手やサービスチー継手などの電気融着サドル系継手において、サドル部より突設される上記スピゴット或いは胴部の根元のうち、スピゴット或いは胴部における鍔部側部分の外側面周方向に一定範囲凹ませて窪みを形成したことを特徴とする電気融着サドル系継手。
