【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electromagnetic load driving device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As this type of prior art, for example, an injector driving device shown in FIG. 5 is known. In FIG. 5, a COM terminal is provided on the high side of a drive circuit (EDU: Electric Driver Unit) 200 and an INJ terminal is provided on the low side, and an

However, in the
[0004]
As a countermeasure against the above, it is considered to provide a current limiting
[0005]
The present invention has been made paying attention to the above-mentioned problems, and the object of the present invention is to properly detect the ground fault of the high-side terminal (COM terminal) and thus to protect the switching element. It is an object to provide an electromagnetic load driving device.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the first aspect of the present invention, when energy is stored in the energy storage element at any time and the second switching element is turned on together with the first switching element during driving of the electromagnetic load, the energy of the energy storage element is increased to the high side. It is supplied to the electromagnetic load through the terminal. In addition, after the second switching element is turned on, the third switching element is periodically turned on / off according to the energization current of the electromagnetic load, and a constant current based on the power supply voltage is supplied to the electromagnetic load via the high-side terminal. Is done. Thereby, the electromagnetic load is continuously driven in a predetermined period. Further, on the ground side of the energy storage element, a current flowing back through the ground when the energy storage element releases energy is detected (current detection means), and a ground fault of the high-side terminal is detected according to the detected current. (Ground fault detection means).
[0007]
In short, when the high-side terminal is grounded, a current larger than usual flows when the second switching element is turned on, because the electromagnetic load is disconnected. In this case, since the current recirculated through the ground increases when the energy storage element releases the energy, the ground fault of the high side terminal can be properly detected by the current. Note that, unlike the prior art provided with a current limiting circuit, the drive device of the present invention does not cause a voltage drop in the power supply path, and can be suitably driven even with an electromagnetic load for low voltage drive.
[0008]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, when a ground fault of the high-side terminal is detected by the ground fault detecting means, output of drive signals to the second and third switching elements is stopped, and energy supply to the electromagnetic load is performed. Stop operation. As a result, an excessive current does not flow through the second switching element and the third switching element, and it is possible to protect each of these switching elements.
[0009]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, every time an ON signal for driving an electromagnetic load is input to the first switching element, the ground fault detection result is reset, and ground fault detection is newly performed. As a result, when the ground fault of the high side terminal is temporary or when the ground fault is erroneously detected, the normal operation can be restored.
[0010]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, a series circuit of a power source, a booster coil and a ground is periodically interrupted, and energy generated at that time is stored in the energy storage element. In this case, the energy storage element is charged to a voltage higher than the power supply voltage and discharged to the electromagnetic load, thereby improving the response of the electromagnetic load.

In the invention of
[0012]
The present invention can be suitably embodied in a fuel injection control device for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine when the high-side terminal is a common terminal commonly connected to a plurality of injectors (Claim 6).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The present embodiment is embodied as a common rail type fuel injection system for a vehicle-mounted four-cylinder diesel engine. The high-pressure fuel accumulated in the common rail in the fuel injection system is supplied to the diesel engine as the injector is driven. Injection is supplied to each cylinder. Further, in the present embodiment, for the purpose of improving exhaust emission, multi-stage injection in which a plurality of fuel injection operations such as pilot injection and main injection are performed in multiple stages in one combustion stroke, and two injectors are driven simultaneously. Thus, multiple injections for performing fuel injection are performed.

[0024]
In actual operation, the transistor T12 or T22 is first turned on simultaneously with the rise of the injection signal, which is a drive command, and after a large current flows by supplying energy from the capacitors C10 and C20 as the drive current of the injectors 101 to 104, A constant current flows through the transistor T11 or T21, and the drive current is cut off as the injection signal falls. The diodes D11 and D21 are diodes for preventing wraparound from the COM1 and COM2 terminals, which are high potentials, to the + B side when energy is supplied to the capacitors C10 and C20.

Next, the basic operation in the present embodiment will be described with reference to the time chart of FIG. However, in FIG. 3, the operation of the first cylinder is taken as an example, and the operation of one fuel injection (for example, main injection) among the multi-stage injections is shown as a representative.

According to the embodiment described in detail above, the following effects can be obtained.
A current flowing back through the ground when the energy of the capacitors C10 and C20 is discharged is detected, and a ground fault of the COM1 and COM2 terminals is detected according to the detected current. When a ground fault is detected at the COM1 and COM2 terminals, the outputs of the transistors T11, T21, T12, and T22 on the COM1 and COM2 terminal sides are turned off. Accordingly, it is possible to properly detect the ground fault of the COM1 and COM2 terminals and to protect the transistors T11, T21, T12, and T22.
[0037]
Since the current detection resistor R00 incorporated in the DC-DC converter circuit is used to detect the current when the energy of the capacitor C10 is released, the above drive device can be realized without adding a new additional configuration as a current detection means.
[0038]
In addition to the above, the present invention can be embodied in the following forms.
In the above-described embodiment, when the ground fault of the COM1 and COM2 terminals is detected, the transistors T11, T21, T12, and T22 are always turned off. In addition, abnormality information is stored in the

Further, the present invention can be applied to other than the common rail type fuel injection device. In short, any electromagnetic load driving device that drives an electromagnetic load with high response and then drives it at a constant current can be embodied arbitrarily.
