Claims (1)
- 機関本体(E)には、その長手方向に沿って並列配置された複数の気筒(C 1 〜C 4 )と、その各気筒(C 1 〜C 4 )に対応した燃焼室天井面の一側に開口する吸気ポート(1 1 ,1 2 )と、同天井面の他側にそれぞれ開口し且つ気筒配列方向に並ぶ第1,第2排気ポート(2 1 ,2 2 )とが形成され、
前記複数の気筒(C 1 〜C 4 )の各第2排気ポート(2 2 )には、機関の低速運転域では閉弁し且つ高速運転域では開弁する開閉弁(20)が設けられ、
その各開閉弁(20)より上流側で各第2排気ポート(2 2 )と常時連通する、全気筒(C 1 〜C 4 )に対し共通の排気チャンバ(15)が、各気筒(C 1 〜C 4 )の第1,第2排気ポート(2 1 ,2 2 )に連なり且つ機関本体(E)の一側方に延出する排気管群の下側において、機関本体(E)の長手方向に沿って延びるように配設され、
各気筒(C 1 〜C 4 )の第1排気ポート(2 1 )の上流端には、その各気筒(C 1 〜C 4 )の排気行程で開弁する第1排気弁(7 1 )が設けられ、
また各気筒(C 1 〜C 4 )の第2排気ポート(2 2 )の上流端には、機関の高速運転域では前記第1排気弁(7 1 )と同様の開閉タイミングで開閉するが機関の低速運転域では各気筒(C1 〜C4 )の膨脹行程後半及び圧縮行程前半に開弁期間を持つ排気還流用開閉タイミングで開閉する第2排気弁(17 2 )が設けられることを特徴とする、排気還流装置付き内燃機関。
