【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image motion correction apparatus used for camera shake correction or the like of an image pickup apparatus, and more particularly to improve its performance.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, consumer video cameras (hereinafter referred to as “video movies”) have become smaller, lighter, and optical zooms have become higher in magnification. -Is one of the ordinary home appliances. However, on the other hand, downsizing, weight reduction, high zooming of optical zoom, and the spread of video movies to consumers who are not proficient in shooting are the problems of screen instability due to camera shake during shooting. Also generated. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, many video movies equipped with an image motion correction device have been developed and commercialized.
[0003]
As an image motion correction device of an imaging device, for example, an imaging unit including an imaging optical system and a solid-state imaging device is supported by a gimbal mechanism, and this is driven and controlled based on motion information of the imaging device itself obtained from an angular velocity sensor. There is a method of correcting the motion of the image ("Development of video camera image blur prevention technology" Television Society Technical Report Vol.11, No.28, pp19-24 (1987)).
[0004]
The above-described system is configured by a coil and a magnet based on motion information in the two directions of pitching and yawing obtained from an angular velocity sensor by rotatably supporting the imaging unit of the imaging device at the center of gravity by a gimbal mechanism. The captured image is stabilized by controlling the attitude of the imaging unit by the actuated actuator.
[0005]
As another example, a system that includes a variable apex prism in the front part of the image pickup optical system and that controls the movement of the image by information from the angular velocity sensor (“optical image stabilization system”). "The Institute of Television Engineers Technical Report Vol.17, No.5, pp15-20 (1993)).
[0006]
In the above method, two glass plates are connected with a bellows made of a special film, and a variable apex prism filled with a high refractive index liquid is provided in front of the solid-state image sensor. Based on the movement information of the image pickup device in the pitching and yawing directions obtained from the sensor, the optical axis of the incident light is bent by tilting the two glass plates of the variable apex prism in the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. This stabilizes the movement of the captured image.
[0007]
As another example, a frame for reading out only a part of the image on the solid-state image sensor as an output image is provided, and this frame is moved by changing the drive timing of the solid-state image sensor. There is a method for correcting movement.
The above-mentioned method uses a solid-state image sensor having a larger number of pixels than a standard solid-state image sensor conforming to the broadcasting system, and uses information on the movement of the imaging device in the pitching and yawing two directions obtained from the angular velocity sensor as the focus of the photographing lens Based on the distance, it is converted into the amount of movement of the image on the solid-state image sensor, and the drive timing of the solid-state image sensor is controlled based on this conversion result. By changing the (frame), the movement of the captured image is stabilized.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above-described conventional configuration, when the peripheral light amount when the reading position (frame) of the image from the solid-state image sensor is changed according to the movement of the captured image is deteriorated, a video camera equipped with a zoom lens having a variable zoom magnification However, there has been a problem that the unpleasantness of the photographed image increases due to a change in the light amount of the image at the time of photographing. In particular, in a video camera in which the zoom magnification has been increased, a solution to the above problem is increasingly required.
[0009]
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and restricts the motion correction performance for a subject in which the deterioration of the peripheral light amount is conspicuous, and further restricts the correction performance particularly when the zoom magnification is high, thereby reducing the peripheral light amount. It is an object of the present invention to provide an image motion correction apparatus that can perform shooting while suppressing the unsightly accompanying deterioration.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve this problem, the present invention detects a motion detection unit that detects a motion of an imaging device, an imaging optical system that includes a plurality of lens groups and has a variable focal length, and detects a focal length of the imaging optical system. A focal length detection unit that performs photoelectric conversion on an output of the imaging optical system, a motion correction unit that corrects a motion of a captured image caused by a motion of the imaging device, and A luminance signal discriminating means for discriminating the degree of uniformity by dividing the luminance signal into a plurality of areas; and a motion by the motion correcting means when the degree of uniformity of the luminance signal discriminated by the luminance signal discriminating means is a predetermined threshold value or less. And a shake correction signal generating means for limiting the correction.
[0011]
Such a configuration limits the motion compensation performance in the subject deterioration of peripheral light is conspicuous, and an object thereof is to provide an image motion compensation device capable of shooting with suppressed unsightly due to deterioration of the peripheral light amount.
[0012]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a motion detection means for detecting a motion of an imaging device, an imaging optical system that is configured by a plurality of lens groups and has a variable focal length, and a focal length of the imaging optical system. From the imaging device, a focal length detection unit for detecting, an imaging device for photoelectrically converting the output of the imaging optical system, a motion correction unit for correcting a motion of a captured image caused by a motion of the imaging device, and A luminance signal discriminating means for discriminating the luminance signal by dividing the luminance signal into a plurality of areas, and when the uniformity degree of the luminance signal discriminated by the luminance signal discriminating means is a predetermined threshold value or less, It has a shake correction signal generating means for restricting motion correction, and has an effect that it is possible to perform photographing while suppressing the unsightly accompanying deterioration of the peripheral light amount.
[0013]
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0014]
(Embodiment 1)
FIG. 1 is a block diagram of an image motion correction apparatus according to
[0015]
FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram for explaining the luminance uniformity degree determination in the luminance uniformity
[0016]
Regarding the image motion correction apparatus of the present embodiment configured as described above, the integration constant is changed in the step of performing the integration process on the output of the motion detection unit 8 as a process for limiting the movement of the camera shake correction. Processing will be described with reference to FIG.
[0017]
First, in step 201, data is fetched from the motion detector 8, and in step 202, integration constants, gains, and clip data are initialized. Next, when it is determined in step 203 that the variation degree of the luminance signal is equal to or greater than the threshold value (high contrast determination), the processing in steps 206 to 208 is performed based on the initial value set in step 202. . The operation of steps 206 to 208 will be described later.
[0018]
If it is determined in step 203 that it is equal to or less than the threshold value (low contrast determination), first, based on the focal length information detected in step 204 based on the focal length information from the focal
[0019]
In the next step 205, an integration constant that defines the frequency characteristics of the integration process (integration filter) when obtaining the movement amount of the imaging device (step 206) from the output of the motion detection unit 8 fetched into the shake correction signal generation unit 2. K is determined by the focal length of the
[0020]
This step has a function for calculating the integral constant K from the focal length or a table for defining the relationship between the focal length and the integral constant K. The integral constant K is determined by this function or table. The set value of the integral constant K that has been set to the value is determined to be the value determined in this step. As a result, in the subsequent step 206, the integration process is performed using the integration constant reset in step 205 instead of the initial value of the integration constant set in step 202.
[0021]
Thus, when the uniformity of the luminance signal is below the threshold value, that is, when the contrast is low, the integration constant of the integration process (step 206) is set to be smaller than the set value of the integration constant during normal camera shake correction, If the time constant is further reduced according to the focal length, the time constant of the integration process can be set short, and thus the gain for the low frequency component of the integration process can be reduced.
[0022]
As described above, in the present embodiment, when the imaging signal has a low contrast, the time constant of the integration unit in the shake correction signal generation unit 2 is changed based on both the determination result by the determination unit of the luminance signal and the integration process. By changing the response characteristics, it is possible to prevent the deterioration of the peripheral light amount during shake correction.
[0023]
(Embodiment 2)
Hereinafter, an image motion correction apparatus according to Embodiment 2 of the present invention will be described. Since the present embodiment is different from the first embodiment only in the processing contents in the shake correction signal generation unit 2, the operation will be described below based on the processing in the motion correction signal generation unit 2. The basic configuration is shown in the block diagram of FIG. The flowchart of FIG. 4 differs from FIG. 3 in step 305 in which a gain corresponding to the focal length calculated in step 204 is determined.
[0024]
The operation of the configuration of the present embodiment configured as described above will be described below.
[0025]
First, in step 201, motion data is taken in from the motion detector 8, and in step 202, integration constants, gains, and clips are initialized. Next, the degree of variation of the luminance signal is determined in step 203, and if it is determined that it is equal to or higher than a preset threshold value (high contrast), steps 206 to 208 are performed based on the initial value set in step 202. Is performed.
[0026]
If it is determined in step 203 that it is equal to or less than the threshold value (low contrast), first, in step 204, the zoom magnification of the
[0027]
In the next step 305, the gain G in the gain adjustment for the movement of the image pickup apparatus obtained from the output of the movement detection means 8 taken in the shake correction signal generation unit 2 (step 207) is set as the focal length of the
[0028]
This step has a function that calculates the gain G from the focal length or a table that defines the relationship between the focal length and the gain G. The gain G is determined by this function or table, and is set to the initial value in step 202. The set value of the gain G that has been set is determined to be the value determined in this step.
[0029]
As a result, in the subsequent step 207, the gain adjustment is performed using the gain reset in step 305 instead of the initial gain value set in step 202.
[0030]
As described above, when the uniformity degree of the luminance signal is equal to or smaller than the threshold value, the gain at the time of gain adjustment (step 207) is set smaller than the gain setting value at the time of normal camera shake correction, and further according to the focal length. When set to a small value, the control signal itself sent from the shake correction signal generator 2 to the
[0031]
As described above, in the present embodiment, when the imaging signal has a low contrast, the shake correction signal generator 2 changes the response characteristics based on both the discrimination result by the brightness signal discrimination means and the gain adjustment. It is possible to prevent the peripheral light amount from deteriorating during correction.
[0032]
(Embodiment 3)
Hereinafter, an image motion correction apparatus according to
[0033]
The operation of the image motion correction apparatus of the present embodiment configured as described above will be described below.
[0034]
First, in step 201, data is fetched from the motion detector 8, and in step 202, integration constants, gains, and clips are initialized. Next, the degree of variation of the luminance signal is determined in step 203, and if it is determined that the degree of variation is equal to or greater than the threshold value (high contrast), the processing in steps 206 to 208 is performed based on the initial value set in step 202. Is done. If it is determined in step 203 that the value is equal to or less than the threshold value (low contrast), first, the zoom magnification of the
[0035]
In the next step 405, a clip value C for performing the clip processing is determined so that the output of the shake correction signal generation unit 2 does not exceed the correction range of the

This step has a function for calculating the clip value C from the focal length or a table for defining the relationship between the focal length and the clip value C. The clip value C is determined by this function or table. The set value of the clip value C that has been set to the value is determined to be the value determined in this step.
[0037]
As a result, in the subsequent step 208, the clip processing is performed using the clip value reset in step 405 instead of the initial value of the clip value set in step 202.
[0038]
As described above, when the luminance signal uniformity degree is equal to or lower than the threshold value, the clip value of the clip process is set smaller than the set value of the clip value at the time of normal camera shake correction, and is further reduced according to the focal length. The width of the control signal sent from the shake correction signal generator 2 to the
[0039]
As described above, in the present embodiment, when the imaging signal has a low contrast, the response characteristics of the control signal are changed based on both the determination result by the luminance signal determination unit and the clip processing, and the periphery at the time of shake correction Deterioration of the amount of light can be prevented.
[0040]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, there is an excellent effect that it is possible to prevent the deterioration of the peripheral light amount at the time of shake correction when the imaging signal has a low contrast.
