BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a toothed roller having teeth on the outer periphery, which is point-contacted with a recording surface of a recording material and is driven to rotate by nipping the recording material with a paper discharge driving roller that is rotationally driven. About. The present invention also relates to a paper discharge device including the toothed roller and an ink jet recording apparatus including the paper discharge device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In the ink jet recording apparatus, the printing paper on which ink droplets are ejected by the ink jet recording head is urged toward the paper ejection driving roller that is rotationally driven, and the printing surface of the printing paper The paper is nipped by a paper discharge driven roller that rotates in contact with the paper, and the paper is discharged downstream.
[0003]
Here, since the printing surface is in an undried state when the printing surface passes through the paper discharge driven roller, the paper discharge driven roller has a structure as shown in FIG. A
[0004]
Conventionally, as shown in FIG. 22 (B), the
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Here, when the recording material is an optical disc, if the discharge driven roller makes strong contact with the printing surface (label surface) of the optical disc, the data recording area immediately below the printing surface (label surface) is rarely destroyed. There is. Therefore, at the time of recording on the optical disc, the user needs to retract the discharge driven roller upward so that the discharge driven roller does not contact the printing surface (label surface) of the optical disc. However, the user does not perform the operation. There was a risk of recording.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and an object of the present invention is to prevent the user from performing recording on the optical disk without retracting the discharge driven roller upward, and directly below the printing surface of the optical disk. It is to reliably protect a certain data storage area.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, a first aspect of the present invention includes a feed drive roller that is rotationally driven, and a feed that is biased toward the feed drive roller and that is driven and rotated in contact with the feed drive roller. A paper discharge frame comprising a driven roller, the feed driven roller, and a contact posture in which the feed driven roller is brought into contact with the feed drive roller, and a separating posture in which the feed driven roller is separated from the feed drive roller; In the paper discharge frame, an engaging portion that protrudes from the feed driven roller toward the feed driving roller is provided outside a recordable area of a recording head that records on a recording material. When the conveyance tray on which the recording material is set is manually fed from the downstream side to the upstream side of the feed driving roller when the frame is in the contact posture, the conveyance tray A portion outside the recording area is in contact with the engaging portion, and the paper discharge frame is changed to the separation posture in which the feeding driven roller does not contact the recording surface of the recording material set on the transport tray. A discharge device for discharging a recording material by rotating the feed driving roller.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the engaging portion is configured by a roller that rotates in contact with the transport tray.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the paper discharge device according to the first or second aspect, the feed driven roller is in point contact with the recording surface of the recording material and has teeth on the outer periphery. An attached roller, wherein the teeth are formed so as to have a bilaterally symmetric shape when viewed from the conveying direction of the recording material.
[0009]
Here, when the teeth of the toothed roller are formed to have a symmetrical shape when viewed from the conveyance direction of the recording material, even if the teeth bite into the recording surface of the recording material, The toothed roller does not run out. Therefore, this prevents the teeth from scratching the recording surface, thereby making it possible to minimize the traces of the toothed rollers and to obtain higher print quality even in high-quality printing that realizes photographic image quality. Can do.
[0010]
Further, when the teeth of the toothed roller have a tapered shape, the cross-sectional area of the tip portion of the teeth is reduced, the contact area with the recording surface is reduced, and ink droplets adhere to other portions. It is possible to minimize the problem and the so-called white spot problem in which the ink droplets in contact with the teeth disappear. As a tooth shape of such a toothed roller, a quadrangular pyramid shape, a triangular pyramid shape, or a conical shape can be employed.
[0015]
An ink jet recording apparatus according to a fourth aspect of the present invention is a recording apparatus including an ink jet recording head that performs recording by ejecting ink droplets onto a recording material. A paper discharge device according to any one of the first to third aspects is provided. According to this aspect, since the paper discharge device according to any one of the first to third aspects is provided, the same effect as that of any of the first to third aspects described above can be obtained in the recording apparatus. Can be obtained.

As described above, the second paper discharge driven

Therefore, in the printer 1, by increasing the outer diameter dr of the second paper discharge driven

Thus, within the ink fixing time Tc, the paper feeding step is
(Tc / (Tf + Tp)) (times)
Therefore, the cut sheet P within the ink fixing time Tc is
(Tc / (Tf + Tp)) × Fp (mm)
Only paper is fed. Therefore, this is the minimum value required for the outer peripheral length Lp of the second paper discharge driven
Lp ≧ (Tc / (Tf + Tp)) × Fp (mm)
It becomes.

Note that it is desirable to set the main scanning time Tp and the ink fixing time Tc to be small in consideration of safety. Therefore, if the outer diameter dr of the second paper discharge driven

Next, a more specific control method at the time of executing printing will be described with reference to FIGS. Here, FIG. 12 is a flowchart of print control in the printer 1, FIG. 13 is a modified example (another embodiment), FIG. 14 is a flowchart of margin feed control, and FIG. 15 is a print control shown in FIG. It is explanatory drawing which shows the state of the cut sheet paper P during execution. The print control shown in FIGS. 12 and 13 is stored as a control program in a storage device (not shown) and executed by the control unit 8 (see FIG. 6).

On the other hand, when margin feed is executed (for example, the print area A shown in FIG. 10B).1At the end of printing), margin feed control is executed in step S205. Here, the margin feeding control is executed when the paper feeding process is continuously performed to form the margin portion, and before the ink transferred to the second paper ejection driven

In the margin
[0059]
Next, returning to FIG. 12, in a state where printing is completed, more specifically, in a state where all of the ink ejection is completed (affirmative branch in step S206), the cut sheet P is, for example, as shown in FIG. It is in a state. In FIG. 15A, the printing surface on the downstream side (right side) from the
[0060]
Next, it is determined whether or not the lower end margin Le (mm) is larger than the outer peripheral length Lp of the second paper discharge driven roller 31 (step S209). If the lower end margin Le is smaller than the outer peripheral length Lp ( The negative branch of step S209), the feed speed is set to Vf (high speed) (step S211), and the paper discharge feed {circle around (2)} which is the final paper discharge of the cut sheet P is executed (step S212). On the other hand, if the lower end margin Le is larger than the outer peripheral length Lp (affirmative branch of step S209: the state as shown in FIG. 15B), there is a risk of ink transfer, so the second speed remains at the low speed (speed Vs). 2. Paper feeding is performed until the paper discharge driven
[0061]
After that, the feed speed is set to Vf (high speed) (step S211), and the final sheet discharge of the cut sheet P is performed (step S212). Thereby, even when the bottom margin of the cut sheet P is large, after ink transfer does not occur and there is no risk of ink transfer (after the state shown in FIG. 15C), Paper is discharged quickly by feeding paper at high speed.
[0062]
In the above, ink transfer is prevented by continuing slow paper feeding from the state shown in FIG. 15B, but as shown in FIG. It is also possible to place a waiting time once in this state and then discharge the paper at a high speed. More specifically, in FIG. 13, the process up to step S309 is the same as in FIG. If it is determined that the lower end margin Le is larger than the roller outer peripheral length Lp, a waiting time is set for the time Tw (step S210), and then the feed speed is set to Vf (high speed) (step S311). Then, the cut sheet P is finally discharged. Here, as the time Tw, a value obtained by subtracting the time (peripheral length Lp / paper feed speed Vf) in which the second paper discharge driven
The print control described above is an example, and any control method may be used as long as the time for which the second paper discharge driven
