本発明は、溶鋼の真空精錬を行うための真空脱ガス槽に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
真空脱ガス法には、RH法、DH法がある。RH法もDH法も、溶鋼の吸い上げ機構が違うだけで、溶鋼を真空槽内に吸い上げ真空精錬を行う点は全く同一であるので、ここでは、RH法について説明する。

図5は、RH式真空脱ガス装置の概要図である。1が真空脱ガス槽であり、その上部に排気管20が形成され、その下部に2本の浸漬管3a、3bを有している。この2本の浸漬管3a、3bを溶鋼鍋4の溶鋼5内に浸漬し、排気管20から真空脱ガス槽1内部のガスを吸引して、真空脱ガス槽1内部を真空にする。そして、大気圧との圧力差によって、溶鋼5を浸漬管3aを介して真空脱ガス槽1内部に吸い上げるとともに、浸漬管3aから不活性ガスであるArガスGを真空脱ガス槽1内部に吹込む。これにより、溶鋼5を浸漬管3a→真空脱ガス槽1内部→浸漬管3bの経路で矢印2の向きに循環させ、前記ArガスGにより溶鋼5を真空脱ガス槽1内部で攪拌、混合させ、溶鋼5の脱炭、脱ガス、脱酸及び介在物の浮上を行わせて、溶鋼の精錬を実施するものである。

図3において、10は槽本体であり、上部槽11、下部槽12、上蓋13で構成されている。上部槽11と下部槽12及び上部槽11と上蓋13はそれぞれフランジにより接合されている。そして、下部槽12の下部に浸漬管3aと3bが取り付けられている。また、槽本体10の上部に排気管20が接続されている。排気管20は、上部槽11の側部に、槽本体10の軸に直角に接続されており、その内径はその管軸方向において同一である。20aは接続フランジであり、排気装置(図示せず)に接続している。

しかし、上記のような真空脱ガス槽においては、溶鋼精錬中、真空脱ガス槽1の内部のガスを排気管20を経由して排気装置によって吸引する際に、精錬中発生するスプラッシュの一部が、排気管20に流入し、排気管20の内壁に地金8として付着、成長する。この排気管20への地金8の付着は、圧力損失を増大させ、ガスの円滑な吸引を阻害し、充分な溶鋼の精錬が行えなくなるという問題を引き起こす。

このような問題を解決するものとして、実開平3−67051号公報に開示された装置がある。これは、真空排気系から切り離されて待機位置に移動させた真空脱ガス槽の槽固定側ダクト(前記排気管に相当)に対向させて、真空脱ガス槽旋回テーブル上にダスト除去装置を配設したものである。

しかしながら、前記装置は、地金が排気管の内壁に付着した後、地金を除去するものであり、地金の付着を積極的に防止するものではない。また、前記除去装置は、台車にエアブレーカーを乗せて軌条上を走行するものであり、装置が大掛かりになり、設備コストが嵩むという問題がある。

そこで、排気管の内壁への地金の付着を積極的に防止するものとして、特開平10−17919号公報に記載された真空脱ガス槽がある。

この真空脱ガス槽は、図4に示すように、排気管21の内壁の下部21bが、槽本体10に近づくにつれて低くなるように傾斜しているものである。これによって、槽本体10の内壁からの輻射熱が排気管21の下部内壁21bに直接入射し、排気管下部内壁21bを高温にするため、排気管21に付着しようとするスプラッシュが凝固することなく流動状態のまま、下り傾斜を流下して槽本体10の内部に落下し、付着地金となり難いというものである。なお、21aは排気装置に接続するための接続フランジである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、特開平10−17919号公報に記載の真空脱ガス槽においては、排気管21の下部内壁21bが槽本体10の内壁からの輻射熱を直接受け続けることにより、その熱負荷で排気管下部内壁21bの耐火物が損耗するという問題がある。

また、排気管21が槽本体10に接続している付近では、排気管下部内壁21bの高さ方向の位置が相当低くなるので、上蓋13の内面に飛散した溶鋼が溶鋼滴となって落下する際に、排気管下部内壁21bと衝突する速度が大きくなり、下部内壁20bの耐火物が損耗しやすくなるという問題もある。

本発明は、上記の問題を解決するためになされたものであり、排気管内壁への地金の付着を低減するとともに、槽本体の内壁からの輻射熱や上蓋からの溶鋼滴による排気管内壁の耐火物の損耗を防止できる真空脱ガス槽を提供することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の課題を解決するために、本発明は以下の特徴を有する。

[1] 槽本体の上部に排気管が接続され、槽本体の下部に浸漬管が取り付けられた真空脱ガス槽において、前記排気管の槽本体への接続部と前記排気管の最初のフランジ部との間は、前記排気管の下部内壁が、前記槽本体から遠ざかるにつれて低くなるように傾斜しているとともに、前記排気管の断面積が、前記槽本体から遠ざかるにしたがい同じかもしくは大きくなっていることを特徴とする真空脱ガス槽。

さらに、排気管15の断面積が脱ガス槽本体10から遠ざかるほど大きくなっているので、仮に、排気管下部内壁15bの下り傾斜を流下するスプラッシュの一部が途中で凝固して排気管下部内壁15bに付着したとしても、ガスの円滑な吸引に必要な断面積は確保され、溶鋼の精錬作業に支障をきたすことはない。

本発明の真空脱ガス槽は、排気管の下部内壁が、槽本体から遠ざかるにつれて低くなるように傾斜しているので、排気管内壁への地金の付着を低減できるとともに、脱ガス槽内壁からの輻射熱や上蓋からの溶鋼滴による耐火物の損耗を防止することができる。
