本発明は、空調装置内に生じた結露を除去するようにした車両用空調装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、冷房運転により発生した結露を、ヒータの発熱により乾燥し、除去するようにした装置が知られている(例えば特許文献1参照)。これによれば空気吹出口のルーバーにヒータを組み込み、冷房運転の終了後、一定時間だけヒータに通電し、ルーバーおよびその周囲のハウジングに付着した結露を除去する。

上述した装置は、冷房運転終了後、一定時間だけヒータに通電するため、蒸発した暖かい空気が車室内に進入し、乗員の空調快適性を損なう。

本発明による車両用空調装置は、乗員の有無を検出する乗員検出手段と、空調装置内に生じた結露をブロアからの送風によって除去する結露除去手段と、冷房運転の終了後、乗員検出手段により乗員の存在が検出されると、ブロアを停止することなく、空調装置からの空気が乗員に当たらないように結露除去手段による結露除去動作を制限して行い、乗員検出手段により乗員の不存在が検出されると、制限を解除して結露除去動作を促進するように結露除去手段を制御する結露制御手段とを備えることを特徴とする。
また、乗員の有無を検出する乗員検出手段と、空調装置内に生じた結露をヒータの発熱によって除去する結露除去手段と、冷房運転の終了後、乗員検出手段により乗員の存在が検出されると、結露除去手段による結露除去動作を制限して行い、乗員検出手段により乗員の不存在が検出されると、制限を解除して結露除去動作を促進するように結露除去手段を制御する結露制御手段とを備えることを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
−第1の実施の形態−
以下、図1〜図3を参照して本発明による車両用空調装置の第1の実施の形態について説明する。
図1は、第1の実施の形態に係わる車両用空調装置の概略構成を示す図である。第1の実施の形態では、ブロワ11からの送風により空調装置内に生じた結露を除去する。すなわちブロワ11の回転によりダクト12、エバポレータ13、ダクト14を介し、ベント吹出口などの吹出口15から空気を吹き出すとともに、エバポレータ13や吹出口15のルーバー15aなどに付着した結露を乾燥させる。

赤外線センサ21は、乗員の身体から発せられる赤外線を検出するものであり、その検知範囲にシート16を含むように取り付けられる。具体的には、例えば図2(a)に示すようにAピラー17の上端部、または図2(b)に示すように車室内の天井部18に装着される。これにより運転席の乗員の有無を検知する。

図3は、第1の実施の形態に係わる空調制御装置10で実行される処理の一例を示すフローチャートである。このフローチャートは、例えばメインスイッチ22のオンによりスタートする。まず、ステップS1で通常の空調運転を実行する。この場合、空調制御装置10は、ブロワ11だけでなくコンプレッサや上述した各種空調用ドアにも制御信号を出力し、車室内温度が温度設定ダイヤルなどにより設定された設定温度となるようにファン風量、吹出風温度、吸気モード、吹出モード等を制御する。なお、この種の空調運転は周知であり、詳細な説明は省略する。

メインスイッチ22をオンし、エンジンを始動すると、通常の空調運転を実行する(ステップS1)。すなわちエアコンスイッチのオン/オフや温度調整ダイヤルの操作等の乗員の空調指令に応じ、コンプレッサの回転、ブロワの回転を制御するとともに、各種空調用ドアの駆動を制御する。冷房運転の実行後、メインスイッチ22をオフし、エンジンを停止すると、通常の空調運転(冷房運転)が終了し、コンプレッサおよびブロワ11の回転が停止する。このとき、冷房運転により生じた結露が空調装置内(例えばエバポレータ13や吹出口15)に付着する。この状態で赤外線センサ21により運転席の乗員の存在が検出されると、ブロワ11は停止状態を維持する(ステップS5)。これにより冷房運転の終了後に、乗員に湿った空気が送風されることはなく、空調快適性を維持できる。

(3)ブロワ11からの送風により空調装置内の結露を除去するので、結露除去手段を新たに設ける必要がなく、部品点数の増加を抑えることができる。

図4、図5を参照して本発明による車両用空調装置の第2の実施の形態について説明する。
第1の実施の形態では、ブロワ11からの送風により空調装置内の結露を除去するうにしたが、第2の実施の形態では、ヒータの発熱により結露を除去するように構成する。

第1の実施の形態では、ブロワ運転により結露を除去するのに要する時間t1を予め設定し、ヒータ運転を開始してから所定時間t1経過後にブロワ運転を停止するようにした。すなわち所定時間t1の経過により結露の除去を推定するようにした。これに対して第3の実施の形態では、結露の除去を検出し、結露の除去後にブロワ運転を停止するように構成する。

図7は、第3の実施の形態に係わる空調制御装置10で実行される処理の一例を示すフローチャートである。なお、図3と同一の処理には同一の符号を付し、以下ではその相違点を主に説明する。ステップS6でブロワ11を運転すると、ステップS21に進み、赤外線センサ24による検出値を読み込む。次いで、ステップS22で赤外線センサ24で検出されたルーバー15aの温度に基づき空調装置内の結露が除去されたか否かを判定する。この場合、空調装置内に結露があると気化熱により空気温度が低下するため、検出温度は低い。これに対し、空調装置内の結露が除去されると、空気温度が上昇し、検出温度は例えば所定温度T1より高くなる。そこで、ステップS22では、検出温度と所定温度T1とを比較し、検出温度が所定温度T1より高い場合に結露が除去されたと判定し、検出温度が所定温度T1以下のとき結露が除去されていないと判定する。なお、検出温度の上昇率が一定以上となったときに結露の除去と判定するよにしてもよい。また、検出温度の上昇後、検出温度が安定したときに結露の除去と判定するようにしてもよい。ステップS22で結露が除去されたと判定されるとステップS9に進み、ブロワ11を停止する。ステップS22で結露が除去されていないと判定されるとステップS21に戻る。
