[0040]
For example, when equalizing the amplitudes of the excitation waves that are branched and output from the opposing portions of the stubs, the branching rate is set to be larger as the stubs in the subsequent stage are considered in consideration of the loss due to the branching in the previous stage. This is because the lengths L1 to L3 are constant and the width is gradually increased as W1 <W2 <W3, or the widths W1 to W3 are constant and the length is gradually increased as L1 <L2 <L3. Alternatively, it can be realized by gradually increasing the width and length such that W1 <W2 <W3 and L1 <L2 <L3.

In addition, the phase of the excitation wave branched and output from the opposing part of each stub depends on the stub interval Q, and the phase distribution characteristic of the entire excitation wave can be arbitrarily set by this interval Q.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the dielectric leaky wave antenna of the present invention, a parallel plate line is provided by providing a pair of line metal strips facing in parallel with a dielectric substrate sandwiched between a leakage metal strip and a ground plane conductor. The stubs are provided at predetermined intervals on the side edges of the pair of line metal strips, and the electromagnetic waves fed to the parallel plate lines are branched and excited in a direction crossing the leakage metal strip.
[0099]
For this reason, an excitation part can be integrated with a dielectric substrate and the whole antenna can be reduced in size. Further, since the metal strip for a line and the stub can be formed by printing or etching simultaneously with the metal strip for leakage and the ground plane conductor, it can be manufactured easily and inexpensively with a small number of processes, and mass production becomes possible.
[0100]
Further, in the case where the stub is formed in a strip shape having a predetermined width and extending from the side edge of the line metal strip in a direction orthogonal to the line metal strip and provided at a predetermined period, the width and length of the stub are provided. Depending on the length and spacing, any characteristic can be obtained.
[0101]
In addition, each side edge of the metal strip for line has a notch for reflection suppression having a width substantially equal to a value obtained by subtracting the width of the stub from ¼ of the in-line wavelength of the electromagnetic wave in the parallel plate line and a predetermined depth. In the case of being provided at a position adjacent to the stub, the reflection component due to the stub can be suppressed, and the efficiency of the excitation unit can be increased.
[0102]
In addition, if the width of the metal strip for the line is formed so that its width is gradually reduced, and the stub is provided at a position where the width changes, the power at the end is supplied to the metal strip for leakage without waste. Can be efficient.
[0103]
In addition, a metal strip for leakage is provided in a case having a reflection wall that reflects the electromagnetic wave branched to the side opposite to the side where the metal strip for leakage is provided by the stub to the side where the metal strip for leakage is provided. Electromagnetic waves branched off to the opposite side can be used effectively, and the efficiency is increased.
[0104]
Also, a shield plate that shields electromagnetic waves that are directly radiated from a parallel plate line to a space, with one end connected to a reflecting wall or ground plane conductor and the other end extending to face the metal strip for the line on the opposite side of the dielectric substrate With this, it is possible to prevent the disturbance of characteristics due to the direct radiation component from the parallel plate line.
[0105]
Also, it is arranged on the opposite side of the dielectric substrate so as to face the metal strip for the line, and the phase and amplitude of the electromagnetic wave directly radiated from the parallel plate line to the space is matched with the electromagnetic wave leaked by the leaking metal strip. With a radiation plate that radiates, the effective aperture area of the entire antenna can be increased, and the efficiency is increased.
[0106]
In addition, in the case where the excitation part is provided at substantially the center part of the dielectric substrate and the plurality of leakage metal strips are provided on both sides of the excitation part, the electromagnetic waves branched from the excitation part can be effectively leaked out. Can do.
[0107]
Further, when the stub is provided on both side edges of the pair of line metal strips, the excitation wave having the same amplitude can be branched to the leakage metal strips on both sides.
[0108]
Further, the stub provided on one side edge of the pair of line metal strips is set to be approximately ½ of the in-line wavelength of the electromagnetic wave propagating in the parallel plate line with respect to the stub provided on the other side edge. If they are shifted by the same distance, the phases of the excitation waves branched to both sides can be made equal, and the metal strips for leakage on both sides can be formed symmetrically.
[0109]
Further, in the case where the parallel plate line is configured to propagate the electromagnetic wave fed from almost the center to both ends, the loss in the parallel plate line can be reduced and the efficiency is increased as compared with the edge feed.
[0110]
Further, when the ground plane conductor is configured to be in close contact with the one surface side of the dielectric substrate at a position facing the leakage metal strip without any gap, the thickness of the antenna body can be reduced.
[0111]
Further, when the ground plane conductor is opposed to the one surface side of the dielectric substrate with the low dielectric constant layer containing air interposed therebetween, the conductor loss of the dielectric line is reduced, and the efficiency at a high frequency is improved.
