本発明は、ICなどのデバイスやそれらを搭載した複合部品などのチップ部品を、着脱自在なソケットなどの保持体に装着する部品装着方法に関するものである。

従来の部品装着方法について、チップ部品と実装用ソケットを使用する例について図面を用いて説明する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら前記の方法では、チップ部品21が小型軽量サイズであるため、例えば図10,図11に示すような装着不具合を発生させる。

図10は装着不具合の一例を示しており、チップ部品21が小型軽量であるため両側からの電極用のバネ24の加圧により浮き上がって正常に保持できていない状態となっている。

図11も同じく他の装着不具合との比較例であり、図11(a)は正常な装着状態を、そして図11(b)は装着不具合状態を示している。すなわち、図11(b)ではチップ部品21の位置ずれにより電極22と電極23の係合が良好に行われず、図11(a)に示す正規の空間25cとはならずに、片寄った空間25bが発生している。

本発明は前記課題を解決しようとするものであり、チップ部品を簡単で確実に、そして効率よくソケットなどの保持体に装着する部品装着方法を提供することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記課題を解決するために本発明の部品装着方法は、少なくとも2つ以上の電極を有したチップ部品を、チップ部品の電極と係合する電極を有したソケットなどの保持体にチップ部品を装着する方法であり、前記保持体を挿通する貫通孔を有したフレーム形状の補助部材に前記チップ部品を粘着テープなどで固定し、保持体と少なくとも1つ以上の端面を係合させ、嵌め込んでチップ部品を保持体に装着する方法としたものである。

これにより、保持体の所定の上面に装着する際、補助部材の重量が重畳され、またフレーム端面での位置合せにより、簡単で確実に、かつ効率よく装着することができ、装着性を向上させることが可能となる。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の請求項1に記載の発明は、保持体を挿通させる貫通孔を有する板状の補助部材に、粘着テープにより少なくとも2つ以上の電極を有するチップ部品を当該チップ部品の重心を当該補助部材の重心と一致させて支持固定し、上記チップ部品に上記補助部材の重量を重畳させ、上記チップ部品と上記補助部材の総重量により、上記チップ部品の電極と上記保持体の電極とが係合する上記保持体の所定の上面に、上記チップ部品を装着する方法としたものであり、チップ部品の取扱いが容易で確実に保持体に載置し装着できるという作用を有する。

図1,図2において1はチップ部品であり、前記において図7により説明した構造と同じで、内部にICなどのデバイスやそれらを内蔵あるいは搭載しており、そのチップ部品1は両側端に導電性の金属材などでなる電極2を計6個設けたアルミナなどのセラミック材料でなる本体部9などで構成されており、また、このチップ部品1の外形寸法(W×L×T)は約7×9×2mm、そして総重量が約500mgと小型軽量サイズである。3はチップ部品1の電極2と係合する導電性の金属材などでなる電極であり、コイル状あるいは板状などの電極用のバネ4を介して絶縁体の樹脂材などでなる保持体であるソケット5を構成する本体部5aに、各々内側に付勢されて接続固定している。

また、図1に示すように粘着テープ11の長手方向であるソケット5の外形の一辺の長さと、それと対応するフレーム12に設けた貫通孔8の一辺の長さとのクリアランスが、各々金型などを使用した高精度生産品であるために小さく、フレーム12の貫通孔8の一つの端面(図1における上部)、すなわち粘着テープ11の長手方向に対して垂直となる端面を、ソケット5の端面に合致させてチップ部品1とフレーム12の位置決めを行っており、したがって、電極2と電極3の係合を容易に精度良くかつ確実にでき、結線あるいは接続ミスを無くすことができる。

なお、本実施の形態1では、フレーム12の形状を四角形としたが円形であっても三角形や五角形のような多角形であっても、ソケット5と貫通孔8とのクリアランスが小さく、ほぼチップ部品1の中心部にその重量(重心)が作用するものであればよい。

以上のように本発明による部品装着方法は、少なくとも2つ以上の電極を有した面実装形などのチップ部品を、チップ部品の電極と係合する電極を有したソケットなどの保持体にチップ部品を装着する方法であって、保持体を挿通する貫通孔を有したフレーム形状の補助部材に前記チップ部品に固定し、保持体と少なくとも1個所以上の端面を係合させて嵌め込み、チップ部品を保持体に装着することにより、チップ部品を所定の位置に効率よく、簡単にかつ確実に装着することができるという効果を有する。

As described above, in the component mounting method according to the present invention, a chip component such as a surface mount type having at least two or more electrodes is mounted on a holder such as a socket having an electrode that engages with the electrode of the chip component.
