Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a stator assembly, and more particularly to a torque converter stator assembly disposed between an impeller and a turbine.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The torque converter is a device that has an impeller, a turbine, and a stator inside, and transmits power by filled hydraulic fluid. The hydraulic oil flows from the impeller to the turbine at the outer peripheral portion of the torque converter, and flows from the turbine to the impeller through the stator at the inner peripheral portion of the torque converter.
[0003]
The stator is a member disposed between the impeller and the turbine, and is fixed to the stator shaft via a one-way clutch. The stator shaft is fixed to the transmission housing. This stator is manufactured by casting with resin, aluminum alloy, or the like, and mainly includes an annular shell, an annular core, and a plurality of blades formed between the shell and the core. A plurality of blades are provided in the circumferential direction, extend from the inner shell to the outer core, and adjust the direction of the hydraulic oil returned from the turbine to the impeller.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Such a torque converter is known in which the flatness of the torus formed by the three types of impellers is reduced, that is, the torus is crushed in the axial direction. In this case, the working oil flowing from the turbine to the stator is not smoothly redirected, and the fluid loss in the stator increases. As a result, the transmission efficiency of the torque converter decreases.
[0005]
In order to solve this problem, a rectifying plate or the like for smoothly turning the flow of hydraulic oil has been fixed to the stator. However, since the rectifying plate is a separate member, there is a problem that the number of parts increases. Further, if the protrusions and the like are formed integrally with the stator, the casting mold cannot be removed in the axial direction at the same time when the stator is manufactured, which increases the manufacturing cost.
[0006]
An object of the present invention is to smoothly change the direction of hydraulic oil in a stator with a structure in which the number of parts is reduced and the manufacturing cost is kept low.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A stator assembly according to a first aspect is used for a torque converter including an impeller and a turbine, and includes a stator and a stator support member. The stator has an annular shell and a plurality of blades formed on the outer periphery thereof. The stator support member forms a rectifying portion in the vicinity of the shell of the stator. The stator support member is a member different from the stator, and is a member that supports the stator in the rotational direction or the axial direction.
[0008]
In this torque converter, the hydraulic oil flowing through the stator is smoothly changed in direction by the rectifying unit, so that fluid loss is reduced. In addition, since the rectifying unit is formed on a stator support member that is separate from the stator, the number of parts does not increase and the manufacturing cost of the stator does not increase.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, the stator assembly according to the first aspect further includes a one-way clutch that includes the stator support member and supports the stator in the rotational direction.
[0009]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, the stator assembly according to the first or second aspect further includes a bearing that includes a stator support member and supports the stator in the axial direction.
A stator assembly according to a fourth aspect is the stator assembly according to any one of the first to third aspects, wherein the rectifying portion is disposed on an inlet side of the stator, and an outer peripheral surface of the rectifying portion is radially increased from the turbine side to the impeller side. The taper surface which becomes low is comprised.
[0010]
A stator assembly according to a fifth aspect is the stator assembly according to any one of the first to third aspects, wherein the rectifying unit is disposed on the inlet side of the stator body, and the outer peripheral surface of the rectifying unit is arranged in a radial direction on the turbine side compared to the impeller side. Constructs a concave surface that is high and smoothly curved.

Other Embodiment
In the embodiments described above, when the rectifying portions are provided at both the inlet and the outlet of the stator, the combinations of the rectifying portions are free. That is, the outer peripheral surfaces of both rectifying sections may be tapered surfaces, concave surfaces, or a combination of tapered surfaces and concave surfaces. Further, both the rectifying sections may be a combination of an outer race and a thrust bearing race, or a combination of a retainer and a thrust bearing race. 【The invention's effect】
In the torque converter according to the present invention, the hydraulic oil flowing through the stator smoothly flows by the rectifying unit, and fluid loss is reduced. In addition, since the rectifying unit uses a stator support member that is separate from the stator body, the number of parts does not increase and the manufacturing cost of the stator body does not increase.
