TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a single-cavity toroidal type continuously variable transmission used as a transmission of an automobile, for example.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The toroidal type continuously variable transmission, which has been studied mainly as a transmission for automobiles, has an input disk and an output disk each having an arc-shaped concave cross section facing each other, and is sandwiched between these disks. And a toroidal speed change mechanism having a structure combining a rotatable power roller. The input disk is drivingly coupled to the torque input shaft to allow movement in the direction of the torque input shaft, while the output disk is rotatable relative to the torque input shaft and away from the input disk. It is mounted opposite the input disk so that movement is restricted.
[0003]
In the toroidal transmission described above, when the input disk rotates, the output disk rotates in the reverse direction via the power roller, so that the rotational motion input to the torque input shaft is transmitted to the output disk as a rotational motion in the opposite direction. And is taken out of the output gear rotating integrally with the output disk. At this time, the speed from the torque input shaft to the output gear is increased by changing the inclination angle of the rotation shaft of the power roller so that the peripheral surface of the power roller comes into contact with the vicinity of the outer periphery of the input disk and the vicinity of the center of the output disk, respectively. On the contrary, the torque input shaft is changed by changing the inclination angle of the rotation shaft of the power roller so that the peripheral surface of the power roller comes into contact with the vicinity of the center of the input disk and the vicinity of the outer periphery of the output disk. From the gear to the output gear. Further, an intermediate speed ratio between the two can be obtained almost steplessly by appropriately adjusting the inclination angle of the rotating shaft of the power roller.
[0004]
In order to adjust the frictional force generated between the input disk and the power roller and between the power roller and the output disk always to an appropriate level, a loading nut fixed to the input disk side end of the torque input shaft is used. A loading cam device that can increase or decrease the pressing force in the input shaft direction according to the input torque is provided between the input disks. The loading cam device has a cam surface having an uneven shape extending in a circumferential direction, is engaged with a torque input shaft and rotates integrally with the torque input shaft, and a similar cam surface has a cam. An input disk provided on the surface facing the cam surface of the disk and rotating relative to the torque input shaft, a substantially annular-shaped retainer sandwiched therebetween, and a circumferential direction of the retainer And rolling elements respectively disposed in the openings provided at a plurality of locations over the rolling elements. In addition, each rolling element is held in the opening of the retainer so as to be rotatable around the radial direction of the retainer as a center axis, and the side surface of each rolling element is uneven on both cam surfaces of the cam disk and the input disk. It is incorporated so as to abut.
[0005]
The torque input shaft is rotatably supported on a casing of the toroidal type continuously variable transmission by a bearing provided at an end on the input disk side and an input side bearing provided on an end on the output disk side. ing. Apart from this, the output gear is also rotatably supported by a casing of the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission by an output-side bearing provided on the back surface of the output gear. The output-side bearing and the input-side bearing are held back-to-back by support members coupled to the casing of the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission. For example, when an angular bearing is used, the directions of the contact angles are opposite to each other. Are combined so that
[0006]
When transmitting the torque input to the torque input shaft to the output gear, the torque input shaft is attracted toward the input disk and the output gear is pushed toward the output disk by the operation of the loading cam device. For this reason, a thrust load in the direction of the input disk is applied to the input side bearing, and a thrust load in the direction of the output disk is applied to the output side bearing.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the single-cavity toroidal-type continuously variable transmission including only one toroidal-type transmission mechanism as described above, the reaction force of the input disk and the output disk is large, and the thrust load applied to the output-side bearing and the input-side bearing is large. When high torque is transmitted, the rotational resistance of the bearing portion increases significantly. Therefore, it is inevitable that the dynamic torque loss during operation becomes extremely large, and the transmission efficiency of the transmission cannot be maintained sufficiently high.
[0008]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to reduce the load applied between the output-side bearing and the input-side bearing by applying hydraulic pressure in opposite directions to reduce the load on each bearing. An object of the present invention is to reduce the generated dynamic torque loss and improve the transmission efficiency of a single-cavity toroidal type continuously variable transmission.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention relates to an input disk that is drivingly coupled to a torque input shaft, and the input disk that is rotatable relative to the torque input shaft and is restricted from moving in a direction away from the input disk. It comprises an output disk mounted oppositely, and a rotatable power roller sandwiched between the input disk and the output disk, each having an arcuate concave cross section, so as to abut against the mutually facing surfaces of the input disk and the output disk. A set of toroidal transmission mechanisms, an output gear that rotates integrally with the output disk, an output bearing provided behind the output gear to support a thrust load applied from the output disk, and a torque input shaft. An input-side bearing provided at an end of the output disk and supporting a thrust load applied from the input disk. An object of the present invention is to provide a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission having a glue cavity type, wherein an oil pressure in a direction opposite to a reaction force received by outer rings of the output side bearing and the input side bearing acts on the output side. A hydraulic pressure generating portion for reducing a thrust load input to the bearing and the input-side bearing is arranged between the output-side bearing and the input-side bearing, and the output-side bearing is bored in an inner diameter portion of the output gear. The input side bearing is connected to the output disk side end of the torque input shaft via a flange member, and the outer ring of the output side bearing is integrated with the output disk and the output gear. This is achieved by causing the outer ring of the input-side bearing to rotate integrally with the torque input shaft and the flange member.

[0026]
Further, in the present embodiment, the outer diameter and the inner diameter of the stepped structure forming the labyrinth are sequentially reduced along the direction in which the oil leaks as described above. [0027]
Since the leakage of oil stored in the cylinder 91 can be reduced as much as possible by the above labyrinth, sufficient hydraulic pressure is always ensured in the cylinder 91, and a power loss generated by a drive pump (not shown) for supplying oil is generated. Can be kept extremely small. In the labyrinth in the inner diameter direction shown in FIG. 8, the oil-tightness of the joint surface between the output-

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the single-cavity toroidal-type continuously variable transmission of the present invention, the thrust load applied to the bearing portion is reduced, and the transmission loss generated in the bearing portion can be reduced. The transmission efficiency of the entire transmission is improved. Further, since the load applied to the bearing is reduced, the size and weight of the bearing portion and the bearing peripheral members can be reduced. Furthermore, since the support member is reliably positioned with respect to the casing, one of the output disk and the input disk is positioned with respect to the casing, and rigidity during rotation can be secured, so that deformation is small and stability is reduced. A high single-cavity toroidal-type continuously variable transmission can be configured.
[0030]
In the single-cavity toroidal type continuously variable transmission according to the present invention, the piston and the bearing outer ring are integrally rotated by a flange connection, or a labyrinth is formed on a joint surface between the piston and the cylinder to reduce the amount of leaked oil. As a result, the effect of reducing the thrust load applied to the bearing is enhanced, and the transmission efficiency is further improved.
