【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、図書館や事務所等で使用されて書籍や物品を載せる棚装置に関し、特にその側板を中心とした構造に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、棚装置としては、木質系、鋼材系等各種のものがあるが、大型のものでは、外観のよさと強度の確保の観点から、鋼製部材と木製部材を組み合わせた棚装置が多く用いられている。
鋼製部材と木製部材を組み合わせた棚装置としては、例えば、実公平1ー18043号公報に記載されているようなものがある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
この棚装置は、大きな積載重量、長期間使用、乾燥等により変形し反りが生じることを防止するために、側板内面に鋼板を内張りし、この鋼板の内張りにより増大した重量を軽減するために、鋼製支柱を特殊な断面形状の太いものとして、それに、前後に分割して小型とした木製の側板を掛け止めするようにしている。

しかし、上述の従来の棚装置の側板構造は、変形や反りを防止するために木製の側板に内張りした鋼板によって、木質の化粧効果が大きく損なわれるばかりでなく、側板が、支柱に掛け止めされて単に木質の化粧として使用されているだけで、棚装置本体の強度部材として用いられていないため鋼製支柱や、支柱を立てる鋼製脚等の部材に、棚板や積載物ばかりか側板の荷重も一手に受け持たせることになる。そして、鋼製支柱を特殊な断面形状太くするなどして剛性を高め、かつ支柱を極めて堅固に支持しうる脚部を必要とし、かつ強固な組み付け作業を要している。

また、これらの棚装置において背の低いものから背の高いものに変更しようとする場合には、支柱または側板を背の高いものそっくり交換しなければならず、今まで使用していた低い棚用の支柱または側板が無駄になっていた。

本発明の目的は、このような問題点を解決するために、木製部材を強度部材として用いることにより、木質の長所を強調しながら、木質部分反り等により変形しにくい、剛性の高い側板構造とし、さらに背の低い棚装置を背の高いものに変更する場合に、背の低い棚装置の部材を生かしながら部材追加することによって変更可能とした棚装置を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明によると、上記課題は次のようにして解決される。
(1)左右の側板の間に複数段の棚板を掛け渡した棚装置において、前後方向の幅を大として、前後両面から積載物を出し入れ可能とし、かつ正面から見て方形枠状に形成された鋼製の補強枠を、2枚の側板の前後方向の中央部に設けた中間支柱に固定して、側板同士を連結してなり、さらに前記側板を、木製板からなる複数の側板パネルを、鋼製の中間支柱を介して前後方向に連結したものとする。

(2)上記(1)項において、側板を上下につなぐことにより背を高くしうるようにした棚装置において、方形枠状の補強枠を、上下につないだ2個の側板にまたがって位置させ、かつ上下及び左右の4個の側板に固定して、それらを連結する。

【発明の実施の形態】
(実施例1)
本発明の実施例1を図1〜図8を用いて説明する。
実施例1は、図書館等で使用する大型の書棚であり、前後両面から書物を出し入れできる複式の棚装置である。まず、図1〜3を用いて概略の説明をする。
棚装置(1)は、左右端部に1対の側板(2)(3)を有し、かつ中央に1の側板(4)を有している。この3の側板(2)(3)(4)は棚装置(1)を床に立てる脚でもある。

次に、側板の構造を中心に、細部構造を図4〜図8を用いて説明する。

そこで実施例1の標準型棚装置(1)で用いている補強枠(8)を、側板の継ぎ足し部にも左右で2個用いて補強している即ち、図9では2個の方形状の補強枠(8)が用いられているが、下側の1個は、すでに実施例1で説明した筋交いの機能をもって標準型の補強を行っているものであり、上の方が、今回の側板の継ぎ足し部補強用のものである。この上方の補強枠(8)は、左右、上下合わせて4個の側板の中間支柱(14)(14)(55)(55)の側面に対して、横カバー(25)(25)、継ぎ足し用横カバー(67)(67)(図示省略)を介してボルトで固定され、継ぎ足し部を強固に補強している。

【発明の効果】
本発明によれば、次の効果が得られる。
(1) 請求項1記載の発明によると、鋼製の補強枠は、筋交いの働きをして、棚装置全体の剛性を増すことができる。補強枠自体は、棚装置の前側に設けるものではないから、積載物の出し入れの邪魔にならず、積載する物や書籍等の後ろに隠れて目立つことはない。逆にその分、支柱等を細くすることができて、装置の重量を軽減するとともに、それだけ木質部分を目立たせて、木質のよさを強調することができる。
したがって、特に図書館等の大型書棚等として適である。

また補強枠自体は、前後方向の中央部に設けられ、前後両面から積載物を出し入れするから、出し入れの邪魔にならず、積載物の後ろに隠れて目立たない。

さらに、筋交いの働きをする補強枠を、前後方向の中央部における変形しにくい鋼製の中間支柱に接続してあるから、確実に棚装置全体の剛性を増すことができる。
