Further, in order to further enhance the texture of natural marble, artificial marble (JP-A-59-171612) has been considered in which mica fragments are used as particles to exhibit a glittering feeling similar to natural stone. This conventional artificial marble is obtained by spraying mica pieces on the inner bottom surface of a molding die, then pouring in an unsaturated polyester resin containing crushed crushed rock, and then curing the same. . However, such conventional artificial marble does not have an appearance having a sense of depth like natural marble because mica pieces are arranged only in the plane direction.
Further, in order to solve such a problem, a method of spraying mica pieces in the thickness direction inside the mold is also conceivable, but this method is difficult, and an artificial marble having an appearance with a sense of depth is obtained. I couldn't do that.

The amount of mica used is 1 to 50 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the transparent curable resin liquid. When the amount of the mica pieces is less than 1 part by weight, a patchy pattern similar to large-grain crystalline natural stone such as granite or marble cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if it exceeds 50 parts by weight, the viscosity of the composition forming the resin molded product increases, the moldability decreases, and the strength of the obtained artificial stone is low.

The inorganic filler to be mixed in the transparent curable resin liquid includes glass frit, aluminum hydroxide, calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, magnesium carbonate, silica,
Alumina, aluminum silicate, magnesium silicate,
Examples thereof include calcium sulfate, magnesium hydroxide, titanium oxide, and zinc oxide, and have an average particle size of 10 to 300 μm. The decoration effect as an artificial stone having a patchy pattern resembling natural stone can be enhanced by combining one or more of these. When the average particle size of the inorganic filler is less than 10 μm, the viscosity of the composition forming the resin molded product increases, the moldability decreases, and the transparency of the obtained artificial stone decreases. Conversely, the average particle size of the inorganic filler is 30
If it exceeds 0 μm, these inorganic fillers will settle.

The amount of such an inorganic filler is 80 to 300 parts by weight, preferably 100 to 200 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the transparent curable resin liquid. When the amount of the inorganic filler used is less than 80 parts by weight, the shrinkage of the composition constituting the resin molded product during curing increases, and the moldability decreases. On the other hand, when it exceeds 300 parts by weight, the viscosity of the composition forming the resin molded product increases, and the moldability decreases.

The artificial stone having a mottled pattern of the present invention is obtained by using a resin molding obtained by curing a composition obtained by mixing a mica piece having a large particle diameter and an inorganic filler in a transparent curable resin liquid. Therefore, the mica pieces are arranged in a plane direction and a direction having an arbitrary angle with respect to the plane direction,
Because light is reflected intricately by these mica fragments, it has an excellent sense of depth and gloss compared to conventional artificial stones with patchy patterns, making it suitable for large-grain crystalline natural stones such as granite and marble. It has the advantage of having a very similar appearance.

Further, those using a transparent curable resin liquid colored by mixing a pigment or the like, or those provided with an concealing layer or a reflective layer on the back surface of a resin molded product have an appearance having an excellent sense of depth. . Furthermore, in the case of using mica pieces surface-treated with a silane coupling agent, the mica pieces are chemically bonded to the transparent curable resin liquid, so that the interface with the transparent curable resin liquid is strengthened. The adhesion between the resin and the transparent curable resin liquid is improved, and the strength is excellent. In addition, those using a transparent resin liquid containing reinforcing fibers also have excellent strength.
