Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本発明は縦型ピロー包装機に用いられる横熱封止部材
の駆動装置に関する。
(従来技術) 包装帯材を充填筒の成形肩の部分で筒状に成形して重
ね合った縦の線を溶着するとともに、筒状に形成された
この包装材の引出し過程において充填筒の出口端下方に
配設した一対の横熱封止部材により底部継目を形成して
ゆく縦型ピロー包装機は、包装材の成形と包装材内への
充填とを連続的に行うことができる点で作業性に優れた
装置とされている。
特に特開昭62−235006号公報に開示された装置は、こ
の種の包装機において底部継目を形成する横熱封止部材
を包装材の引出し方向に直線的に走行させながら全加熱
面を包装材に接触させるようにしたものであって、熱封
サイクルを短縮した場合においても熱封に必要な十分な
時間をとることができる上で優れている。
しかしながらこの装置は、横熱封止部材を直線的に走
行させる手段として、回転体の先端に保持した熱封止部
材をD字形の案内溝により誘導する構造を採っているた
め、熱封サイクルを短縮すべく回転体の回転速度を高め
た場合には、これに伴って増大する慣性力により、特に
案内溝の変曲点部分で熱封止部材に無理な力が加わって
正確な追従動作を行わせ得なくなるといった不都合が発
生し、さらには、案内部分によって熱封止部材の軌跡が
決められてしまうため、充填物の如何によっては必要と
される筒形包装材に対するしごき動作や、熱封止要処理
時間を決定する直線走行長さの変更調節等が行い得ない
といった問題を有している。
(発明が解決しようとする課題) 本発明はこのような問題に鑑みてなされたもので、そ
の目的とするところは、包装材自体あるいは充填物の如
何に対応させて横熱封止部材を適切に導くことのできる
新たな装置を提供することにある。
(課題を解決するための手段) すなわち、本願発明はかかる課題を達成するための包
装機として、封止方向に向けて横熱封止部材を保持し、
かつ包装材の移動経路を挟むようにして充填筒の下流側
に旋回自在に、かつ互いに離間接近自在に対向配設され
た一対の腕部材と、これらの一対の腕部材を包装材の移
送方向に向けて互いに内向きに旋回運動させる旋回駆動
手段と、この旋回運動と同期して横熱封止領域で横熱封
止部材に包装材の移送経路に沿う直線運動を行わすべく
一対の腕部材を離間接近させる直線方向駆動手段と、に
よって構成したものである。
(作用) このように構成したことにより旋回駆動手段によって
一対の腕部材を旋回動させ、同時に、これと同期する直
線方向駆動手段によって一対の腕部材を離間接近させる
ことにより、各腕部材の先端に設けた横熱封止部材に、
包材の移送経路に沿う直線運動を無理なく行わせるよう
にしたものである。
(実施例) そこで、以下に図示した実施例について説明する。
第1図は本発明の一実施例をなす横熱封止部材の駆動
機構を一方のみ示したものである。
図において符号1は横熱封止部材つまり横シールジョ
ーを包装材に沿わせて直線運動させるためのカムで、こ
のカム1は駆動軸2とともに一体的に回転するようその
軸端に固定されている。3は軸間距離を変えても回転角
のずれや伝達トルクの変動を生じさせることなく駆動軸
の回転を被動軸に伝達することのできる周知のシュミッ
トカップリングで、このシュミットカップリング3は、
図示しないリンクに結合された3枚の円板3a、3b、3cに
よって構成され、その第1の円板3aは駆動軸2に結合
し、第3の円板3cは後述するシールジョー旋回軸5に結
合されている。
一方上記したシールジョー旋回軸5には、案内軌面
6、6上をスライドするブラケット7が軸受を介して取
付けられ、その他側面に軸受したカムフォロワ8は上記
したカム1の周面上を転動して、スーリジョー旋回軸5
を包装材Wの搬送経路に対して接近離間させるように構
成されている。他方、このシールジョー旋回軸5には旋
回アーム10が一体的に取付けられ、またこのアーム10の
先端に軸支した遊星歯車12はアイドラ13を介してブラケ
ット7上に固定した同径の固定歯車14と噛合って、遊星
歯車12に固定したシールジョー16の加熱面16aを常に包
装材Wに向けて水平に旋回動させるように構成されてい
る。
このように構成された装置において、いま駆動軸2に
駆動されてカム1が回転すると、このカム1の周面に接
して転動するカムフォロワ8はブラケット7を介してシ
ールジョー転動軸5を包装材Wの搬送経路に対して直角
な向きに変位させ、他方シュミットカップリング3は駆
動軸2の回転をシールジョー旋回軸5に1:1の関係で伝
達し、さらにこの転動軸5に固定したアーム10を旋回軸
5を中心として回転させる。
このため、このアーム10の先端に遊星歯車12を介して
取付けられたシールジョー16は、遊星歯車12がアイドラ
13を介してブラケット7上の固定歯車14と噛合い関係を
保っている関係上、加熱面16aを常時包装材Wに向けた
水平姿勢を保ちつつカム1の形状に応じて図中2点鎖線
で示したように熱封領域Aにおいて直線軌跡を採るよう
なほぼD字状の軌道を画いて旋回動する。
もとより、このシールジョー16は包装材Wの搬送経路
を挟んでその対側にも配設されており、筒状に形成され
た包装材Wの必要部分は、これら一対のシールジョー16
が直線運動をする過程で一定の封止が行われる。
第2図は、対をなすシールジョーに所要のD字状軌跡
を画かせる別の実施例を示したもので、サーボモータに
接続したスプライン軸21aには、一方のギヤボックス22R
内に配設された第1のベベルギヤ24aがこれと噛合う第
2のベベルギヤ24bを介してシールジョー旋回軸25Rに回
転駆動力を伝達するとともに、第2のベベルギヤ24bと
噛合う第3のベベルギヤ24cがこれと一体のスリーブ軸2
3cに摺動自在に結合した第2のスプライン軸21bを介し
て、他方のギヤボックス22L内に配設した第1のベベル
ギヤ26aを駆動し、これと噛合う第2のベベルギヤ26bと
一体をなすシールジョー旋回軸25Lに回転駆動力を伝達
するように構成されている。
これらの対をなすシールジョー旋回軸25R、25Lには、
フレーム上に軸支されたカムフォロワ28、28に接触して
転動するカム27R、27Lが固定されていて、各シールジョ
ー旋回軸25R、25Lは、その回転とともにこれらのカム27
R、27Lにより第3図に示したように、シールジョー2
6R、26Lに対してそれぞれD字状の回転軌跡を画かせる
ように構成されている。
ところで以上の実施例は、筒状包装材Wに対する横熱
封用として構成したものであって、例えばポテトチップ
スのようなカサ密度の小さい商品を充填する場合には、
横封止に先立って筒状包装材Wに“しごき”を加えて封
止部に物品が噛み込まないようにする必要があるが、こ
のような場合には、これらのカム1、27を取替えてシー
ルジョー26R、26Lにそれらの動作をするのに適したよう
な軌跡を画かせるようにする。
第4図はしごき動作と封止動作を同時に行わせ得るよ
うにした本発明の他の実施例に関するものである。
一対のシールジョー旋回軸35R、35Lは、第2の実施例
と同様に、スプライン軸31a、31bに摺動自在に結合され
た各ギヤボックス32R、32L内のベベルギヤを介して軸方
向に移動自在に、かつシールジョー駆動用のサーボモー
タに駆動されて回転するように取付けられている。これ
らの旋回軸35R、35Lは、共通のピニオン34と噛合うラッ
ク杆37R、37Lを介して互いに結合され、さらに一方のラ
ック杆37Rには、旋回軌跡設定用のサーボモータ39のピ
ニオン38が噛合っていて、2本の旋回軸35R、35Lは、こ
のサーボモータ39に駆動されて互いに離間、接近が可能
なように構成されている。
この実施例では、シールジョー駆動用のサーボモータ
に同期させて予め設定したプログラムにより旋回軌跡設
定用のサーボモータ39を正転、逆転動させることによ
り、第5図に示したように、包装材Wの搬送経路に沿う
上手側はしごき領域Bとして、各シールジョー36R、36L
の先端に若干の間隙δを形成するようにして直線状に走
行させ、また搬送経路に沿う下手側は封止領域Aとし
て、両シールジョー36R、36Lの先端をさらに接近させて
直線状に走行させるような回転軌跡を形成する。
またさらにこの実施例では、しごき領域Bにおいてシ
ールジョー36R、36Lの直線走行速度VCBが包装材Wの搬
送速度VSより大となるように、また封止領域Aにおいて
はシールジョーの直線走行速度VCAが包装材の搬送速度
VSと等しくなるようにシールジョー駆動用サーボモータ
の回転速度を適宜に制御することができる。
また、第6図に示した実施例は、ギヤボックス42R、4
2L内にあって共通の駆動軸41に結合したギヤと、シュミ
ットカップリング43R、43Lとによってシールジョー旋回
軸45R、45Lに回転駆動力を伝達するよう構成する一方、
旋回軌跡設定用のサーボモータ49により一対のアーム47
R、47Lを接近離間可能となして、これらのアーム47R、4
7Lに結合した2本の共軸ロッド48R、48Lによりシールジ
ョー旋回転45R、45Lに所定のしごき走行軌跡と封止走行
軌跡を画かせるように構成したものである。
(効果) 以上の述べたように本発明によれば、旋回駆動手段に
よって一対の腕部材を旋回動させ、同時に、これと同期
する直線方向駆動手段によって一対の腕部材を離間接近
させるようにしたので、高速で作動させた場合でも、横
熱封止部材に無理な力を加えることなく、これらにスム
ーズなD字形の旋回運動を行わすことができ、また、リ
ンク機構を介して腕部材に結合した直線方向駆動手段に
対して、その回転速度と回転方向を任意に変更できるよ
うにすることにより、横熱封止領域で横熱封止部材に包
装材よりも速い速度で移動させたり、2つの異なる直線
軌跡を画かせるようにして、横熱封止部材に、単なる包
装材への封止動作ばかりでなく、充填物のしごき動作を
も行わせることができる。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】熱可塑性の帯状包装材を筒状に形成し、つ
    いで横方向の熱封止を施して内部に充填物を充填する形
    式の包装機において、 封止方向に向けて横熱封止部材を保持し、かつ包装材の
    移動経路を挟むようにして充填筒の下流側に旋回自在
    に、かつ互いに離間接近自在に対向配設された一対の腕
    部材と、 該一対の腕部材を包装材の移送方向に向けて互いに内向
    きに旋回運動させる旋回駆動手段と、 該旋回運動と同期して横熱封止領域で上記横熱封止部材
    に包装材の移送経路に沿う直線運動を行わすべく上記一
    対の腕部材を離間接近させる直線方向駆動手段と、 を備えたことを特徴とする包装機。
  2. 【請求項2】上記旋回駆動手段として、シュミットカッ
    プリング機構を用いたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の
    包装機。
  3. 【請求項3】上記直線方向駆動手段として、上記旋回駆
    動手段と同期して回動し、かつ上記一対の腕部材に作用
    して該腕部材を離間接近させるカム部材を用いたことを
    特徴とする請求項1記載の包装機。
  4. 【請求項4】上記直線方向駆動手段として、リンク機構
    を介して結合した上記腕部材に対し、上記横熱封止領域
    での回転速度と回転方向を変更自在に駆動する手段とし
    て構成したことを特徴とする請求項1記載の包装機。
