Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a vacuum degassing device such as DH or RH, particularly a spinel-magnesia-carbon brick suitable for the lining of RH to be subjected to a treatment of blowing oxygen, and a vacuum degassing device using this brick for the side wall of the lower tank.
Vacuum degassing devices such as DH and RH have been desired to supply materials having a large load on refractories and excellent durability. Conventionally, magnesia-chromia bricks having excellent corrosion resistance have been used as refractories for vacuum degassing equipment, but magnesia-chromia bricks are inferior in heat impact resistance and have a problem that their lifespan is significantly shortened in places where temperature changes are large. was there.
MgO(固体) + C(固体)→ Mg(ガス)+ CO(ガス) (1)
For such magnesia-chromia bricks, attempts have been made to use magnesia-carbon bricks, which have been used for converters and the like, as refractories for vacuum degassing equipment. Even in magnesia-carbon bricks, melting damage due to slag is the main cause of damage, but it has been thought that damage is promoted by the magnesia-carbon reaction (reaction of (1) below) that occurs at high temperatures.
MgO (solid) + C (solid) → Mg (gas) + CO (gas) (1)
The magnesia-carbon reaction is more likely to occur at higher temperatures. In addition, in a vacuum degassing device that degass and decarburizes during processing, the generated Mg (gas) and CO (gas) are taken out of the system by vacuuming, so the reaction of (1) occurs. It is believed to be promoted. Therefore, the reason why the durability of magnesia-carbon bricks is not improved is considered to be the magnesia-carbon reaction as well as the corrosion resistance to slag.
Several methods have been proposed to simultaneously achieve corrosion resistance to slag and suppression of the magnesia-carbon reaction.
Patent Document 2 describes a refractory lining for secondary refractory equipment with reduced pressure, which comprises a spinel-carbon brick containing 75 to 99.5% by mass of spinel and 0.5 to 25% by mass of carbon. Is disclosed. According to Patent Document 2, magnesia-carbon bricks are superior in corrosion resistance to high basicity and low alumina-containing slag similar to converter slag, but corrosion resistance to low basicity and high alumina-containing slag is higher than that of magnesia-carbon bricks. Spinel-carbon bricks have been shown to be superior. In addition, the slag after the secondary refining treatment is regarded as substantially the same as the slag remaining in the ladle in the continuous casting operation, and the slag remaining after the continuous casting is analyzed to determine the basicity of the slag. The alumina content can be defined, and the low basicity and high alumina content slag means that the ladle slag after the secondary refining treatment with decompression collected by the above method has a basicity of 0.5 to 3. There is a description that the alumina content is 0 and the alumina content is in the range of 20 to 40% by mass. However, when the present inventors used this spinel-carbon brick in a vacuum degassing device that operates within the above range, the durability of the lower tank side wall was inferior to that of the conventional magnesia-carbon brick. Do you get it. In Patent Document 2, the slag (hereinafter referred to as slag in the tank) component generated in the vacuum degassing device is estimated by analyzing the ladle slag remaining after continuous casting, but the ladle slag after continuous casting is estimated. , The estimation accuracy is very low because it is affected by the suction of the ladle slag into the vacuum degassing device. In fact, in the vacuum degassing equipment operated within the above range, the durability of spinel-carbon bricks was inferior to that of magnesia-carbon bricks. When observing the working surface of the spinel-carbon brick, it was confirmed that the spinel particles were melted due to the high calcia-containing slag.
Further, Patent Document 3 describes a converter bottom composed of

Both are possible, and the durability of the brick is greatly improved. Spinel suppresses the magnesia-carbon reaction. The spinel content is 20% by mass or more. If the amount of spinel is too small, the magnesia-carbon reaction reduces the durability and the thermal impact resistance. The spinel content is 66.9% by mass or less. If there is too much spinel, the effect of reduced durability due to the formation of low melting point compounds with high-calcia-containing slag will be large, and damage will be large. The spinel content may be 65% by mass or less. Spinel is mainly composed of alumina and magnesia, and contains alumina and magnesia in a total amount of 95% by mass or more. The theoretical composition of spinel is alumina: magnesia = 71.7: 28.3 in mass%, but there are various compositions, and those containing more alumina than the theoretical composition contain more alumina-rich spinel and magnesia. Is called Magnesia Rich Spinel. In the present invention, any spinel can be used and may be used in combination. The spinel production method may be used in combination regardless of whether it is sintering or electrofusion. In order to obtain higher corrosion resistance, impurities such as calcia and silica are preferably small, and for example, the impurity component may be 5% by mass or less, and further may be 2% by mass or less. The crystal structure of magnesia in spinel and the magnesia alone described below are clearly different, and can be easily distinguished by X-ray diffraction measurement or the like. In addition, the spinel content in bricks and the following single magnesia content can be easily measured independently by known measuring methods such as EPMA (probe microanalyzer) and XRF (fluorescent X-ray analysis). be.
Magnesia suppresses the formation of low melting point compounds with high calcia-containing slag. The content of magnesia is 30% by mass or more. Too little magnesia reduces durability against high calcia-containing slag. The magnesia content is 70% by mass or less. If the amount of magnesia is too large, the influence of the structure deterioration due to the magnesia-carbon reaction and the formation of the low melting point compound with the high silica-containing slag becomes large, and the wear becomes large. As the magnesia, those generally used for refractories can be adopted, and for example, either fused magnesia or sintered magnesia may be used, and these may be used in combination. The composition is not particularly limited, but magnesia having a high purity can be used in order to obtain higher corrosion resistance, and for example, magnesia having an MgO purity of 96% by mass or more and further 98% by mass or more may be used. ..
Graphite improves the thermal impact resistance of bricks. Since the vacuum degassing device operates intermittently, heat impact resistance is also important. The graphite content is 3% by mass or more. If the amount of graphite is too small, the heat impact resistance is lowered and the bricks are cracked, so that the durability is lowered. The graphite content is 15% by mass or less. If the amount of graphite is too large, the effect of the deterioration of durability due to the oxidation of graphite becomes large, and the wear becomes large. As the graphite, commercially available solid graphite such as scaly graphite, earth-like graphite, and artificial graphite can be used, and these can be used alone or in combination of two or more.
Aluminum and / or aluminum alloys improve the oxidation resistance of bricks. The content of aluminum and / or aluminum alloy is 0.1% by mass or more. If the content of aluminum and / or aluminum alloy is too low, the carbon in the brick will be oxidized due to the decrease in oxidation resistance, and the durability will decrease. The content of aluminum and / or aluminum alloy shall be 2.0% by mass or less. If the content of aluminum and / or aluminum alloy is too high, magnesia reacts with aluminum and / or aluminum alloy to generate a large amount of spinel in the structure, causing oversintering and resulting in significant thermal shock resistance. Decreases to. The aluminum alloy may be any one containing aluminum. The aluminum alloy may contain, for example, 49% by mass or more of aluminum. Specific examples of the aluminum alloy include an alloy of aluminum and silicon, an alloy of aluminum and magnesium, and the like.
In addition to spinel, magnesia, graphite, and aluminum and / or aluminum alloys, the bricks of the present invention include other carbonaceous raw materials, antioxidants, and / or metals contained in ordinary magnesia-carbon bricks. Ingredients can be further contained. The content of other components may be, for example, 5% by mass or less. Specific examples of other components may include, for example, carbon black, pitch, SiC, B4C, Si and the like. It can also contain amorphous carbon derived from an organic binder for forming connective tissue.
The spinel-magnesia-carbon brick of the present invention can be produced by the same method as that of a general magnesia-carbon brick or the like. That is, the spinel-magnesia-carbon brick of the present invention can be obtained, for example, by adding an organic binder to a fire-resistant raw material formulation, kneading the bricks, molding the bricks, and then heat-treating the bricks. The heat treatment temperature can be, for example, in the range of 200 ° C. to 800 ° C.
As the organic binder, an organic binder used in ordinary magnesia-carbon bricks and the like can be used, and for example, furan resin, phenol resin and the like can be used. In addition, the organic binder can be used in the form of a powder or a liquid dissolved in a suitable solvent, or a combination of the liquid and the powder. The methods and conditions for kneading, molding and heat treatment are also the same as those for manufacturing general magnesia-carbon bricks.
The spinel-magnesia-carbon brick of the present invention is used by lining the side wall of the lower tank of the vacuum degassing device. FIG. 1 shows a cross-sectional view of the RH vacuum chamber. As shown in the figure, the lower tank side wall referred to in the present application is a side wall portion (hatched portion in FIG. 1) composed of a refractory material up to a flange portion joined to the upper tank above the floor portion. ..
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The present invention applies the spinel-magnesia-carbon brick as a lining material for the side wall of the lower tank in a vacuum degassing device that operates to satisfy the following (2)-(7), thereby damaging the side wall of the lower tank. Can be suppressed and the life of the lower tank can be extended.
RSI)[−]≦0.30 (2) 0.040 ≤ average tank slag index (hereinafter average RSI) [-] ≤ 0.30 (2)

It is considered that the slag generated in the vacuum degassing device (hereinafter referred to as the slag in the tank) has a direct effect on the durability of the lower tank brick of the vacuum degassing device, but the sampling is very high. Have difficulty. Therefore, in Patent Document 2, the ladle slag remaining after continuous casting is used instead.
The source of the slag in the tank is considered to be the partial suction of the ladle slag into the vacuum degassing device, the oxidation of the molten steel component, and the oxidation of the auxiliary material introduced during the treatment. The slag component fluctuates with time because it is discharged from the slag to the ladle. It is presumed that the ladle slag remaining after continuous casting, which is substituted in Patent Document 2, has a component significantly different from that of the in-tank slag. When the present inventor actually performed the vacuum degassing treatment, the spinneru carbon brick, which was considered to have excellent durability under the operating conditions within the range shown in Patent Document 2, has a higher durability than the magnesia carbon brick. The result was inferior to.
As a result of diligent studies by the present inventor, the damage rate of bricks used for the side wall of the lower tank of the vacuum degassing device has a positive correlation with the implementation rate of aluminum-silicon deoxidized steel treatment using aluminum and silicon as secondary materials. Therefore, it was found that it is necessary to pay attention to the amount and type of auxiliary materials to be added as the slag component in the tank that affects the durability.
Therefore, in the present invention, by using the average in-tank slag index (average RSI) considering calcium, aluminum, and silicon, which are typical inputs, as an index, a material suitable for the lower tank side wall material of the vacuum degassing device is selected. Was made possible. Calcium, aluminum, and silicon oxides such as calcium, alumina, and silica, which are inputs, are all components that have a great influence on the amount of erosion of magnesia and spinel. According to the laboratory experiments of the present inventor, magnesia is superior to spinel for high calcia, low alumina, and low silica-containing slag even in an environment where a magnesia-carbon reaction is very likely to occur, such as in a vacuum degassing device. It turned out to be advantageous. This is because spinel is easily dissolved in slag containing low alumina. That is, as a factor that determines the slag corrosion resistance of the refractory used for the side wall of the lower tank of the vacuum degassing device, not only the slag basicity determined by the weight ratio of calcia and silica but also the alumina content in the slag must be considered. For example, it was found that the optimal combination of magnesia and spinel could not be determined.
Analysis of the slag component adhering to the side wall material of the lower tank after using the actual RH shows that if the average RSI is less than 0.040, it contains low calcia, low alumina, and high silica, and if the average RSI exceeds 0.30, It tended to contain high calcia, low alumina, and low silica. That is, when the average RSI is 0.040 or more and 0.30 or less as in (2) above, the brick of the present invention has spinel melting due to calcia, spinel melting due to low alumina-containing slag, and magnesia due to silica. It is considered that all of the melting damages of the above are suppressed and the durability is very excellent. In the present invention, the average RSI may be 0.075 or more, or 0.25 or less.

It is characterized in that the vacuum degassing device is operated.

Brick production conditions according to Examples and Comparative Examples Tables 1 to 3 show the composition and physical properties of spinel-magnesia-carbon bricks according to Examples and Comparative Examples. The bricks in Tables 1 to 3 are heat-treated at a maximum temperature of 250 ° C. for 5 hours after being kneaded by adding an appropriate amount of phenol resin as an organic binder to the fire-resistant raw material formulation and forming into a shape of 230 mm × 114 mm × 110 mm by an oil press. Manufactured by applying.
2. Example of in-tank slag index Table 4 shows an example of in-tank slag index (RSI) and auxiliary material input amount in each treatment. In the aluminum-silicon deoxidized steel treatment, as an example, auxiliary materials are charged in the configuration shown in Table 4, but the amount of each auxiliary material charged varies depending on the treatment conditions. In this embodiment, the average RSI ((2) to (7) above) obtained by averaging the RSI slightly fluctuating for each channel over one stove is used.
3. 3. Evaluation of bricks according to Examples and Comparative Examples 3.1 Corrosion resistance (wear rate)
Corrosion resistance was evaluated from the damage rate by applying various bricks as the side wall material of the lower tank of the actual machine RH. The average in-tank slag index at the time of application was in the range of 0.01 to 0.35. The damage rate is the value obtained by dividing the change in brick size before and after operation by the total number of treatments. Comparative Example 1 The damage rate of bricks with respect to the average in-tank slag index of 0.01 was set to 100. FIG. 2 shows the relationship between the damage rate and the average RSI when various bricks are applied to the actual machine RH. When the average RSI was 0.040 or more and 0.30 or less, the bricks according to the example were damaged at a lower rate than the bricks according to the comparative example which were lined at the same time. Although only the results of Examples 1 and 5 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2 are shown in FIG. 2 as representative examples, Examples 1 to 13 have an average RSI of 0.040 or more and 0.30 or less. In each of the bricks, the wear rate index was smaller than that of the bricks according to Comparative Examples 1 to 6, and the corrosion resistance was excellent.
In addition to the damage rate in the actual machine, the basic characteristics required as a refractory used for the side wall of the lower tank of the vacuum degassing device were also evaluated. Specifically, a sample for measuring physical properties was cut out from the bricks produced as described above, and heat impact resistance, magnesia-carbon reactivity, and oxidation resistance were evaluated.
3.2 Heat impact resistance The heat impact resistance was evaluated by a hot metal immersion spalling test. In this test, a 40 × 40 × 190 mm sample is calcined at 1500 ° C. for 10 hours in a reducing atmosphere, the sample is immersed in hot metal heated to 1650 ° C. for 10 minutes, and then water-cooled for 1 minute, which is repeated 5 times. rice field. After the test was completed, the sample was cut and the cross section was observed and evaluated. In Tables 1 to 3, ◎ is a sample in which no cracks were observed, ○ is a sample in which fine cracks were observed to the extent that there was no problem in use, and × was a sample in which cracks were observed in the actual furnace. Judged not suitable for use.
3.3 Magnesia-carbon reactivity Magnesia-carbon reactivity was evaluated by a medium-high temperature heating test in Ar. This high temperature heating test was carried out using an electric furnace with an adjustable atmosphere. The test temperature is set to 1700 ° C. to create an Ar atmosphere, and by blowing Ar, PMg (Mg gas partial pressure) and PCO (CO gas partial pressure) are lowered, and magnesia is similar to the treatment under reduced pressure or vacuum. -Promoted the carbon reaction. Since the magnesia-carbon reaction is a reaction in which solid magnesia and carbon become Mg gas and CO gas and is accompanied by mass reduction, the magnesia-carbon reactivity was evaluated using this mass reduction rate. That is, the smaller the value of the mass reduction rate, the more the magnesia-carbon reaction is suppressed. Further, as a pretreatment, the sample is reduced and calcined in a charcoal material at a temperature of 1500 ° C. for 10 hours to remove volatile components in the resin. In Tables 1 to 3, ⊚ is a sample having a mass reduction rate of 0% by mass or more and less than 5% by mass, and ◯ is a sample having a mass loss rate of 5% by mass or more and less than 15% by mass. The sample is a sample having a mass reduction rate of 15% by mass or more. It was judged that the sample of × was not suitable for use in an actual furnace because the deterioration had progressed to the extent that the shape as a refractory could not be maintained.
3.4 Oxidation resistance Oxidation resistance was evaluated by a high temperature heating test in the atmosphere. This high temperature heating test was carried out using an electric furnace with an adjustable atmosphere. The test temperature was set to 1700 ° C. to create an air atmosphere, and compressed air was blown in to promote the carbon oxidation reaction. Since the carbon oxidation reaction is a reaction in which carbon becomes CO gas or CO2 gas and is accompanied by mass reduction, the oxidation resistance was evaluated using this mass reduction rate. That is, the smaller the value of the mass reduction rate, the more the carbon oxidation reaction is suppressed.
