Abstract
Description
時間に達することもある範囲内の平衡時間が続く(Bass et al., 2012;Assayag et al.,
2006)。生成したCO2は、次に、主としてガス質量分析計(IRMS、例:Delt
a V、Thermo Fisher)を、より少ない場合として赤外線分光計(例:Delta Ray、Picarro)を備えた検出システムに送られる。これら2つの方法は、単独の分析技術であり、保存され、その後実験室で処理されたサンプルを用いる必要がある。用いられる技術は、時間が掛かり、高価なものであり、実験室内又はさらには現場においても、連続的に分析を行うことはできない。
これらの技術は、同位体比を得るという目的に適合しない。
− 従来の酸を濃オルトリン酸(85〜102%)に置き換える。これによって、他の従来の無機酸(HCl、HNO3、H2SO4、HF)に自然に含有されている水との相互作用を低減することが可能となった。加えて、この新規なアセンブリは、他の酸ともCO2を効率的に発生させることが示された。
− 対象の分析物を還元してその水素化物の形態とするのに還元剤を必要とする従来の水素化物発生法とは対照的に、本発明の状況では、排出液からガス(すなわちCO2)を発生させるのに、他の試薬は必要ない。これを行うために、ハイブリッドICPの還元剤投入部を閉じ、それによって、水素化物発生装置に、3つではなく2つの試薬、酸性化試
薬及び分析するべきサンプルのみがフィードされるようにした。
− プラズマ源分光分析(plasma-source spectrometric analysis)に適する不活性キャリアガス(アルゴン)の代わりに、炭素及び酸素同位体分析専用の分光計と適合するガスを選択した。同位体比質量分析計(IRMS)に対しては、ヘリウムがキャリアガスであり、キャビティリングダウン型の分光計(CRDS;モデルG2131−i、Picarro Inc.)又はDelta rayモデル、Thermo Fisher Inc.などの同位体比赤外線分光計(IRIS)に対しては、キャリアガスは、CO2フリー合成空気である。これらのキャリアガスの選択は、イオン化源を保護する(IRMSの場合)、又は分析器内部の光学的条件を最適化する(CRDS及びIRIS型の場合)。本発明は、気液分離器に送られる排出液中のDICの組成を持つCO2の連続流を提供する能力という点でも、IRMS及びCRDS/IRIS分析器に適用される。
− 混合条件(酸と排出液との間の反応のためのループの長さ、混合物中の酸と排出液との割合)、さらにはCO2の生成(ポンプ速度、酸及び排出液を混合物中に運ぶ配管の径)も、最大のCO2生成のために最適化される。
− 分析システムに送られるガスの圧力を調節し、最適化するために、気液分離器と分析システムとの間に、オープンスリット型の過剰ガス出口部が付与されてよい。
− 排出液は、吸引され、混合され、気液分離を受ける。生成したCO2は、極めて短い時間スケールで(一般的には、1秒間から1分間のスケールで)連続流として分析システムへ運ばれる。
− 排出液が気液分離器システムに入るのに要する時間、及び生成したCO2が分析システムに到達するのに要する時間とは独立して、本発明は、気液分離器中でのガスの滞留時間及び気液分離器と分析器との間での輸送の過程での混合プロセスによってのみ制限されるスケールで、DICの濃度及び同位体組成の変化を分析することを可能とするものである。第一のプロトタイプ(およそ10cm3の気液分離器容量)によると、スケールは、主として分離チャンバーの容量に依存して、約1〜6秒間であると推計された。この時間スケールは、気液分離器の容量を低下させることによって、キャリアガスの連続流を増加させることによって、及び気液分離器と分析器との接続距離を短くすることによって、さらに1秒間未満に短縮可能である。

− キャリアガスシリンダー(8)と分離チャンバー(12)との間に配置され、反応ループ(7)中で生成されたCO2を捕捉するためにキャリアガスシリンダー(8)から分離チャンバー(12)へ送られるキャリアガスの流量(11)を制御する圧力レギュレータ(9)及び制御ユニット(10);
− 脱気された残留流体を、ポンプ(5)を介して回収するために分離チャンバー(12)の下流に配置された廃液貯留槽(15);
− 分離チャンバーの下流に配置された水及び粒子トラップ(18);
− 所望に応じて存在してよい、流量を調節するための、分離チャンバー(12)と水及び粒子トラップ(18)との間に配置されたオープンスリット型の過剰ガス出口部(17);
− 水及び粒子トラップ(18)の下流に配置された検出システム(19)、
を備える、又はこれらから成る。
フリー合成空気(すなわち、20%の酸素、79%の窒素、及び1%のアルゴンを含む混合物)から選択される。
a)分析されるべき液体サンプル及び酸性化試薬を、それぞれ一定の流量F1(3)及びF2(4)でポンプ(5)へ運ぶこと;

f)サンプルから脱気された、工程e)で得たCO2を含有するキャリアガスのフロー(16)を、所望に応じて流量調節のためのオープンスリット(17)を通した後に、水及び粒子トラップ(18)を通して運ぶこと;
g)酸性化試薬及び脱気されたサンプルから構成される残留流体を、廃液貯留槽(15)へ運ぶこと;
h)DIC由来のCO2ガスを含有するキャリアガスのフロー(16)を、検出システム(19)へ運ぶこと;
i)溶存無機炭素(DIC)の濃度、並びに/又は同位体炭素及び酸素組成を、前記検出システム(19)によって特定すること、
を含む、又はこれらから成る。
この実験では、本発明に従って用いた水素化物発生装置及び従来の平衡法(Smajgl et al. 2017 19th EGU General Assembly, EGU2017, proceedings from the conference held April 23-28, 2017 in Vienna, Austria., p.9793)[6]で得た測定値を比較するた
めに、7つのミネラル水及び海水をδ13C及びδ18Oについて測定した。これら2種類の測定を、Delta Ray分析器で行った。これらの方法の間の相関の直線は、0.99の相関係数を有する。

−ガス流量:80ml/分
この例では、2つの標準(Merckの分析用Na2CO3及びMerckの分析用NaHCO3)を調製した。5つの異なる濃度:150;300;600;800及び10
00ppm、を得るために、これらの標準を蒸留水に溶解し、これによって、本発明に従って用いた水素化物発生装置によるδ13C及びδ18Oの測定値に対する溶液中のCO2濃度の影響を特定することができた。この実験では、ループサイズを500μlに固定し、ポンプ速度は40rpmとした。
本発明に従って水素化物発生装置を用いたこの例では、5つのペリスタポンプ速度:10;20;40;60及び80rpm、を試験した。この実験では、ループサイズを500μlに固定し、3つのサンプル:プランコエのミネラル水、Na2CO3(1000ppm)、及びNaHCO3(1000ppm)、について測定した。明らかに、ポンプ速度が上がるほど、CO2濃度が高くなっており、酸とサンプルとの間の交換がより効率的であることが明らかであるが、一方δ13C測定値は、比較的安定している。低ポンプ速度では、δ18Oはある程度の変動を示しており、これはおそらく、生成されたCO2の濃度が低いことに起因する。
本発明に従って水素化物発生装置を用いたこの例では、4つのループ長さ:0.5;2;3及び4.5ml、を試験した。この実験では、ポンプ速度を40rpmに設定し、3つのサンプル:プランコエのミネラル水、Na2CO3(1000ppm)、及びNaHCO3(1000ppm)、について試験した。明らかに、ループサイズが大きい程、CO2濃度は低下しており、酸とサンプルとの間の交換の効率が低下している可能性がある。
この例では、やはり水素化物発生装置を、本発明及び以下の表(a)の特性に従って用いた。

Claims (13)

− チューブのアセンブリであって、各々が、流体を各々が含有する貯留槽(1)、(2)に接続され、及び前記チューブの下流に配置されたポンプ(5)に接続された、チューブのアセンブリ;
− 前記ポンプ(5)の下流に配置され、前記ポンプ(5)に運ばれた前記流体が動的に混合される混合チャンバー(6);
− 前記反応チャンバー(6)の下流に配置され、酸−塩基反応に従って前記DICをCO2ガスに変換することができる反応ループ(7);

− 前記キャリアガスシリンダー(8)と前記分離チャンバー(12)との間に配置され、前記反応ループ(7)中で生成した前記CO2を捕捉するために前記キャリアガスシリンダー(8)から前記分離チャンバー(12)へ送られるキャリアガスの流量(11)を制御する圧力レギュレータ(9)及び制御ユニット(10);
− 脱気された残留流体を、前記ポンプ(5)を介して回収するために前記分離チャンバー(12)の下流に配置された廃液貯留槽(15);
− 前記分離チャンバーの下流に配置された水及び粒子トラップ(18);
− 所望に応じて存在してよい、前記流量を調節するための、前記分離チャンバー(12)と前記水及び粒子トラップ(18)との間に配置されたオープンスリット(17);
− 前記水及び粒子トラップ(18)の下流に配置された検出システム(19)、
を備える、装置。 - 前記反応チャンバー(12)が、脱気(13)を最適化するために、拡張及び処理された表面を有する壁を備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記分離チャンバー(12)の前記壁が、すりガラスから作られている、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記貯留槽(1)が、分析されるべき前記液体サンプルを含有し、前記貯留槽(2)が、酸性化試薬、好ましくは無水酸、最も優先的にはオルトリン酸を含有する、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記検出システム(19)が、赤外線レーザー分光計型、キャビティリングダウン型、又は同位体比赤外線分光計型の分析器である、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記キャリアガスが、ヘリウム及びCO2フリー合成空気から選択される、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 液体サンプル中の溶存無機炭素(DIC)の濃度、並びに/又は前記溶存無機炭素の同位体炭素及び酸素組成を連続分析するための方法であって、前記方法は:
a)分析されるべき前記液体サンプル及び酸性化試薬を、それぞれ一定の流量F1(3)及びF2(4)でポンプ(5)へ運ぶこと;
b)前記2つの流体を、混合チャンバー(6)へ注入し、混合すること;
c)工程b)で得た流体の前記混合物を、酸塩基反応によって完全に又は部分的に前記DICをCO2ガスに変換することできる反応ループ(7)へ運ぶこと;
d)工程c)で得たガスと液体との前記混合物を、分離チャンバー(12)へ運ぶこと
;
e)CO2を含まないキャリアガスのフロー(11)を前記分離チャンバー(12)へ注入して、工程c)で生成し、前記分離チャンバー(12)で遊離された(13)前記CO2ガスを捕捉すること;
f)前記サンプルから脱気された、工程e)で得た前記CO2を含有するキャリアガスのフロー(16)を、所望に応じて流量調節のためのオープンスリット(17)を通した後に、水及び粒子トラップ(18)を通して運ぶこと;
g)前記酸性化試薬及び前記脱気されたサンプルから構成される残留流体を、廃液貯留槽(15)へ運ぶこと;
h)前記DIC由来の前記CO2ガスを含有するキャリアガスの前記フロー(16)を、検出システム(19)へ運ぶこと;
i)前記DICの濃度、並びに/又は前記DICの前記同位体炭素及び酸素組成を、前記検出システム(19)によって特定すること、
を含む、方法。 - 工程a)が、それぞれ750μl/分及び190μl/分のオーダーの一定のサンプル流量F1(3)及び一定の酸性化試薬流量F2(4)の下で行われる、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 工程e)が、分析されるべき前記サンプルに応じて、0.5〜4.5mlの範囲内の長さである反応ループを用いて行われる、請求項7及び8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程e)が、ヘリウム及びCO2フリー合成空気から選択されるキャリアガスを用いる、請求項7から9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記フロー(11)が、前記検出システム(19)に到達するCO2ガスの量を最適化するために、圧力レギュレータ(9)と制御ユニット(10)とによって制御される、請求項7から10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程a)が、無水酸、好ましくはオルトリン酸である酸性化試薬を用いて行われる、請求項7から11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程i)が、同位体比赤外線レーザー分光計型の分析器によって行われる、請求項7から12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
