Abstract
Description
本出願は、その全体が参照により本明細書に組み込まれる、2019年3月21日に出願された米国仮出願第62/821,762号の利益を主張する。
本開示は、概して、金属/ポリマー複合材料に関し、より詳細には、鋼と強化炭素繊維との軽量複合材料、及びその製造方法に関する。
ボールミルジャーに、0.0136gの炭素、0.06gのマンガン、7.9264gの鉄、及び6.28gの水素化ホウ素リチウムを添加する。これを不活性雰囲気下で4時間ボールミル粉砕する。鋼−AERC製品をTHFで洗浄し、99.08%Fe、0.17%C、0.75%Mnの組成を有する鋼ナノ粒子を形成した。生成した鋼ナノ粒子が単離される。
実施例Iの鋼ナノ粒子を、炭素繊維の織物の分散層を有するパンチ及びダイに装填する。鋼ナノ粒子粉末は、この装填工程中に炭素繊維織物の繊維間の隙間に入り込むように促進される。次いで、この材料を430℃、60MPaで4時間焼結する。この製品は、図1及び図2に示すように、鋼マトリックスに一体化された強化炭素繊維を有する複合鋼である。
Claims (14)
- 焼結鋼ナノ粒子の連続鋼マトリックス、及び
前記鋼マトリックス内に封入された少なくとも1つの構造用炭素繊維であって、約5mm未満の平均断面繊維直径を有している、前記少なくとも1つの構造用炭素繊維、
を有しており、かつ
前記少なくとも1つの構造用炭素繊維は、前記連続鋼マトリックスの外表面から測定したときに、少なくとも1cmの侵入深さまで前記連続鋼マトリックスに侵入している、
複合材料。 - 前記構造用炭素繊維が、炭素繊維布又は炭素繊維織物の形態として提供される、請求項1に記載の複合材料。
- 繊維侵入深さ対繊維平均断面直径の比が、約200:1より大きい、請求項1に記載の複合材料。
- 繊維侵入深さ対繊維平均断面径の比率が、約103:1より大きい、請求項1に記載の複合材料。
- 繊維侵入深さ対繊維平均断面径の比率が、約104:1より大きい、請求項1に記載の複合材料。
- 繊維侵入深さ対繊維平均断面径の比率が、約105:1より大きい、請求項1に記載の複合材料。
- 前記少なくとも1つの構造用炭素繊維が、約1mm未満の平均断面直径を有する繊維を含む、請求項1に記載の複合材料。
- 前記少なくとも1つの構造用炭素繊維が、約0.5mm未満の平均断面直径を有する繊維を含む、請求項1に記載の複合材料。
- 約1ミリメートル未満の平均断面直径を有する繊維を含む構造用炭素繊維成分、及び前記炭素繊維成分の周囲及び内部に形成された焼結鋼ナノ粒子の連続鋼マトリックスを含んでおり、前記構造用炭素繊維成分は、連続鋼マトリックスの外面から測定して少なくとも1センチメートルの繊維侵入深さまで連続鋼マトリックスに侵入している、複合材料。
- 繊維侵入深さ対繊維平均断面直径の比が、約200:1より大きい、請求項9に記載の複合材料。
- 繊維侵入深さ対繊維平均断面径の比率が、約103:1より大きい、請求項9に記載の複合材料。
- 繊維侵入深さ対繊維平均断面径の比率が、約104:1より大きい、請求項9に記載の複合材料。
- 繊維侵入深さ対繊維平均断面径の比率が、約105:1より大きい、請求項9に記載の複合材料。
