本開示は、概して、接着剤の分野、より詳細には、感圧性接着剤(PSA)の分野に関する。本開示はまた、かかる感圧性接着剤を塗布する方法及びその使用に関する。
接着剤は、様々なマーキング、保持、保護、封止、及び遮蔽目的のために使用されている。接着テープは、一般に、バッキング又は基材、及び接着剤を含む。多くの用途に特に好まれる1つのタイプの接着剤は、感圧性接着剤に代表されるものである。
一態様によると、本開示は、平坦でない表面を備えた基材への接合に好適な感圧性接着剤アセンブリに関し、この感圧性接着剤アセンブリは、ポリマーベース材料と、熱可塑性材料を有する微粒子充填材料と、を含有するポリマー発泡体層を含み、ポリマー発泡体層は、実験の項に記載される試験方法に従って120℃で測定したとき、2,000Pa・s〜80,000Pa・sの複素粘度を有する。
a)上記のポリマー発泡体層を、熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を上回る温度での加熱工程に供し、それによって、熱可塑性材料をポリマー発泡体層内で溶融させる工程と、
b)工程a)で得られた加熱されたポリマー発泡体層を、基材の平坦でない表面に接触させる工程と、
c)ポリマー発泡体層を、基材上で、熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を下回る温度で冷却する工程と、を含む。
第1の態様によると、本開示は、平坦でない表面を備えた基材への接合に好適な感圧性接着剤アセンブリに関し、この感圧性接着剤アセンブリは、ポリマーベース材料と、熱可塑性材料を有する微粒子充填材料と、を含有するポリマー発泡体層を含み、ポリマー発泡体層は、実験の項に記載される試験方法に従って120℃で測定したとき、2,000Pa・s〜80,000Pa・sの複素粘度を有する。
a)60〜100重量部、70〜95重量部、80〜95重量部又は85〜95重量部の、(フリーラジカル)重合性モノマー、特に(メタ)アクリレートエステルモノマーと、
b)任意に、0〜40重量部、5〜30重量部、5〜20重量部又は5〜15重量部の、エチレン性不飽和基を有するコモノマー、特にアクリル酸モノマーと、
を含む。
(a)主要モノマーがイソ−オクチル(メタ)アクリレート、2−エチルへキシル(メタ)アクリレート、2−プロピルヘプチル(メタ)アクリレート、ブチルアクリレートからなる群から好ましくは選択される、主要モノマーとしての直鎖又は分枝鎖アルキル(メタ)アクリレートエステルと、
(b)任意に、エチレン性不飽和基を有する第2のモノマー、好ましくはアクリレート主要モノマーと共重合可能である強化用モノエチレン性不飽和モノマーと、を含む。
a)上記のポリマー発泡体層を、熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を上回る温度での加熱工程に供し、それによって、熱可塑性材料をポリマー発泡体層内で溶融させる工程と、
b)工程a)で得られた加熱されたポリマー発泡体層を、基材の平坦でない表面に接触させる工程と、
c)ポリマー発泡体層を、基材上で、熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を下回る温度で冷却する工程と、を含む。
a)項目1〜41のいずれかに記載のポリマー発泡体層を、熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を上回る温度での加熱工程に供し、それによって、熱可塑性材料をポリマー発泡体層内で溶融させる工程と、
b)工程a)で得られた加熱されたポリマー発泡体層を、基材の平坦でない表面に接触させる工程と、
c)ポリマー発泡体層を、基材上で、熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を下回る温度で冷却する工程と、を含む。
120℃における複素粘度
全ての粘度測定は、標準的なレオメータ−である、プレート/プレート型のDynamic Analyzer RDAII(Rheometrics)(プレート直径は8mm)で実施する。温度制御は、オーブンを用いて、20K/分(−253℃/分)の加熱速度で達成される。5%の変形は、1Hzの振動周波数で適用される。粘度は、室温から160℃までの測定の間に連続的に観測する。更なる評価のため、20℃及び120℃における粘度値を、上記の実験から測定する。全ての評価は、Rheometric Scientificから入手可能なRSI Orchestratorソフトウェア(version V6.5.4 B2)を使用することによって実施する。
4×4cmの寸法を有する試験サンプルを切り出し、オーブン(Hereausから市販されている)内に、120℃+/−2℃で120分+/−5分間置く。熱処理の前後に、試験片を精密天秤(Sartoriusから市販されている)で秤量する。試験結果(重量損失)は、重量%で示し、2回の測定値の平均を表す。
平坦でない表面におけるウェッティング(又は適用)性能は、独自のスポット溶接T−プラグ試験で測定する。自動車用クリア塗料(CC5.3)でコーティングしたアルミニウムパネルを、スポット溶接を模倣した別個のトポロジーを備える平坦でない表面を作るために機械的に処理する。
a)アルミニウムT−Block:幅10mmのドリル穴のある寸法25mm×25mm及び高さ25mmのAlMg3、T−Profile、材料厚さ3mm。
実施例では、以下の原材料を使用する。
2−エチルヘキシルアクリレート(C8−アクリレート、2−EHA)は、2−エチルアルコールとアクリル酸のエステルであり、BASF SE(Germany)から入手する。
アクリル酸(AA)は、Arkema(Italy)から入手する。
1,6−ヘキサンジオールジアクリレート(HDDA)は、即硬化性ジアクリレートであり、BASF SE(Germany)から入手できる。
Omnirad BDK、2,2−ジメトキシ−2−フェニルアセトフェノンは、ラジカル重合用UV反応開始剤であり、iGm resins(Waalwijk Netherlands)から市販されている。
低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)は微粒子充填材料であり、A.Schulmann Inc.(The Netherlands)からICORENE N2170の商標名で市販されている。
3M Glass bubbles(K15)は、直径115μmの中空ガラスバブルであり、3M(Germany)から入手可能である。
Aerosil R−972は、疎水性ヒュームドシリカ粒子であり、Evonik(Germany)から入手可能である。
ポリマー発泡体層PF1及びPF2並びに比較例C1及びC2は、C8アクリレート(2−EHA)と、光開始剤として0.04pphのOmnirad BDKをガラス容器中で最初に予備重合することによって調製する。UV曝露を開始する前に、混合物に10分間窒素を流す。窒素はまた、空気をポリマー前駆体に添加することによって重合プロセスが停止されるまで、混合物中に常時バブリングする。混合物を常にプロペラ攪拌器(300U/分)で攪拌し、約4500mPasの粘度(Brookfield粘度計、T=25℃、スピンドル4、12rpmで測定したときに)に達すると、反応を停止する。加えて、残りの量の0.36pphのOmnirad BDK、0.1pphのHDDA架橋剤、選択量のガラスバブルK15、5pphのAerosil 972、選択量のアクリル酸、及び選択量のLDPE熱可塑性充填剤をポリマー前駆体組成物に加え、機械的撹拌機を用いて15分間均質化し、デシケータ−内で15分間真空脱気する。
ポリマー発泡体層の作製に使用する硬化性前駆体の配合を、下記の表2に記載する。表2は、熱可塑性粒子材料を含まないポリマー発泡体層である比較例C1及びC2を含有する。
SW−T−プラグ試験、600μmスポット溶接
ポリマー発泡体層PF1及びPF2から作製した感圧性接着剤アセンブリ(それぞれ実施例E1及びE2)、並びに圧性接着剤アセンブリ比較例CE1及びCE2(それぞれ比較ポリマー発泡体層C1及びC2から作製)の剥離試験結果を下の表4に示す。ポリマー発泡体ストリップを従来のオーブン内で120℃で熱処理する前(室温)及び後の感圧性接着剤アセンブリについて、結果を示す。
Claims (20)
- ポリマーベース材料と、熱可塑性材料を有する微粒子充填材料と、を含有し、かつ実験の項に記載する試験方法に従って120℃にて測定したとき、2,000Pa・s〜80,000Pa・sの複素粘度を有するポリマー発泡体層を含む、
平坦でない表面を備える基材への結合に適した、感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。 - 前記ポリマー発泡体層が、実験の項に記載する試験方法に従って120℃にて測定したとき、2,000Pa・s〜60,000Pa・s、2,500Pa・s〜50,000Pa・s、3,000Pa・s〜40,000Pa・s、3,500Pa・s〜35,000Pa・s、4,000Pa・s〜30,000Pa・s、4,000Pa・s〜20,000Pa・s、4,000Pa・s〜15,000Pa・s、又は4,000Pa・s〜10,000Pa・sの複素粘度を有する、請求項1に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記熱可塑性材料が、室温において前記ポリマーベース材料と不混和性である、請求項1又は2に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記ポリマーベース材料が、実験の項に記載される試験方法に従って測定したときに、少なくとも90%、少なくとも95%、又は少なくとも98%の反応率を有する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記熱可塑性材料が、ポリオレフィン、エチレン−酢酸ビニルコポリマー、ポリスチレン、ポリエステル、及びこれらの混合物の任意の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記熱可塑性材料が、ポリオレフィン、特に低密度又は線形低密度ポリエチレン、中密度ポリエチレン、高密度ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリブチレン、及び、任意のポリオレフィンコポリマー又はターポリマーからなる群から選択される、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記平坦でない表面が、空洞、孔、開口、オリフィス、へこみ、穴、間隙、溝、エッジ、くぼみ、及びこれらの任意の組み合わせからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの構造を備える、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記構造が、スポット溶接、レーザー溶接、リベット、パンチリベット、クリンチポイント、ラウンド接合、ポイント接合、及びこれらの任意の組み合わせの群から選択される、請求項7に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記平坦でない表面が、曲線状の表面、湾曲した表面、ねじれた表面、傾斜した表面、弓状の表面、弧状の表面、及びこれらの任意の組み合わせの群から選択される、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記基材が、金属、プラスチック、強化プラスチック、複合材料、ガラス材料、クリア塗料、木材、コーティング材、及びこれらの任意の組み合わせからなる群から選択される主要材料を含む、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記ポリマー発泡体層を前記熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を上回る温度での加熱工程に供することによって得ることができる、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記加熱工程が、少なくとも5K/s、少なくとも10K/s、少なくとも30K/s、少なくとも40K/s、少なくとも50K/s、少なくとも60K/s、少なくとも80K/s、少なくとも100K/s、少なくとも120K/s、少なくとも140K/s、少なくとも160K/s、少なくとも180K/s、少なくとも200K/s、少なくとも220K/s、少なくとも240K/s、又は少なくとも250K/sの加熱速度で実施される、請求項11に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記加熱工程が、前記ポリマー発泡体層を、熱的加熱、輻射加熱、対流加熱、誘導加熱、超音波振動加熱、及びこれらの任意の組み合わせのうちのいずれかに供することによって実施される、請求項11又は12に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記加熱工程が、前記ポリマー発泡体層を、誘導加熱、超音波振動加熱、及びこれらの任意の組み合わせのうちのいずれかに供することによって実施される、請求項13に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 前記ポリマーベース材料が、ポリアクリレート、ポリウレタン、ポリオレフィン、ポリアミン、ポリアミド、ポリエステル、ポリエーテル、ポリイソブチレン、ポリスチレン、ポリビニル、ポリビニルピロリドン、天然ゴム、合成ゴム、ハロゲン化ポリマー、及びこれらの任意の、組み合わせ、コポリマー又は混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1〜14のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 実験の項に記載されるT−プラグ試験方法に従って室温で測定したとき、150N超、180N超、200N超、220N超、240N超、250N超、260N超、280N超、又は300N超の粘着強度値を有する、請求項1〜15のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリ。
- 平坦でない表面を備えた基材に感圧性接着剤アセンブリを適用する方法であって、
a)請求項1〜16のいずれか一項に記載のポリマー発泡体層を、前記熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を上回る温度での加熱工程に供し、それによって、前記熱可塑性材料を前記ポリマー発泡体層内で溶融させる工程と、
b)工程a)で得られた加熱されたポリマー発泡体層を、前記基材の平坦でない表面に接触させる工程と、
c)前記ポリマー発泡体層を、前記基材上で、前記熱可塑性材料の溶融温度を下回る温度で冷却する工程と、
を含む、方法。 - 前記加熱工程が、少なくとも5K/s、少なくとも10K/s、少なくとも30K/s、少なくとも40K/s、少なくとも50K/s、少なくとも60K/s、少なくとも80K/s、少なくとも100K/s、少なくとも120K/s、少なくとも140K/s、少なくとも160K/s、少なくとも180K/s、少なくとも200K/s、少なくとも220K/s、少なくとも240K/s、又は少なくとも250K/sの加熱速度で実施される、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記加熱工程が、前記ポリマー発泡体層を、熱的加熱、輻射加熱、対流加熱、誘導加熱、超音波振動加熱、及びこれらの任意の組み合わせのうちのいずれかに供することによって実施される、請求項17又は18に記載の方法。
- 工業用途、特に建築用途及び自動車用途、より具体的には、自動車産業向けのボディ用テープ式シール、ドア、エクステリア及びインテリア部品の取り付け用テープ式シール、並びにウェザーストリップテープ用途のための、請求項1〜16のいずれか一項に記載の感圧性接着剤アセンブリの使用又は請求項17〜19のいずれか一項に記載の方法の使用。
