Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a vehicle including an engine having a plurality of cylinders.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2014-74336 (Patent Document 1) discloses that in a vehicle including an engine having a plurality of cylinders, when combustion abnormality (preignition) is detected in a part of the plurality of cylinders, fuel to the abnormal cylinders is disclosed. It is disclosed to perform an operation that cuts and operates the engine with only normal cylinders (hereinafter also referred to as “abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation”).
When the above-mentioned abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation is performed, if the engine load becomes high, the fuel injection amount to the normal cylinder is increased and the rich state is caused, so that combustion does not occur in the normal cylinder. Unburned gas can flow out to the exhaust pipe. If unburned gas that has flowed into the exhaust pipe reacts with air (oxygen) from the abnormal cylinder and burns, there is a concern that the catalyst provided in the exhaust pipe is heated and eventually becomes overheated.
As a measure to prevent catalyst overheating, when the temperature of the catalyst is equal to or higher than a threshold value, the engine is cut off for all cylinders including normal cylinders to stop the engine (hereinafter referred to as “all cylinder fuel cut operation”). ")".
However, if the abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation and the all cylinder fuel cut operation are switched according to the temperature of the catalyst, hunting may occur between the two operations. That is, during the all-cylinder fuel cut operation, the temperature of the catalyst decreases because the catalyst is cooled by the air discharged from each cylinder. On the other hand, during the abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation, the temperature of the catalyst tends to increase as described above. is there. Therefore, even if the temperature of the catalyst falls below the threshold value due to the all-cylinder fuel cut operation and is switched to the abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation, the high load state of the engine continues after switching to the abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation. As a result, there is a possibility that the temperature of the catalyst again rises above the threshold value and is returned to the all-cylinder fuel cut operation.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and an object thereof is to make it difficult for hunting between an abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation and an all cylinder fuel cut operation to occur.
A vehicle according to the present invention includes an engine having a plurality of cylinders, a catalyst for purifying exhaust from the engine, and a control device for controlling the engine. The control device stops the fuel supply to the plurality of cylinders when the abnormal cylinder in which the combustion abnormality occurs in some of the plurality of cylinders and the temperature of the catalyst is equal to or higher than the threshold value. The control device stops supplying fuel to the abnormal cylinder and supplies fuel to normal cylinders other than the abnormal cylinder when the abnormal cylinder is included in some of the plurality of cylinders and the temperature of the catalyst is lower than the threshold value. At the same time, when the retard amount of the ignition timing of the normal cylinder is large, at least one of the engine power and the rotational speed is set to a smaller value than when it is small.
According to the above configuration, when the fuel supply to the abnormal cylinder is stopped and the fuel is supplied to the normal cylinder (that is, when the abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation is performed), it is small when the retard amount of the ignition timing of the normal cylinder is large. Compared to the case, the output (at least one of power and rotational speed) of the engine is limited. As a result, even during an abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation, even if the exhaust temperature can rise due to the retard of the ignition timing, the engine output is limited and the overall engine heat generation is suppressed. As a total, the rise in exhaust temperature is suppressed. Therefore, it is possible to suppress an increase in the catalyst temperature during the abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation and make it difficult to switch to the all cylinder fuel cut operation. As a result, hunting between the abnormal cylinder fuel cut operation and the all cylinder fuel cut operation can be made difficult to occur.

The
<Switching engine operating mode>
The
The normal mode is a mode in which fuel is supplied to all cylinders of
The fuel cut mode is a mode in which the fuel supply to at least the abnormal cylinder is stopped when a part of the plurality of cylinders of the
The abnormal cylinder fuel cut mode is a mode in which the fuel supply is stopped only in the abnormal cylinder, the fuel is supplied to cylinders other than the abnormal cylinder (hereinafter also referred to as “normal cylinder”), and the
On the other hand, the all cylinder fuel cut mode is a mode in which the fuel supply to all cylinders including the abnormal cylinder and the normal cylinder is stopped and the
When an abnormal cylinder is detected when an engine operation request is made, in order to respond to the engine operation request, an abnormal cylinder that operates the
Therefore,
<Engine output limit during abnormal cylinder FC>
As described above, when the abnormal cylinder FC and all the cylinders FC are switched according to the catalyst temperature THc, hunting may occur between the two operations. That is, while the
Therefore, the
FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing a processing procedure performed when
In step (hereinafter, step is abbreviated as “S”) 10,
If there is an engine operation request (YES in S10),
If there is no abnormal cylinder (NO in S11),
On the other hand, when there is an abnormal cylinder (YES in S11),
When catalyst temperature THc is equal to or higher than the threshold value (NO in S20),
On the other hand, when catalyst temperature THc is lower than the threshold value (YES in S20),
Further, in S23,
The restriction target in S23 may be the power of
Hereinafter, in the process of S23, the upper limit value of the power of the engine 100 (hereinafter also referred to as “upper limit engine power Pemax”) and the upper limit value of the rotation speed of the engine 100 (hereinafter also referred to as “upper limit engine speed Nemax”) are determined. The case where it restrict | limits according to angular amount is demonstrated exemplarily.

FIG. 5 is a diagram schematically showing a correspondence relationship between the ignition retardation amount and the upper limit engine rotational speed Nemax. As shown in FIG. 5, the
As described above, the
In the above-described embodiment, the case where the present invention is applied to a hybrid vehicle including the
