Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a chloroprene latex composition, and more particularly to a chloroprene latex composition having a good balance between adhesive strength and stability in a wet state.
Adhesives are required to have adhesive strength such as initial strength, heat resistance strength, and water resistance strength. Solvent-based adhesives based on chloroprene rubber and the like have been used for various applications because of their good workability and adhesive properties. However, the organic solvent used has an adverse effect on the global environment and the health of workers, and sometimes has a risk of causing a fire in the workplace. Therefore, the demand for solvent removal is increasing.
As one of the methods for removing the solvent, it has been considered to use a latex adhesive.
Various things are known as chloroprene latex for adhesives. (For example, Patent Documents 1 to 3 and Non-Patent Document 1)
These are assumed to be bonded after applying and drying the adhesive, and cannot be bonded without being dried. However, since the drying speed of water is slower than that of the solvent, there is a problem that the working efficiency is lowered due to the extension of the drying waiting time. In particular, on-site construction or the like is often performed by room temperature drying, and weather conditions also affect the dryness. Therefore, even if it enforces on the same conditions, problems, such as a variation in the adhesive physical property due to the difference in the degree of drying, and a poor adhesion due to undried are generated.
In view of this, a technique that enables bonding in an undried wet state has been considered. Various types of chloroprene latex having improved adhesive properties in a wet state are known (for example, Patent Documents 4 to 6).
However, in the latex in which the pH is adjusted and the gel content is contained as in Patent Document 4, the degree of destabilization varies depending on the pH in order to destabilize the latex by adjusting the pH and improve the adhesive properties in a wet state. . For this reason, the pH is lowered by the dehydrochlorination of CR, so that the adhesive becomes too unstable and spray clogging occurs or the adhesive itself is solidified.
Further, when a specific nonionic emulsifier is used (for example, Patent Documents 5 and 6), storage stability at low temperatures is improved, but there are problems such as limitation of acids that can be used in pH adjustment.
On the other hand, the stability of latex during storage is maintained by limiting the types of acids that can be used (for example, Patent Document 7), but the adhesive properties are not satisfactory.
The present invention has been made in view of this problem, and provides a chloroprene latex composition having good adhesive strength and stability in a wet state.
As a result of diligent studies to solve the above problems under the above background, the present inventor includes an emulsifier having an alkali metal salt of a carboxylic acid, an alkali metal salt of a sulfonic acid having no emulsifying ability, and a pH adjuster, It has been found that by using a chloroprene latex composition having a pH of 2 to 6.9, both adhesive strength and stability in a wet state can be achieved. That is, the present invention includes an emulsifier having an alkali metal salt of carboxylic acid, 0.4 to 1.5 parts by weight of an alkali metal salt of sulfonic acid having no emulsifying ability with respect to 100 parts by weight of chloroprene latex, and a pH regulator. A chloroprene latex composition characterized by having a pH of 2 to 6.9.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail.
The chloroprene latex composition of the present invention comprises an emulsifier having an alkali metal salt of carboxylic acid, 0.4 to 1.5 parts by weight of an alkali metal salt of sulfonic acid having no emulsifying capacity with respect to 100 parts by weight of chloroprene latex, and It contains a pH regulator.
Examples of the emulsifier having an alkali metal salt of a carboxylic acid include an alkali metal salt of rosin acid, an alkali metal salt of a fatty acid, an alkali metal salt of an alkenyl succinic acid, and a polymer compound of an alkali metal salt of a polycarboxylic acid. . Examples of the alkali metal salt include lithium, sodium, potassium, cesium and the like. These may be one type or may include two or more types. From the viewpoint of polymerization stability and adhesive performance, an alkali metal salt of rosin acid is preferable, and a potassium salt of rosin acid is more preferable.
Examples of alkali metal salts of sulfonic acid that do not have emulsifying ability include alkali metal salts of aliphatic sulfonic acids having a short-chain alkyl chain having 6 or less carbon atoms, such as alkali metal salts of pentanesulfonic acid, and the like. Compound, alkali metal salt of benzenesulfonic acid, alkali metal salt of toluenesulfonic acid, alkali metal salt of butylnaphthalenesulfonic acid, alkali metal salt of aromatic sulfonic acid such as styrene sulfonate, and these aromatic sulfonates There may be one compound, and these may be one kind or two or more kinds. Of these, a condensate of naphthalene sulfonic acid and formaldehyde or a copolymer of styrene sulfonate and methacrylic acid is preferred from the viewpoint of latex stability during polymerization. The amount of the alkali metal salt of sulfonic acid having no emulsifying ability is 0.4 to 1.5 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the chloroprene latex. If the amount is less than 0.4 parts by weight, it is difficult to mix the adhesive. If the amount exceeds 1.5 parts by weight, rubber is deposited inside the reaction vessel during polymerization, or the storage stability of the adhesive is lowered. Since the balance of storage stability, compounding stability, and adhesive properties becomes better, 0.5 to 1.0 part by weight is preferable with respect to 100 parts by weight of latex.
Examples of the pH adjuster include acids and amino acids such as general inorganic acids and organic acids, and acidic polymer emulsions. So-called strong acids such as concentrated nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid are difficult to use because they destroy the latex, but are not particularly limited as long as the strong acid is removed, as long as the pH can be adjusted to 2 to 6.9. Specific examples include dilute aqueous solutions of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, boric acid powder, formic acid, acetic acid, oxalic acid, malic acid, malonic acid, citric acid and other acids having a carboxyl group, glycine and other amino acids. Can be added directly or in an aqueous solution. Among them, the pH can be easily adjusted by using boric acid, malonic acid, citric acid, maleic acid or the like in powder, and the solids content of the latex can be suppressed from being lowered. From the viewpoint of safety and adhesive properties, boric acid, malonic acid, and citric acid are preferable.
