本発明の有用なフィルム構造またはフィルム品は、キャスト、ブロー、カレンダーおよび押出被覆(多層フィルム、温室フィルム、透明収縮フィルムを含む収縮フィルム、積層フィルム、二軸延伸フィルム、押出被覆、ライナー、透明ライナー、オーバーラップフィルムおよび農業フィルムを含むがこれらに限定されない)を含む。単層フィルムおよび多層フィルムは米国特許第5,685,128号に記載されるフィルム構造および製造方法に従って製造され得る。
物理特性
試験方法
密度測定用の試料は、ASTM D1928に従って用意される。測定は、ASTM D792、方法Bを用いて試料加圧の1時間以内になされる。
曇り=内部曇り+表面曇り (方程式)
本発明の2例および2つの比較例の4例が報告される。同一のブロー・フィルム・ラインを用いて本発明のフィルムおよび比較フィルムの両方を作り出す。実施例1のフィルムは、エチレンおよび一酸化炭素からなる85重量%のエチレン共重合体(LDPE)(0.52g/10分のMIまたはI2、0.930g/ccの密度および1重量%のCO含量)ならびに15重量%のELITE5111G(0.85g/10分のI2、0.9255g/ccの密度、CO含有せず)を含み、共にダウケミカルカンパニー(Dow Chemical Company)から入手できる。比較実施例1のフィルム(CE−1)は、85重量%LDPE535E(0.60g/10分のMI、0.928g/ccの密度、CO含有せず、同様にダウケミカルカンパニー(Dow Chemical Company)から入手できる)および15重量%ELITE5111Gを含む。実施例2のフィルムは、60重量%のCOを含有する実施例1のLDPEおよび40重量%のELITE5111Gを含む。比較実施例2のフィルム(CE−2)は、60重量%のLDPE535Eおよび40重量%のELITE5111Gを含む。メルトインデックスは、ASTMD1238(190℃/2.16kg)に従って測定し、密度はASTM D792に従って測定する。
表2で報告する結果は、ECO共重合体を含まないフィルムと比較して、ECO共重合体を含むフィルムの他の機械特性を著しく妥協することなく、幾つかの機械特性に有意な改善を示す。ECO共重合体を含むフィルムは、(周知であるように)ECO共重合体を含まない点を除いて、あらゆる点で似ているフィルムより早く光分解する上に、ECO共重合体を含むこれらのフィルムは収縮および靱性に重要なダーツAの強化も示す。これらのフィルムは、牛眼状の外観、または例えば、「取っ手」(この取っ手により、収縮包装された水ボトルなどが持ち運びできる)である開放端部もしくは開放域の外観に重要な光沢(実施例2対CE−2)および降伏歪MD(実施例2対CE−2)、ならびに収縮に重要なMD収縮張力の強化も示す。さらに、本発明のフィルムは、より高い密度により低い係数(実施例1対CE−1の2%割線係数CD)、CDおよびMDエルメンドルフ引裂の強化、ならびにより高いCDおよびMDの最大引張および極限伸びを示す。
表2に報告したフィルム物理特性の測定について記載したものと同一の材料およびフィルム製造手順を用いて、5フィルム(それぞれ2.5ミルの厚さ)は、ASTM D5208−01に従って、Q−labのQUVテスター、モデルQUV/seで300時間UV光に曝す。試料は、窓が2.5インチ×3.75インチであるように3インチ×4.5インチ片に切断する。2つの試料が継続時間ごとに各窓から切断される。合計6反復で継続時間ごとに1試料当たり3つの窓を使用する。テスターで毎24時間、50℃で20時間の光および40℃で4時間の闇がある。QUVテスターの300時間は250光時と等価である(これは環境保護庁による分解の指定である)。
Claims (10)
- ポリマーブレンドから製造されるフィルム構造であって、前記ブレンドが(i)40から90重量%のエチレン/一酸化炭素(ECO)共重合体、および(ii)60から10重量%のLDPE、LLDPEおよびHDPEの少なくとも1つのエチレン共重合体を含むフィルム構造。
- ECO共重合体が0.1から18重量%の一酸化炭素を含む、請求項1に記載のフィルム構造。
- ポリマーブレンドが(i)60から85重量%のECO共重合体、および(ii)40から15重量%のLDPE、LLDPEおよびHDPEの少なくとも1つのエチレン共重合体を含む、請求項1に記載のフィルム構造。
- エチレン共重合体がLLDPEである、請求項3に記載のフィルム構造。
- 単層フィルムとしての請求項2に記載のフィルム構造。
- 層の少なくとも1層がECO共重合体を含む多層フィルムとしての請求項2に記載のフィルム構造。
- 少なくとも1つのフィルム層が100重量%ECO共重合体である、請求項6に記載のフィルム構造。
- 収縮フィルム、積層フィルム、ライナーフィルム、買い物袋、農業用フィルム、食品包装フィルム、または丈夫な輸送袋の形態の請求項2に記載のフィルム構造。
- 少なくとも15cNのMD収縮張力を有する、請求項1から8のいずれかに記載のフィルム構造。
- ASTM D1709により測定される少なくとも150gの落錘衝撃強度(ダーツA)を有する、請求項1から8のいずれかに記載のフィルム構造。
