Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composition and a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composition.
As a fiber reinforced composite material, a carbon fiber reinforced resin composed of a carbon fiber and a resin is known. Since carbon fiber reinforced resin has high mechanical strength, development is progressing as a material that can be applied in a wide range of fields such as aviation, space, sporting goods, general industrial use, civil engineering, architecture, and transportation equipment. It is out.
As a carbon fiber reinforced resin, a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composed of carbon fiber and a thermoplastic resin is known. The carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin is useful as one of fiber reinforced composite materials because it has better moldability and is suitable for mass production as compared with the case where a thermosetting resin is used as the resin.
However, in the conventional carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin, since the carbon fiber generally has poor wettability and impregnation with respect to the thermoplastic resin, poor adhesion and / or impregnation between the carbon fiber and the thermoplastic resin occurs, The physical properties could not be improved.
In order to solve such a problem, a sizing agent is applied to the carbon fiber (see, for example, Patent Document 1), and an electron beam is irradiated after the carbon fiber and the thermoplastic resin are combined (see, for example, Patent Document 2). ), Oxidizing the carbon fiber surface (see, for example, Patent Document 3), and the like.

Example 1
In order to remove the sizing agent previously attached to the carbon fiber cloth using a carbon fiber cloth having a thickness of 250 μm (Torayca (registered trademark) cloth C6343 manufactured by Toray Industries, Inc.), the carbon fiber cloth was sufficiently removed with acetone and toluene. Washed. Next, the washed carbon fiber cloth is sandwiched between the sheets (
(Examples 2 to 7)
A CFRTP sheet was prepared in the same manner as in Example 1 except that the pellets of Reference Examples 3 to 8 were used instead of the pellets of Reference Example 2.
(Comparative Example 1)
A CFRTP sheet was prepared in the same manner as in Example 1 except that the pellet of Reference Example 1 was used instead of the pellet of Reference Example 2.
The obtained CFRTP sheets of Examples 1 to 7 and Comparative Example 1 were cut into a dumbbell No. 2 shape with a dumbbell cutter and used as tensile test samples. This test sample was subjected to a tensile test under the conditions of a distance between chucks of 15 mm and a tensile test speed of 0.75 mm / min (n = 5 for each sample). The results are shown in Table 2 and FIGS.
In addition, in order to confirm the effect of improving the interface strength between the carbon fiber and the resin, the surface of the sample after the tensile test of Comparative Example 1 and Examples 1 to 3 was gold-deposited, and the fracture surface was observed with an electron microscope (FIG. 9: Comparative Example 1, FIGS. 10 to 12: Examples 1 to 3). From this result, it was seen that the larger the amount of fluorene compound (BPFG) added, the greater the amount of resin adhered to the carbon fiber surface.
