Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an improvement of a tilt type steering device for adjusting the height position of a steering wheel in accordance with a driver's physique and driving posture. In addition, the tilt type steering device that is the subject of the present invention includes a structure that can adjust only the height position of the steering wheel, and of course, the front and rear positions can be adjusted in addition to the height position. A so-called tilt and telescopic steering device is also included.
The automobile steering device is configured as shown in FIG. 6, and transmits the rotation of the steering wheel 1 to the input shaft 3 of the
In general, a steering mechanism as described above incorporates a tilt mechanism for adjusting the height position of the steering wheel 1 in accordance with the physique and driving posture of the driver. 2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, steering apparatuses incorporating such a tilt mechanism are widely known, for example, as described in Patent Documents 1 to 3. The conventional structure shown in FIG. 6 described above is the structure described in
Further, a
The steering column 6 is slidably fitted to the front part of the
Further, an
The
When adjusting the position of the steering wheel 1, the adjusting
The mechanism for adjusting the force of pressing the outer surfaces of the pair of left and right support plates constituting the support bracket so that the position of the steering wheel can be adjusted, and the mechanism for holding the steering wheel at the adjusted position, In addition to the structures shown in FIGS. For example, a structure that supports a tilting saddle member so as to be able to rotate about its own central axis is also known. When such a structure is adopted in accordance with the structure shown in FIGS. 7 to 8, a thrust bearing is provided between the
In any structure, in order to smoothly adjust the position of the steering wheel, the engaging
That is, when the
Among these abutting portions a and b, at least the abutting portion b on the rear side is a portion where the upper end edge portion of the rear
On the other hand, when the
Of the abutting portions C and D, at least the abutting portion D on the rear side is a portion where the lower end edge portion of the rear
In the case of a tilt / telescopic steering device, the vertical position of the steering wheel can be adjusted without necessarily forming a long hole for engaging the engaging projection in an arc shape centered on the tilt axis. it can. That is, as shown in FIG. 12, the
Note that Patent Document 1 describes a structure in which protrusions having pointed tips are formed on both upper and lower end portions of both front and rear outer surfaces of an engaging convex portion. Each of these protrusions bites into the inner surface of the long hole at the time of a secondary collision in which the driver's body collides with the steering wheel, and prevents the engagement convex portion from being displaced above the long hole. And it prevents that the position of a steering wheel raises carelessly and makes it easy to aim at protection of a driver. In such a conventional structure, since each tip is sharpened so that each protrusion can easily bite into the inner surface of the long hole, the surface that smoothly displaces the engaging convex portion along the long hole. Is disadvantageous.
The present invention has been invented to realize a tilt-type steering device that can smoothly adjust the vertical position of the steering wheel in view of the above-described circumstances.

Among these, the steering column is oscillated and displaced about a tilt shaft provided in the front in the width direction.
Further, the displacement bracket is fixed to an intermediate portion in the axial direction of the steering column.
The steering shaft is rotatably supported on the inner diameter side of the steering column, and a steering wheel is fixed to a rear end portion protruding from the rear end opening of the steering column.

Further, the pressing member expands and contracts the distance from the anchor portion based on the swing of the tilt lever.
And the engagement convex part formed in the inner surface of at least one of the anchor part and the pressing member can be displaced along the long hole into at least one of the long holes. In addition, the engagement is performed in a state where the rotation around the tilting saddle member is prevented.
In particular, in the tilt type steering apparatus of the present invention, at least both of the front and rear direction outer side surfaces of the engagement convex portion on both sides in the vertical direction sandwiching the intermediate portion in the vertical direction are respectively the engagement convex portions. A convex curved surface that is inclined in a direction toward the front-rear direction center side of the engaging convex portion as it goes toward both ends in the vertical direction. And in the state where the moment centering on the tilting saddle member is applied to the portion where the engaging convex portion is provided, the longitudinal direction of the engaging convex portion with respect to both front and rear inner surfaces of the elongated hole Both outer surfaces abut each other on a part of each of the convex curved surfaces existing on the opposite sides with respect to the vertical direction. That is, when implementing the present invention, in order to realize such a contact state, the size of the gap provided between the both inner side surfaces and the both outer side surfaces and the vertical dimension of the engaging convex portion Therefore, the specific shape and size of each convex curved surface are appropriately regulated.
When the tilt type steering device of the present invention as described above is implemented, for example, as in the invention described in
When the present invention is implemented, for example, as in the third aspect of the present invention, both the front and rear inner side surfaces of the elongated hole are arc-shaped curved surfaces each centering on the tilt axis. At the same time, among the front and rear outer side surfaces of the engaging convex portion, at least the convex curved surfaces existing on both sides in the vertical direction excluding the middle portion in the vertical direction are arc-shaped convex curved surfaces. The radius of curvature of the arc-shaped convex curved surface is made smaller (for example, about 10 to 30%) than the radius of curvature of the rear inner surface of the long hole.
Moreover, when implementing this invention, Preferably, like the invention described in Claim 4, the front-rear direction both outer side surfaces and the up-down direction both end surfaces of the said engaging convex part are made to continue smoothly.
Further, when the present invention is implemented, preferably, as in the invention described in
Moreover, when implementing this invention, Preferably, like the invention described in Claim 6, the said long hole is formed by the punching process by a press. Then, by appropriately regulating the punching direction of the support plate portion with respect to the mounting plate portion, the outer side of the support plate portion is out of the both front and rear inner surfaces of the elongated hole engaged with the engagement convex portion. A shearing surface is present on the side surface side, and a fracture surface is also present on the inner side surface side, and both front and rear outer surfaces of the engaging convex portion are engaged with the shearing surface.
According to the tilt type steering apparatus of the present invention configured as described above, the operation of adjusting the vertical position of the steering wheel can be performed smoothly.
In other words, in the case of the present invention, both the front and rear outer surfaces of the engagement convex portion are in contact with the front and rear inner surfaces of the elongated holes by convex curved surfaces provided on both upper and lower sides of both outer surfaces. In other words, the vertical edge portions of the outer side surfaces do not hit the inner side surfaces. Therefore, in order to adjust the vertical position of the steering wheel, after the adjustment lever is swung downward, the steering wheel is moved in the vertical direction in a state where the adjustment lever tends to swing downward due to its own weight. (When the engaging projections are displaced in the vertical direction along the elongated holes), the vertical edge portions of the two outer surfaces bite into the inner surfaces and get caught or rubbed strongly. Can be prevented. Therefore, it is possible to prevent an increase in resistance to the displacement of the steering wheel in the vertical direction, and it is possible to prevent vibrations from being transmitted to the hand holding the steering wheel and abnormal noise. Further, even when the adjusting lever is swung upward to hold the steering wheel in the adjusted position, the contact pressure at the contact portion between the outer side surfaces and the inner side surfaces excessively increases. You can prevent things. For this reason, it can prevent that a part of both said inner side surfaces dent and deform | transform by this contact pressure. Therefore, when adjusting the vertical position of the steering wheel, it is possible to prevent the vertical edge portions of the outer side surfaces from being caught by the recessed portion. As a result, the smoothness of the operation of adjusting the vertical position of the steering wheel can be ensured.
[First example of embodiment]
1-4 show a first example of an embodiment of the present invention corresponding to claims 1-6. The feature of this example is mainly in the shape of the engaging
Also in this example, a
Also in this example, both the front and rear sides of the
Further, the driven
According to the tilt type steering apparatus of the present example configured as described above, the operation of adjusting the vertical position of the steering wheel 1 (see FIG. 6) can be smoothly performed.
That is, in this example, when the
On the other hand, when the
In the case of this example, the R chamfered portions as described above are provided at both end portions in the vertical direction of both the front and rear

[Second Example of Embodiment]
FIG. 5 shows a second example of an embodiment of the present invention corresponding to
Since the structure and operation of other parts are the same as in the case of the first example described above, the same parts are denoted by the same reference numerals, and overlapping illustrations and descriptions are omitted.
When carrying out the present invention, of the front and rear outer surfaces of the engaging convex portion, the engaging convex portion is swung in both directions around the tilting saddle member inside the elongated hole. The vertical intermediate portions, which are portions that do not contact the front and rear inner surfaces of the long hole, do not have to be convex curved surfaces, and may be, for example, flat surfaces that are parallel to each other or concave curved surfaces.
Further, when the present invention is implemented, the engaging convex portion is not limited to the engaging convex portion (second engaging convex portion) formed on the inner side surface of the driven cam, but is formed on the inner side surface of the anchor portion. It may be an engaging convex portion (first engaging convex portion).
