Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire that can accurately measure the rubber hardness of a tread portion using a durometer while suppressing a decrease in straight running stability and steering stability.
It is known that the pneumatic tire is hard to fully exhibit its performance due to the rubber curing due to aging. In particular, in the case of a studless tire suitable for running on an icy road or the like, the flexibility of the tread rubber is particularly important, and there is a problem that the performance on ice is remarkably deteriorated due to rubber hardening due to aging. For this reason, it is necessary to appropriately determine the degree of cure of the rubber in the tread portion of the tire and determine the replacement time. Related literature includes the following.
The degree of rubber curing as described above can be determined to some extent by, for example, pressing a finger, a nail or the like against tread rubber or the like. However, these depend on the subjectivity of the worker, and there is a problem that it is difficult to determine the tire replacement timing uniformly.
It is also conceivable to determine the degree of cure by measuring the rubber hardness by bringing the measuring section of a durometer that measures the rubber hardness into contact with the tread surface. However, the tread surface easily receives heat and strain from the road surface and is relatively easy to cure, and there is a problem that the degree of rubber curing in the tread portion cannot be measured appropriately.
Furthermore, it may be possible to judge the degree of curing by bringing the durometer measurement part into contact with the side wall part that does not come into contact with the road surface, but it is easy to cure due to large distortion during running and is different from the rubber of the tread part. Since rubber was adopted, it was not possible to make an appropriate judgment.
The present invention has been devised in view of the actual situation as described above. In the present specification, unless otherwise specified, the size of each part of the tire is a value specified in a normal state with no load loaded with a normal rim and filled with a normal internal pressure.
The “regular rim” is a rim determined for each tire in a standard system including a standard on which a tire is based. For example, JAMMA is a standard rim, TRA is “Design Rim”, or ETRTO. Then means "Measuring Rim".
The “regular internal pressure” is the air pressure defined by the standard for each tire. The maximum air pressure for JATMA, the maximum value described in the table “TIRE LOAD LIMITS AT VARIOUS COLD INFLATION PRESSURES” for ETRA, In this case, it is “INFLATION PRESSURE”, but in the case of passenger car tires, it is 180 kPa.
In the pneumatic tire of the present invention, shoulder lateral grooves extending inward in the tire axial direction from the ground contact end are spaced apart in the tire circumferential direction at the tread portion. The shoulder lateral groove is composed of a standard groove having a groove width of 12 mm or less and a single thick groove having a groove bottom width of 18 mm or more with which a durometer measuring portion for measuring rubber hardness can come into contact.
Such a thick groove makes it possible to easily measure the rubber hardness of the groove bottom surface of the tread rubber by bringing the measuring portion of the durometer into contact with the groove bottom, so that the degree of curing due to aging can be accurately determined. In addition, the thick groove is formed in a shoulder lateral groove having a relatively small ground contact pressure when traveling straight, and is limited to only one of the shoulder lateral grooves, so that it is possible to suppress a decrease in straight traveling stability and steering stability.

As shown in FIG. 1, a pneumatic tire (hereinafter sometimes simply referred to as “tire”) 1 of the present embodiment is for a passenger car in which the rubber hardness of the

The maximum load capacity in the case of JATMA, the maximum value described in the table “TIRE LOAD LIMITS AT VARIOUS COLD INFLATION PRESSURES” in the case of TRA, If it is ETRTO, it is "LOAD CAPACITY".

Further, the maximum width W2a in the tire axial direction of the
As shown in FIG. 2 in an enlarged manner, the center

As shown in FIG. 1, the

As shown in FIG. 2, the inner middle

As shown in FIG. 1, an outer middle
As shown in FIG. 2, the outer middle
As shown in FIG. 1, the
The
In the outer shoulder land portion 4Co, outer shoulder lateral grooves 5Do positioned on the vehicle outer side are spaced apart in the tire circumferential direction. As a result, the outer shoulder land portion 4Co has outer shoulder blocks 6Co separated by the outer shoulder lateral grooves 5Do spaced apart in the tire circumferential direction.
As shown in FIG. 2, the outer shoulder lateral groove 5Do is inclined at an angle α1d of, for example, about 0 to 10 degrees with respect to the tire axial direction, and the tread is grounded while keeping the groove width W3g substantially constant. Extend to end 2t. Such an outer shoulder lateral groove 5Do can also improve drainage performance, performance on snow, and performance on ice. The groove width W3g of the outer shoulder lateral groove is preferably about 6 to 9 mm, and the groove depth (not shown) is about 6 to 10 mm.
As shown in FIG. 1, the inner
The inner shoulder lateral groove 5Di of the present embodiment includes a plurality of
The
As shown in FIG. 3, the
As shown in FIG. 4 with the
The measuring
The
As described above, the
And in the
Further, as shown in FIG. 1, the
If the groove bottom width W5b of the
Further, since the
In order to measure the
In the
Further, in order to maintain the steering stability performance while ensuring the circumferential rigidity of the inner shoulder land portion 4Ci, the ratio (D3d / D1) between the groove depth D3d of the
If the ratio (D3d / D1) exceeds 75%, the groove volume of the
As shown in FIG. 1, the pitch length Pi in the tire circumferential direction of the inner shoulder lateral groove 5Di is preferably larger than the pitch length Po in the tire circumferential direction of the outer shoulder lateral groove 5Do. Thereby, the rigidity difference of the circumferential direction rigidity of the inner side shoulder land part 4Ci and the outer side shoulder land part 4Co by the thick groove |
In order to effectively exhibit such an action, the ratio (Pi / Po) of the pitch length Pi of the inner shoulder lateral groove 5Di and the pitch length Po of the outer shoulder lateral groove 5Do is desirably 105 to 120%. In addition, there exists a possibility that the said effect | action cannot fully be exhibited as the said ratio (Pi / Po) is less than 105%. Conversely, if the ratio (Pi / Po) exceeds 120%, the circumferential rigidity of the inner shoulder land portion 4Ci becomes excessively large, and there is a possibility that the steering stability performance cannot be sufficiently improved. From such a viewpoint, the ratio (Pi / Po) is more preferably 107% or more, and more preferably 118% or less.

<Availability of rubber hardness measurement at groove bottom>
Using a durometer (Ascar Rubber Hardness Tester Type A manufactured by Kobunshi Keiki Co., Ltd.), the rubber hardness of the bottom surface of the shoulder lateral groove of each test tire was measured. The evaluation is as follows.
○: Easy measurement.
(Triangle | delta): Although it was able to measure easily at the time of a new article, it cannot measure to a tire life.
X: It was not measurable.
<Performance on ice>
Each test tire is assembled on the rim, filled with 230 kPa of internal pressure, mounted on all wheels of a domestic FF vehicle (displacement of 1998 cc), and run on the icy road under the ride of one driver. The braking distance required from the braking at 30 km / h until the vehicle completely stopped after braking in an all-wheel locked state was measured. A result is an index | exponent which makes the reciprocal number of a braking distance 100 the comparative example 1, and shows that it is so favorable that a numerical value is large. Each of the test tires was tested after running on a dry road surface for 100 km.
<Straight running stability, steering stability>
Each test tire was assembled on the rim under the above conditions and mounted on all the wheels of the vehicle, and a driver on the dry asphalt road test track was run. Characteristics relating to straight running stability, steering wheel response, rigidity, grip, and the like were evaluated by a driver's sensory evaluation with a score of Comparative Example 1 being 100. The larger the value, the better.
The test results are shown in Table 1.
As a result of the test, it was confirmed that the tires of the examples were able to accurately measure the rubber hardness of the tread portion using a durometer while suppressing a decrease in straight running stability and steering stability.
