Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ammonia gas sensor suitably used for measuring ammonia gas concentration in combustion gas and exhaust gas of, for example, a combustor and an internal combustion engine.
自動車等の内燃機関の排気ガス中の窒素酸化物(NOx)の浄化方法として、尿素SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction、選択還元触媒)方式が開発されている。 A urea SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system has been developed as a method for purifying nitrogen oxides (NO x ) in exhaust gas of internal combustion engines such as automobiles. Urea SCR system, urea was added to the SCR catalyst to generate ammonia, is intended to reduce NO x with ammonia, ammonia gas sensor is used for the ammonia concentration to reduce the NO x to determine whether an appropriate amount ing.
As such an ammonia gas sensor, a sensor in which a reference electrode and a detection electrode are formed on the surface of an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte body and an ammonia concentration is detected based on an electromotive force between the electrodes has been proposed. Since combustible gases (CO, HC, etc.) other than ammonia are also detected, there is a problem that it is difficult to accurately measure the ammonia gas concentration.
Therefore, a sensor in which a metal layer (Au) is provided on the surface of a solid electrolyte body and a metal oxide layer (V 2 O 5 ) is formed on the surface as a detection electrode has been proposed (see Patent Document 1). According to this sensor, it is said that the current collection capability is improved by the metal layer while ensuring the selectivity of ammonia gas by the metal oxide layer.
However, in the case of the ammonia gas sensor described in
Therefore, it is a good idea to form the detection electrode in a single layer. Specifically, a sensor using BiVO 4 which is a metal oxide for a detection electrode has been proposed (see Patent Document 2). According to this sensor, the selectivity of ammonia gas is improved by BiVO 4 .
However, in the case of the ammonia gas sensor described in Patent Document 2, there is a problem that the sensitivity to ammonia gas varies greatly depending on the H 2 O concentration in the gas to be detected. This is probably because a metal oxide was used as the detection electrode.
Further, in the case of the ammonia gas sensor described in Patent Document 2, since the metal oxide is used as the detection electrode, the current collecting effect is lowered, and there is a possibility that the ammonia gas cannot be detected.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an ammonia gas sensor that is excellent in ammonia selectivity and has little sensitivity fluctuation due to H 2 O in the gas to be detected.
In order to solve the above problems, an ammonia gas sensor of the present invention includes an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte body, and a detection electrode and a reference electrode provided on the surface of the solid electrolyte body, respectively, and the detection electrode is mainly made of Au. The component contains 0.05 to 6.5 mol% of one or more metal oxides selected from the group consisting of V, Bi, W and Mo, and the detection electrode is in direct contact with the surface of the solid electrolyte body.
With such a configuration, the ammonia selectivity is preferentially generated among the combustible gases in the gas to be measured due to the action of the ammonia gas selective metal oxide contained in the detection electrode. improves. If the content of the metal oxide in the detection electrode is less than 0.05 mol%, ammonia selectivity does not occur, and the measurement accuracy of ammonia gas decreases.
Further, since the ratio of the metal oxide in the detection electrode is set to 6.5 mol% or less, there is no problem that the ammonia measurement sensitivity fluctuates greatly according to the change in the H 2 O concentration in the detection gas. If the content of the metal oxide in the detection electrode exceeds 6.5 mol%, the sensitivity to ammonia gas varies greatly depending on the H 2 O concentration in the gas to be detected.
Further, the detection electrode is mainly composed of Au. That is, the Au content in the detection electrode is set to 50% by mass or more. Thereby, the current collection capability of the detection electrode is improved. If the content of Au is less than 50% by mass, the current collecting effect cannot be obtained and ammonia gas may not be detected.
In addition to these, a single-layer sensing electrode containing a mixture of Au and a metal oxide is in direct contact with the surface of the solid electrolyte body. For this reason, compared with the case where Au and a metal oxide are made into another layer, there is no possibility of peeling from an interlayer by thermal expansion.
A selective reaction layer may be formed on the surface of the detection electrode.
In this way, ammonia selectivity can be improved when the content of the metal oxide in the detection electrode is relatively small.
The metal oxide may is BiVO 4.
In this way, the effect of selectively burning a combustible gas (CO, HC, etc.) other than ammonia is further increased.
According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain an ammonia gas sensor that is excellent in ammonia selectivity and has little sensitivity fluctuation due to H 2 O in the gas to be detected.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described.
<First Embodiment>
FIG. 1 shows a cross-sectional view along the longitudinal direction of an ammonia gas sensor (ammonia sensor) 200A according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The

Further, an

It goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and extends to various modifications and equivalents included in the spirit and scope of the present invention. For example, a two-chamber sensor structure may be employed in which a detection electrode and a reference electrode are provided on the front and back surfaces of the solid electrolyte body, respectively, so that the reference electrode is exposed to the atmosphere and the detection electrode is exposed to the gas to be measured.

Then, a Pt-based paste is screen-printed on the
The Au-based paste was prepared by placing Au powder, BiVO 4 powder, an organic solvent and a dispersant in a mortar and mixing them by hand for 10 minutes or more so as to be uniform. BiVO 4 powder was prepared by mixing powders of vanadium oxide (V 2 O 5 ) and bismuth oxide (Bi 2 O 3 ) at a ratio of 1: 1 (molar ratio) and dispersing and mixing for 1 hour with a coarse machine, then 800 It was calcined at 15 ° C. for 15 hours, further dispersed and mixed for 1 hour with a rough machine, calcined at 800 ° C. for 15 hours and then pulverized.
The ammonia gas sensors of Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3 were prepared by changing the content ratio of BiVO 4 powder in the Au-based paste as shown in Table 1.
The content of BiVO 4 in the
Further, whether or not BiVO 4 is present in the detection electrode can be determined by, for example, XRD analysis. The cross section of the

<Evaluation>
Sensor characteristics (sensitivity) evaluation Evaluation of the effect of H 2 O on ammonia sensitivity The ammonia gas sensors of the examples and comparative examples were attached to the gas flow of the model gas generator, and the sensitivity of the sensor was evaluated. The gas temperature of the model gas was 280 ° C., the control temperature of the sensor element (heater heating) was 650 ° C., and the gas composition was O 2 = 10% CO 2 = 5% N 2 = bal. Then, when H 2 O is mixed with the model gas at 1, 5 and 10%, respectively, and the gas is supplied from the model gas generator, the potential difference between the
2. Evaluation of ammonia selectivity Using the above model gas generator, the above 1. The ammonia gas sensors of the examples and comparative examples were attached to the gas flow under the same conditions as in Example 1, and the sensitivity of the sensors was evaluated. However, the gas composition of the model gas was set to H 2 O = 5%, and the potential difference between the

Then, for each of the examples and comparative examples, the relative HC sensitivity (standard value) when the ammonia sensitivity of the sensor was normalized to 1000 was obtained.
In each Example and Comparative Example, the influence of H 2 O on ammonia sensitivity and ammonia selectivity are shown in Table 1, FIG. 5 and FIG.
In Table 1, for each of Examples and Comparative Examples, with respect to ammonia sensitivity when the H 2 O = 5%, ammonia sensitivity of 5% or more when the change in H 2 O = 1% or 10% The fluctuation was evaluated as x. For each of the examples and comparative examples, those having an HC sensitivity (standard value) exceeding 50 (that is, exceeding 5% of the ammonia sensitivity) were evaluated as x.
As is clear from Table 1, FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, in the case of each example in which 0.05 to 6.5 mol% of BiVO 4 was included in the detection electrode, the influence of H 2 O on the ammonia sensitivity was small, and ammonia selection It was also excellent in properties.
On the other hand, free of BiVO 4 during sensing electrode, the detection electrode in Comparative Example 1 was formed from Au alone, ammonia selectivity was poor.
In Comparative Examples 2 and 3 in which the content of BiVO 4 in the detection electrode exceeded 6.5 mol%, the sensitivity to ammonia when H 2 O = 5% changed to H 2 O = 1% or 10%. As a result, the ammonia sensitivity fluctuated by 5% or more, and the influence of H 2 O on the ammonia sensitivity increased.
