Abstract
【解決手段】本発明のゲル電解質は、グルコマンナンのマトリックス中に非水系電解液が保持されていることを特徴とする。このゲル電解質は、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルを非水系電解液に浸漬し、ハイドロゲル中の水を非水系電解液に置換することによって得ることができる。このゲル電解質を用いてアルミニウム電解コンデンサを構成すると、従来のセパレータと非水系電解液とを使用したコンデンサに比較して、インピーダンスが1/6以下に低下する。

Description
グルコマンナンハイドロゲルは、水にグルコマンナンを混合し、攪拌しながらグルコマンナンを水に溶解或いは膨潤させて粘調液を得、この液に水酸化ナトリウム、炭酸ナトリウム、水酸化カリウムまたは水酸化カルシウム等のアルカリの水溶液を添加し、攪拌することにより得ることができる。電気化学素子用のゲル電解質とするためには、グルコマンナンを溶解させた後アルカリの水溶液を添加し、得られた液をガラス板等の平板上にキャストした後、80℃程度の加温下で放置し、シート状のグルコマンナンハイドロゲルを得るのが好ましい。グルコマンナンハイドロゲルの含水量には厳密な制限は無いが、イオン伝導性に優れ且つ自立性に優れたゲル電解質を得るためには、50質量%〜99.9質量%の範囲であるのが好ましい。
上述した方法によりシート状に成形し、必要に応じて適当な大きさに切断したグルコマンナンハイドロゲルをエタノールに浸漬し、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルに保持された水をエタノールに置換する。この置換は、以下に示す液化二酸化炭素への媒体置換を容易にするために行われ、水にも二酸化炭素にも相溶性の高い媒体として、エタノールが使用される。エタノールへの浸漬時間は、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルのシートの厚みや含水量などに依存するが、一般には1日〜10日の範囲であり、ときどきエタノールを新規なものに交換しながら浸漬を継続するのが好ましい。
上述した方法によりシート状に成形し、必要に応じて適当な大きさに切断したグルコマンナンハイドロゲルを凍結乾燥機内に配置し、凍結乾燥する。凍結乾燥の条件には厳密な制限は無いが、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルをその外形を大きく変化させずに脱水乾燥して多孔質ゲルを得るためには、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルを液体窒素で凍結させた後、20Pa以下の圧力下で凍結乾燥するが好ましい。乾燥時間は、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルのシートの厚みや含水量、一回あたりの処理量にも依存するが、一般には1日〜2日程度である。
1gのグルコマンナンを90mLの水と混合し、常温で攪拌することによりグルコマンナンを水に溶解させた後、50mgの炭酸ナトリウムを溶解させた10mLの水溶液を添加、攪拌し、得られた液をガラス製シャーレ上にキャストし、80℃で3時間静置することにより、厚み約1000μのグルコマンナンハイドロゲルのシートを得た。
実施例1において得られたグルコマンナンハイドロゲルシートの切片をエタノール中に浸漬し、2日ごとにエタノールを交換しながら1週間放置し、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルに保持された水をエタノールに置換した。次いで、置換後のゲルを超臨界乾燥装置内に配置し、二酸化炭素を導入して装置内の温度を60℃、圧力を20MPaに設定し、超臨界二酸化炭素中で24時間乾燥を行った。
厚さ約50μmのクラフトパルプ二重紙を、酸化被膜を有するアルミニウム陽極と、アルミニウム陰極とで挟み、クラフトパルプ二重紙に実施例1において使用した非水系電解液を含浸させた後、これを2枚のクラフトパルプ二重紙で挟み、さらに全体を2枚のガラス板で挟んだ後、固定具で固定することにより、コンデンサセルを構成した。得られたコンデンサセルについて、実施例1と同様の電気的特性を評価した。
Claims (6)
- グルコマンナンのマトリックス中に非水系電解液が保持されているゲル電解質。
- 請求項1に記載のゲル電解質の製造方法であって、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルを非水系電解液に浸漬してグルコマンナンハイドロゲル中の水を前記非水系電解液に置換することを特徴とするゲル電解質の製造方法。
- 請求項1に記載のゲル電解質の製造方法であって、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルをエタノールに浸漬してグルコマンナンハイドロゲル中の水をエタノールに置換し、置換後のゲルを超臨界二酸化炭素中で乾燥して多孔質ゲルを得、得られた多孔質ゲルに非水系電解液を含浸させることを特徴とするゲル電解質の製造方法。
- 請求項1に記載のゲル電解質の製造方法であって、グルコマンナンハイドロゲルを凍結乾燥して多孔質ゲルを得、得られた多孔質ゲルに非水系電解液を含浸させることを特徴とするゲル電解質の製造方法。
- 一対の電極と、該電極の間に配置された請求項1に記載のゲル電解質とを備えた電気化学素子。
- 前記電気化学素子がアルミニウム電解コンデンサである、請求項5に記載の電気化学素子。
