Abstract
Description
The present invention comprises a rectifier circuit that rectifies the voltage of an AC system of commercial frequency and outputs it to a DC bus comprising a diode element, and an inverter that comprises a semiconductor switching element and converts the voltage of the DC bus to AC and supplies it to a load. The present invention relates to a power conversion device.
An inverter is a device that converts direct current into desired alternating current, and is widely used in general, including driving a motor. Since an inverter requires a DC voltage source, a rectifier circuit or a converter that receives an AC waveform voltage of a commercial frequency of an AC system and converts it to a DC voltage is required.
A rectifier circuit is usually designed to make the output DC voltage substantially constant, but this voltage fluctuates for various reasons. In particular, when there is no active element that performs switching in the rectifier circuit, for example, in the case of a rectifier circuit composed of only a diode bridge, the output voltage of the rectifier circuit is likely to fluctuate depending on the input or load conditions. If this DC voltage fluctuates, it will of course affect the operation of the load, but it is particularly important that if this voltage value suddenly rises, there is a risk that the inverter will exceed the breakdown voltage of the inverter and the inverter will be destroyed. Is the case.
From this viewpoint, for example,
Here, consider the following situation. First, it is assumed that the rectifier circuit is a rectifier circuit using a diode bridge similar to that introduced in
By the way, the voltage fluctuation suppression mechanism of this
Usually, this does not happen because a relatively large smoothing capacitor is provided in the DC bus voltage portion between the rectifier circuit and the inverter. When the AC voltage from the AC system is diode rectified, the output waveform is not constant, and fluctuations occur according to the number of phases of the AC system and the rectification method. Various methods are known as methods for reducing fluctuations in the output voltage by the rectification method. For example, there is a method as disclosed in
In order to bring this voltage fluctuation closer to a constant voltage, it is necessary to smooth the voltage with a smoothing capacitor having a sufficient capacity. In this case, if the inverter suddenly stops, even if the energy accumulated in the inductance component of the AC system flows in, the energy can be absorbed by the smoothing capacitor, and as a result, the voltage of the DC bus rises so much. There is nothing to do.
However, when this smoothing capacitor is enlarged, there is a new problem. That is, in the case of a diode rectifier circuit that does not include a so-called high power factor circuit, if the smoothing capacitor is large, a large capacitor input current flows at the moment when the diode is energized.
This is particularly important when the power factor is improved by the rectification method. For example, as in
In recent years, particularly in the case of large-capacity industrial equipment, a high power reception rate is often required. The reduction in power factor not only leads to loss in power reception, but also increases the number of higher-order harmonics, which also increases the effect on other devices connected to the AC system. In order to achieve a power reception rate of 95% or higher or 98% or higher, a high power factor converter using active elements is often used, but a rectifier circuit using many switching elements is generally expensive. is there. A rectifier circuit using diode rectification is inexpensive and desirable, but even if multiphase rectification is performed to increase the power factor by diode rectification, the power factor cannot be sufficiently increased if the capacity of the smoothing capacitor is large.
As described above, in the conventional power conversion device, there is a demand to reduce the smoothing capacitor particularly in the diode rectifier circuit using multiphase rectification in order to pursue a high power factor. However, if the capacity of the smoothing capacitor is small, as mentioned at the beginning, when the inverter suddenly shuts down, the energy from the stray inductance of the AC system cannot be sufficiently received by the smoothing capacitor. There is a problem that the voltage may be raised and the breakdown voltage of the inverter may be exceeded.
The present invention has been made to solve the conventional problems as described above. In particular, the capacity of the smoothing capacitor is increased to a certain extent so as to enable a high power reception rate using a multiphase rectifier circuit. It is an object of the present invention to obtain a power converter that does not have a risk of damaging an inverter due to a rise in DC bus voltage exceeding the withstand voltage even when set to a small value below.
The power conversion device according to the present invention comprises a diode element that rectifies a commercial frequency AC system voltage and outputs it to a DC bus, and a semiconductor switching element that converts the DC bus voltage to AC and supplies it to a load. The voltage between the DC buses reaches the specified overvoltage so that no voltage exceeding the specified overvoltage is generated between the DC buses and the inverter, the voltage clamp circuit consisting of the series connected switch and resistor connected between the DC buses And a switch control circuit that closes a switch that is normally open when there is a risk of failure.
As described above, according to the present invention, the voltage between the DC buses is set so that a voltage exceeding a predetermined overvoltage is not generated between the DC buses and the voltage clamp circuit composed of a series body of a switch and a resistor connected between the DC buses. A switch control circuit is provided to close the normally open circuit when a certain overvoltage is reached or there is a risk, so even if a large amount of energy accumulated in the inductance component of the AC system flows into the DC bus However, the resistor inserted between the DC buses in the closing operation of the switch absorbs the energy to suppress the overvoltage and reliably protect the inverter.

FIG. 2 shows the block diagram more specifically, and is a configuration diagram showing the power conversion device according to the first embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 2, the power reception is a three-phase AC, and the output of the
In FIG. 2, IGBTs are temporarily described as switching elements of the
Next, the operation of the circuit will be described with reference to FIG. The three-phase AC waveform voltage is received and first converted into a desired voltage by the

At this time, the floating
As the floating
The current flowing into the smoothing
The
Although it is the resistance value of the
FIG. 3 is a configuration diagram showing the
FIG. 4 is a more specific example. The DC bus voltage is detected by dividing the voltage with a resistor having a high resistance value by the
FIG. 5 is another example. The

A further alternative is conceivable as a method of driving the
FIG. 6 is a block diagram showing a switch control circuit according to the third embodiment of the present invention, to which the alternative is applied.
The

The main object of the present invention is to protect the
In FIG. 2, the three-phase AC waveform voltage is received and input to the three-phase diode
As a method for improving the smoothness after rectification and improving the power reception rate, there is a method called multiphase rectification. First, FIG. 7 shows an example of 12-phase rectification. If the windings on the secondary side of the
Further, when the number of secondary windings is increased to three, 18-phase rectification as shown in FIG. 8 is obtained. In this case, the secondary winding is output with a shift of ± 20 °. In this case, the period of the unevenness after adding the rectified voltages becomes every 20 °, and 18-phase rectification is achieved, further improving the smoothness and improving the power factor of power reception.
Further, FIG. 9 shows a case where the number of secondary windings is four. The phase of each secondary winding is 0 °, + 30 °, -15 °, + 15 °. When all the voltages of the
In the case of polyphase rectification, the number of secondary windings increases, but it is not always necessary to add all of these. For example, in FIG. 10, the results of rectifying the secondary side are added together two by two and each input to another inverter. That is, an output obtained by adding the two
The outputs of the two
Similarly, in FIG. 11, the two
As described above in the fourth embodiment of the present invention, when a multiphase rectification technique of 18 phases or more is used as the rectifier circuit, the power factor of power reception can be set to a desired 95 with a simple and inexpensive configuration of transformer × diode bridge. It can be improved to a level of about%.
In the case of multiphase rectification, the structure of the transformer becomes complicated and a large number of diodes for rectification are required, but the secondary winding has a low withstand voltage, and the capacitance of the transformer does not change greatly. Since the breakdown voltage of the diode also decreases, the increase in cost is not so great.
In this way, the power factor of power reception can be improved with an inexpensive configuration that does not use active elements by using the technology of multiphase rectification, but generally the power factor is about 95%, It is difficult to achieve a power factor higher than this with the method alone. As a method for improving the power factor beyond this value, it is conceivable to further reduce the capacity of the smoothing
A case in which the power factor is further improved using the present invention provided with the
FIG. 12 shows a change in power reception power factor when the capacity of the smoothing
Thus, if the capacity of the smoothing
One of the problems when reducing the capacity of the smoothing
