Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an antenna device that can be used for a handy terminal of UHF band RFID.
The patch antenna element is composed of a ground electrode formed of a conductor, a dielectric substrate placed on the ground electrode, and a radiating electrode of the conductor formed on the dielectric substrate.
The patch antenna element having such a structure is not only thin and high gain can be obtained, but also has good compatibility with unbalanced circuits such as a coaxial line and a microstrip line, and can be easily matched to these circuits. There are many advantages such as being able to do so.
For this reason, patch antenna elements are widely used in RFID handy terminals and other transceivers (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
In addition, an antenna device has been devised that uses a patch antenna element as a patch antenna element and is configured by arranging a plurality of patch antenna elements (for example, see Patent Document 2).
Generally, such an antenna device has a planar configuration. That is, a plurality of radiation electrodes are arranged in a plane on a wide surface of a single dielectric substrate, a coaxial cable is connected to each radiation electrode from the back side of the dielectric substrate, and power from the power feeding unit is supplied to the coaxial cable. By supplying power to each radiating electrode through or providing a stripline on the back surface of the dielectric substrate, etc., and electromagnetically coupling the power from the power feeding part to each radiating electrode through this stripline, Radiates in the front direction perpendicular to the body substrate surface.
However, the conventional patch antenna element described above has the following problems.
In the case of downsizing the patch antenna element, a method of increasing the relative dielectric constant of the dielectric substrate is taken. However, increasing the relative permittivity of the dielectric substrate to reduce the size of the antenna electrode and the size of the ground electrode also increases the radiation to the ground side on the back surface, and the radiation to the front side. Gain will decrease.
That is, when the patch antenna element is reduced in size, the F / B ratio (Front to Back ratio) deteriorates, and a problem occurs that the gain in the front direction rapidly decreases.
Therefore, in a patch antenna element using a high dielectric constant substrate, if a desired gain or F / B ratio is to be obtained, the ground size must be set to about a half wavelength or more, and the patch antenna element can be reduced in size. It was difficult.
As described above, in the patch antenna element using the conventional patch antenna, it has been impossible to obtain both an increase in gain and F / B ratio and a reduction in size of the apparatus at the same time.
The conventional antenna apparatus employs a planar configuration in which a plurality of radiation electrodes are arranged on a wide surface of a single dielectric substrate, so that a wide mounting area is required in a small electronic device, and a narrow antenna mounting is required. An area cannot be implemented. On the other hand, a method of reducing the size by reducing the number of antenna elements is conceivable. However, if the number of antenna elements is reduced, a desired gain cannot be obtained.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide an antenna device that can be reduced in size while ensuring a sufficient gain in the front direction.
In order to solve the above-mentioned problem, an antenna device according to the invention of
With this configuration, when power is supplied to one patch antenna element that is a power feeding element, an electromagnetic wave having a predetermined frequency is radiated from the patch antenna element. Then, the other patch antenna element is electromagnetically coupled to the other patch antenna element, and the other patch antenna element resonates at the predetermined frequency.
At this time, by appropriately setting the reactance value of the other patch antenna element itself and the interval between the pair of patch antenna elements, the electromagnetic waves radiated from the other patch antenna element are transmitted from one patch antenna element to the other patch antenna element. It can be made to interfere with the electromagnetic wave which goes to.
Specifically, by appropriately setting the reactance value, the phase and amplitude of the electromagnetic wave radiated from the other patch antenna element are changed, and the distance between the pair of patch antenna elements is set corresponding to the wavelength. The gain of the electromagnetic wave radiated from the one patch antenna element in the front direction can be increased, and the electromagnetic wave existing in the rear direction can be attenuated to increase the F / B ratio.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided the antenna device according to the first aspect, wherein the patch antenna element includes the dielectric substrate having a front surface and a rear surface facing each other and having a substantially rectangular cross section perpendicular to the front surface and the rear surface. The first electrode formed on the front surface of the dielectric substrate and connected to the power supply unit, and the second electrode formed on the back surface of the dielectric substrate, the width of the first electrode Is set to ¼ or less of the length of the first electrode facing the excitation direction, and the width of the second electrode is set to one quarter of the length of the second electrode facing the excitation direction. The widths of the front and back surfaces of the dielectric substrate are set equal to the widths of the first and second electrodes, respectively, and the thickness of the dielectric substrate is set to be equal to or more than one time of the width. The configuration is set.
With this configuration, when power is supplied from the power supply unit to the first electrode of one of the patch antenna elements, an electromagnetic wave having a predetermined frequency is radiated from the first electrode. At this time, the width of each of the first electrode and the second electrode is set to a quarter or less of the length, and the widths of the front and back surfaces of the dielectric substrate are the same as those of the first and second electrodes. Since the width is set equal to each width, the entire patch antenna element is reduced in size, but the gain of the patch antenna element may be reduced. However, in this patch antenna element, since the thickness of the dielectric substrate is set to 1 or more times the width, a decrease in gain can be suppressed and a sufficient gain can be secured.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the antenna device according to the second aspect, the length of at least one of the first and second electrodes of the patch antenna element is set longer than the length of the front surface or the back surface of the dielectric substrate. Further, both end portions in the length direction are bent and disposed on both end surfaces of the dielectric substrate.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the antenna device according to the third aspect, the length of the second electrode of the patch antenna element is set longer than the length of the first electrode.
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the antenna device according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, the input terminal of the reactance circuit is connected to the first electrode of the patch antenna element, which is a parasitic element, and the second By connecting the output terminal to the electrode, the reactance circuit is connected to the patch antenna element and terminated.
With this configuration, by changing the reactance value of the reactance circuit connected to the patch antenna element that is a parasitic element, the reactance value on the parasitic element side can be increased without increasing the patch antenna element itself.
As described above in detail, according to the antenna device of the first aspect of the present invention, the antenna device is configured by a pair of patch antenna elements each formed by providing electrodes on the dielectric substrate, and this configuration allows the front direction. Because the gain and F / B ratio of electromagnetic waves radiating to the antenna can be increased, it is possible to provide an antenna device that can be reduced in size while ensuring a sufficient gain and F / B ratio in the front direction. Has an excellent effect.
According to the antenna device of the second aspect of the invention, the width of the first and second electrodes of the patch antenna element is set to ¼ or less of the length, and the width of the dielectric substrate is set to the first and second widths. Therefore, the overall size of the patch antenna element can be reduced. In addition, since the thickness of the dielectric substrate is set to 1 or more times the width and the decrease in the gain of the electromagnetic wave is suppressed, a sufficient gain can be ensured. That is, according to the present invention, there is an excellent effect that the apparatus can be downsized while ensuring a desired gain. Therefore, even if the volume size of the patch antenna element is reduced to about half that of the conventional patch antenna element, the same gain can be obtained.
In particular, according to the invention of
According to the invention of
In particular, according to the invention of
In the antenna device according to the embodiment of the present invention, a patch antenna element having a special structure is applied. First, this antenna element will be described using reference technical examples 1 and 2 below.

FIG. 4 is a development view of the patch antenna element of FIG.
As shown in FIG. 1, the

In FIG. 1, the
That is, the

However, if the thickness T of the dielectric substrate 2 'is not so large, the width W of the electrodes 3' and 4 'must be increased. As a result, the patch antenna element 1' is large in the width direction. It will become.
Therefore, the inventor sets the width W of the

(Reference Technology Example 2)
Next, Reference Technology Example 2 will be described.
FIG. 11 is a perspective view showing a patch antenna element according to Reference Technology Example 2. FIG.
This reference technical example is different from the above-mentioned reference technical example 1 in that the lengths of the first and
As shown in FIG. 11, in the
With such a configuration, since the
Further, by increasing the length of the
By the way, when the
However, the radiation characteristics such as the gain, F / B ratio, and band of the

Example 1
Here, an antenna device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described.
FIG. 14 is a schematic perspective view showing an antenna device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 15 is a development view of a patch antenna element, and FIG. 16 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a patch antenna element as a feeding element. FIG. 17 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a patch antenna element which is a parasitic element.
そして、図15に示すように、誘電体基体2A(2B)が、正面2Aa(2Ba)と背面2Ab(2Bb)と側面2Ac(2Bc)及び2Ad(2Bd)と端面2Ae(2Be)及び2Af(2Bf)とを有し、電極3A,4A(3B,4B)が正面2Aa(2Ba),背面2Ab(2Bb)の略全面に形成されている。
As shown in FIG. 14, the
In this example, the

Then, as shown in FIG. 15, the

Specifically, as shown in FIG. 17, holes 2Bg and 4Ba reaching the

The inventor conducted the following experiment in order to confirm this effect.
FIG. 19 is a correlation diagram between the element spacing D and the gain, and FIG. 20 is a correlation diagram between the element spacing D and the F / B ratio.
In this experiment,
In addition, the element interval D in this experiment indicates a multiple of the wavelength at the use frequency of 920 MHz.
As is apparent from the curve S4 in FIG. 19, it was confirmed that the
Also, in the F / B ratio, it is possible to obtain about 7.5 dB or more by setting the element spacing D to 0.12 to 0.30 times the wavelength as shown by the curve S4 in FIG. It was.

Since other configurations, operations, and effects are the same as those in the first and second reference technical examples, description thereof is omitted.
In addition, this invention is not limited to the said Example, A various deformation | transformation and change are possible within the range of the summary of invention.

For example, as shown in FIG. 26, by connecting the
In addition, the patch antenna element 1 (
