Description
多結晶質イリジウムを生地に仕立てる方法の一例を説明する。この方法は多結晶質イリジウムのシートまたは棒状体で始めるが、その延性は3%未満である。第1工程では、多結晶質素材のシートまたは棒状体は高温の金型の間で圧延され、約10%の面積減少を達成し、この面積減少工程の後で、素材がその再結晶化温度よりも高温(摂氏約1200度)で加熱される。このプロセスは、所望の生地の仕立てが達成されるまで、繰り返される。この生地仕立てプロセスの結果として得られる、生地に仕立てられたイリジウムのシートは延性が10%よりも高くなる。
Claims (11)
- 多結晶質イリジウムを生地に仕立てる方法であって、
多結晶質イリジウムをその再結晶化温度で、または、それよりも低温で冷間−温熱加工し、多結晶質構造を分解して配向に [110] 方向を与えるようにする工程と、
イリジウムを再結晶化して、大半の粒子を [110] 方向に整列させるようにする工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - イリジウムを再結晶化して大半の粒子を [110] 方向に整列させるようにする前記工程は、素材の応力エネルギーの量と方向とを制御することにより達成されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 応力エネルギーの前記量は、前記冷間−温熱加工する前記工程において付与される荷重、および、加工作業に通される回数の両方またはどちらか一方を制御することによって抑制されることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 多結晶質イリジウム素材を冷間−温熱加工する前記工程は、摂氏700度から摂氏1100度で遂行されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 多結晶質イリジウムを冷間−温熱加工する前記工程に、ローラーまたは金型が使用されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- イリジウムを再結晶化して大半の粒子を [110] 方向に整列させるようにする前記工程は、特殊な、格子を一致させた二次相粒子を採用することにより好ましくない配向の粒子の再結晶化を阻止することによって達成されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記特殊な、格子を一致させた二次相粒子は、イリジウム・トリウム(Ir5Th)、Ir-Ru、Ir-Ta、Ir-Rh、Ir-V、Ir-Th、Ir-Zr、Ir-Wなどを含んでいるグループから選択されることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の方法。
- ステントであって、
第1の周方向リングと、
前記第1の周方向リングに連結された第2の周方向リングとを備えており、
前記第1の周方向リングと前記第2の周方向リングとは生地に仕立てられたイリジウムで製造される、
ことを特徴とするステント。 - 前記第1の周方向リングを前記第2の周方向リングに接続している長手方向の連結部を更に備えており、長手方向の連結部は生地に仕立てられた多結晶質イリジウムから製造されていることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載のステント。
- 前記生地に仕立てられた多結晶質イリジウムは、10%を超える延性を示すことを特徴とする、請求項8に記載のステント。
- 前記生地に仕立てられた多結晶質イリジウムの大半の粒子は、1つの方向、すなわち、[110] 方向に整列していることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載のステント。
