Abstract
【解決手段】多糖類の有機溶媒溶液の吐出口とターゲットとの間に高電圧が印加され、該高電圧の電場の引力により該多糖類をターゲットに曳いて細化し、直径が40nm以上100nm以下である極細繊維とする。多糖類はセルロース又はキトサンであることを特徴とする。

Description
(キトサンのナノ繊維の作製)
キトサン粉末(和光純薬工業製;分子量230,000から1,810,000)をトリフロロ酢酸に溶解し、2から8重量%のキトサン溶液を得た。このキトサン溶液をシリンジに注入し、陽極を挿入して15,000Vの電圧をかけた。すると、対極に向かってキトサン溶液が飛散し、対極にトリフロロ酢酸塩であるキトサンの繊維が蓄積された。この繊維は、電子顕微鏡写真(不図示)を基に計算した結果、平均直径60nmのナノ繊維であった。
キトサンのナノ繊維の一部を、緩衝液である0.2Mリン酸塩を含む生理食塩水に浸すと、溶解した。
また、キトサンのナノ繊維を、アルカリ処理として、5重量%の水酸化ナトリウムのエタノール溶液に60分間浸漬した。そして、このナノ繊維を、エタノールで洗浄し、減圧乾燥させた。アルカリ処理後のナノ繊維の電子顕微鏡写真が、図1に示してある。この写真から、キトサンのナノ繊維は、アルカリ処理後も、繊維構造をほぼ完全に保持していることが確認された。このキトサンのナノ繊維を、0.2Mリン酸塩を含む生理食塩水に浸したが、溶解しなかった。
(セルロースのナノ繊維の作製)
キトサン粉末の代わりに、繊維状セルロース粉末(シグマ社製;分子量は製品仕様書に記載無し)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様の方法により、セルロースの繊維を得た。この繊維は、電子顕微鏡写真(不図示)を基に計算した結果、平均直径約40nmのナノ繊維であった。セルロースナノ繊維は、アルカリ処理をせずとも水に不溶であるので、減圧乾燥後、そのまま材料として使用できる。

- 多糖類の有機溶媒溶液の吐出し口とターゲットとの間に高電圧が印加され、該高電圧の電場の引力により該多糖類を該ターゲットに曳いて細化し、直径が40nm以上100nm以下であることを特徴とする極細繊維。
- 前記多糖類が、セルロース又はキトサンであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の極細繊維。
- 前記有機溶媒が、トリフロロ酢酸であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の極細繊維。
- 前記有機溶媒に揮発性有機化合物が含まれていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の極細繊維。
- 前記揮発性有機化合物が、ジクロロメタン、クロロホルムが含まれていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の極細繊維。
- 前記細化後に、アルカリ処理されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の極細繊維。
