Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a separation sheet feeding device, and more particularly to a separation sheet feeding device for separating sheets placed on a sheet feeding tray one by one and feeding them to an image recording unit or the like.
2. Description of the Related Art In an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, a facsimile machine, or a so-called multifunction machine having these functions, a plurality of recording papers or documents are placed on a paper feed tray and elastically contacted with a paper feed roller. A paper feed device of a paper feed tray type that separates the paper one by one by a separation pad and feeds it to the image recording unit or the image reading unit is provided. In particular, the recording paper is often fed from a manual feed tray attached to the side of the apparatus in addition to feeding from the paper feed cassette. The manual feed tray is often used for printing and recording on non-standard-size paper and paper other than plain paper. For this reason, the paper to be set ranges from plain paper to thick and loose paper such as postcards.
Recently, in order to make the device compact and space-saving, the recording paper is fed up from the paper cassette installed at the bottom of the device so that it rises almost vertically, and after recording at the recording unit, paper is fed from the paper cassette. There are many image forming apparatuses configured to discharge in the direction opposite to the direction. In the case of such an image forming apparatus, the sheet from the manual feed tray attached to the side of the apparatus is separated by the separation sheet feeding device and then raised at a steep angle. It joins the upward main feeding path and is fed to the image recording unit. Moreover, since the manual feed tray protrudes to the side of the apparatus, it is attached to the side of the apparatus in an inclined state in order to minimize the amount of horizontal protrusion. For this reason, the paper placed on the paper feed tray is separated and fed in a state in which a curl with a large degree of bending is applied with the separation paper feeding unit as a boundary.
Thus, as described above, when a resin film is attached to the surface upstream of the nip portion of the separation pad, the retraction of the paper including the postcard into the nip portion is improved. The good quality may be excessive and the separation at the nip portion may deteriorate. Further, in the case of the paper feeding device disclosed in Patent Document 1, the guide portions located on both sides of the separation pad are higher than the upper surface of the separation pad, and the surface is formed of a flat low friction member. It is understood that the separation function does not deteriorate even with plain paper without waist, and the retraction property to a nip portion such as a strong waist postcard is improved.
However, since the guide portion is higher than the separation pad on the upstream side of the nip portion, the paper is stressed in the width direction immediately before the nip portion between the feed roller and the separation pad, and the postcard or the like is If a strong sheet is introduced into the nip as it is, it is expected that a large conveyance load acts on the sheet feeding roller and causes a sheet jam. In particular, in an image forming apparatus configured to feed a sheet to an image recording unit through a feeding path that rises at a steep angle after the sheet is separated by a separation sheet feeding device as described above, it is strong like a postcard. In the case of paper, it is expected that paper jam will occur more easily.
Furthermore, in the case of the separation paper feeding device of
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and improves the retraction of thick and stiff paper, such as postcards, into the separation nip without impairing the separation of plain paper, thereby smoothly separating and feeding paper. It is an object of the present invention to provide a separating sheet feeding device.
A separation sheet feeding apparatus according to the present invention includes a sheet feeding tray, a sheet feeding roller installed on a side in a sheet feeding direction of the sheet feeding tray, and a separation pad that elastically contacts the sheet feeding roller. A film having a low slip resistance is attached to the surface of the separation pad on the upstream side of the nip portion with the paper feed roller, and the downstream side of the separation pad is below the nip portion. Is curved with a radius of curvature smaller than the radius of curvature of the paper feed roller, and is elastically contacted with the paper feed roller in a compressed and deformed state.
In the present invention, the position where the film is pasted is a position where the leading edge of the paper first hits when the paper is retracted when the paper placed on the paper feed tray is a thick and loose paper such as a postcard. It is desirable to include. The sheet from the sheet feeding tray may be separated and fed upward at a steep angle by a sheet feeding roller and a separation pad.
In the separation sheet feeding device of the present invention, a film having a small sheet slip resistance is attached to the surface of the separation pad upstream of the nip portion with the sheet feeding roller of the separation pad. The front end of the set postcard is smoothly introduced into the nip portion between the paper feed roller and the separating member by this film. In addition, since the stress in the width direction is not applied to the postcard immediately before the nip portion, the subsequent separating and feeding performance is not impaired. Furthermore, when feeding plain paper, this good retraction is excessive, but the downstream side of the separation pad is formed with a curvature radius smaller than the curvature radius of the feed roller, Since it is elastically contacted with the paper feed roller in a state of being compressed and deformed, even if a plurality of sheets enter the nip portion due to good retraction, the separation of the separation pad is accurately performed at the site of compression deformation. Therefore, the separation property of plain paper by the paper feed roller and the separation pad is not lowered.
A resin film such as a PET film, a high molecular polyethylene film, a Teflon (registered trademark) film, or a Newlite (registered trademark) film is preferably used as the film having a low slip resistance. Such a resin film has good market availability, and therefore, it can be easily adapted to existing equipment in the category of maintenance service according to the demand of users and the like.
In addition, the position where the film is attached includes the position where the leading edge of the paper first hits when the paper is retracted when the paper placed on the paper feed tray is thick and loose paper such as a postcard. Then, when the paper placed on the paper feed tray is brought in, the leading end of the paper hits the film, so that the feeding property to the nip portion such as a postcard is reliably improved. Even when the paper from the paper feed tray is separated and fed upward at a steep angle by the paper feed roller and the separation pad, thick and strong paper like a postcard can be fed smoothly. To be made. Therefore, as described above, it is possible to sufficiently meet the needs for downsizing and space saving of the image forming apparatus.
The best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. 1 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view of an image forming apparatus employing a separation sheet feeding device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the separation sheet feeding device, and FIG. 3 is an XX in FIG. 図1の画像形成装置Aは、電子写真方式の記録部を備えたプリンタを例に採って示しているが、これに限らず、画像読取装置を備えた複写機、ファクシミリ装置或いはこれらの機能を兼ね備えた所謂複合機等であっても良い。

The image forming apparatus A shown in the figure has a double-sided recording function, and circulates and joins the main feeding path P upstream of the
The image forming apparatus A shown in the drawing further includes a manual sheet feeding function according to the separation sheet feeding apparatus of the present invention. A
The
The
A procedure for feeding recording paper to the image recording unit 3 by using the
Further, at the time of retraction into the nip portion, the front end portion L1 of the postcard L is in sliding contact with the surface of the
