Abstract
【解決手段】本発明に係る光源モジュール11は、赤、緑及び青の各色のLEDチップ12R,12G,12BからなるLEDチップ群12と、LEDチップ群12が複数組実装された配線基板13とを備え、各組のLEDチップ群12は、各色のLEDチップ間の間隔が実質的に等間隔となるようにそれぞれ三角形の各頂点上に位置しており、配線基板13の一方の面は、複数組のLEDチップ群12と、電極取出用の外部接続端子15と、各LEDチップ群12と外部接続端子15との間を電気的に接続する配線パターン14とを有する素子形成面13Aとし、配線基板13の他方の面は、素子形成面13Aと熱的に接続され当該素子形成面13Aで発生した熱を外部へ放熱するための放熱面13Bとする。

図9において、10は背面筐体(筐体)、31は光源モジュール11を複数配列してなる光源装置、32は、背面筐体10に対して液晶表示パネル2を支持する支持筐体である。背面筐体10及び支持筐体32は、液晶表示パネル2側が開口されており、これらの開口を介して光源装置31からの光が液晶表示パネルに導入される。このとき、液晶表示パネル2の画素エリアの大きさをA1、支持筐体32の開口サイズをA2、光源装置31の光学カバーエリアの大きさをA3、背面筐体10の開口サイズをA4としたときに、A1<A2<A3<A4の関係を満たすように各部が構成されている。
なお、光源装置31と液晶表示パネル2との間に形成された空間部33は、図示せずとも拡散板、輝度向上シート、偏光分離素子等の各種光学シートの収容部である。

- 赤、緑及び青の各色のLEDチップからなるLEDチップ群と、
前記LEDチップ群が複数組実装された配線基板とを備えた光源モジュールであって、
前記配線基板の一方の面は、前記複数組のLEDチップ群と、電極取出用の外部接続端子と、前記各LEDチップ群と前記外部接続端子との間を電気的に接続する配線パターンとを有する素子形成面とされており、
前記配線基板の他方の面は、前記素子形成面と熱的に接続され前記素子形成面で発生した熱を外部へ放熱するための放熱面とされている

ことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の光源モジュール。 - 前記金属層は、前記放熱面において、前記配線パターンの投影領域とは異なる領域が格子状にパターニングされている
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の光源モジュール。 - 前記配線パターンの投影領域において、各LEDチップが実装されるランド部に対応する領域は、正極及び負極が一体化された形状を有している
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の光源モジュール。 - 前記LEDチップ群は、前記配線基板の長辺方向に6組配置されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光源モジュール。 - 赤、緑及び青の各色のLEDチップからなるLEDチップ群と、
前記LEDチップ群が複数組実装された配線基板とを備えた光源モジュールが複数組み合わされてなり、
前記配線基板の一方の面は、前記複数組のLEDチップ群と、電極取出用の外部接続端子と、前記各LEDチップ群と前記外部接続端子との間を電気的に接続する配線パターンとを有する素子形成面とされており、
前記配線基板の他方の面は、前記素子形成面と熱的に接続され前記素子形成面で発生した熱を外部へ放熱するための放熱面とされている
ことを特徴とする光源装置。 - 前記各光源モジュールは、金属製筐体上に一体的に配列されている
ことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の光源装置。 - 前記各光源モジュールの配線基板の周縁部には、前記金属製筐体上の固定爪に係合される係合凹所が形成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の光源装置。 - 前記各光源モジュールの配線基板は、「エ」の字、「コ」の字、「ヨ」の字又は「王」の字形状に形成されているとともに、当該配線基板の外形形状に対応する形状の収容部を備えた共通の支持ブロックにそれぞれ支持されている
ことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の光源装置。 - 前記各光源モジュールの配線基板は、前記他方の面側が外部に開放されている
ことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の光源装置。 - 液晶表示パネルと、この液晶表示パネルを背面側から照明するバックライトユニットとを備えた液晶表示装置において、
前記バックライトユニットは、
赤、緑及び青の各色のLEDチップからなるLEDチップ群と、
前記LEDチップ群が複数組実装された配線基板とを備えた光源モジュールが複数組み合わされた光源装置でなり、
前記配線基板の一方の面は、前記複数組のLEDチップ群と、電極取出用の外部接続端子と、前記各LEDチップ群と前記外部接続端子との間を電気的に接続する配線パターンとを有する素子形成面とされており、
前記配線基板の他方の面は、前記素子形成面と熱的に接続され前記素子形成面で発生した熱を外部へ放熱するための放熱面とされている
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記バックライトユニットは、
前記光源装置を収容するとともに前記液晶表示パネル側が開口された金属製の背面筐体と、
前記背面筐体と前記液晶表示パネルとの間に配置され、前記液晶表示パネルを支持するとともに前記液晶表示パネル側が開口された支持筐体とを有し、
前記液晶表示パネルの画素エリアの大きさをA1、前記支持筐体の開口サイズをA2、前記光源装置の光学カバーエリアの大きさをA3、前記背面筐体の開口サイズをA4としたときに、A1<A2<A3<A4の関係を満たす
ことを特徴とする請求項22に記載の液晶表示装置。
