Abstract
Description
本発明は、自動車に代表される内燃機関から排出される炭化水素(HC)、一酸化炭素(CO)、窒化酸化物(NOx)などを含む排ガスを浄化する排ガス浄化触媒に関する。 The present invention relates to an exhaust gas purification catalyst that purifies exhaust gas containing hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrided oxides (NOx), and the like discharged from an internal combustion engine represented by an automobile.
自動車に代表される内燃機関から排出される排ガスの規制は世界的に拡大しており、排ガス中に含まれる炭化水素(HC)、一酸化炭素(CO)、窒素酸化物(NOx)などの有害なガスを浄化するために、三元触媒を使用している。 Regulations on exhaust gas emitted from internal combustion engines such as automobiles are expanding worldwide, and harmful substances such as hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrogen oxides (NOx) contained in exhaust gas Three-way catalyst is used to purify fresh gas.
The three-way catalyst has noble metal particles (eg, Pt, Pd, Rh) supported on a porous alumina (γ-Al 2 O 3 ) support (eg, alumina (γ-Al 2 O 3 )). It is formed by coating a substrate such as a cordierite honeycomb. The three-way catalyst is a catalytic reaction in which the reaction proceeds on the surface of the noble metal particles, and the activity of the catalyst is determined almost in proportion to the surface area of the noble metal particles. For this reason, the surface area of the noble metal particles is increased and the activity of the catalyst is enhanced by uniformly dispersing and supporting fine noble metal particles on the carrier.
一方、貴金属粒子を微粒にすると、貴金属粒子の表面エネルギが高まり、貴金属粒子の凝集(シンタリング)が生じ易くなり、触媒の活性が逆に低下してしまうという矛盾があった。特に、貴金属粒子は、数百℃レベルの高温になると、凝集が生じ易くなっていた。 On the other hand, when the noble metal particles are made fine, the surface energy of the noble metal particles is increased, the noble metal particles are likely to aggregate (sintering), and the activity of the catalyst is conversely reduced. In particular, the noble metal particles tend to aggregate when they reach a high temperature of several hundred degrees Celsius.
三元触媒は、例えば、自動車のエンジン直下に設置されることから、800℃〜900℃、場合に応じて1000℃を超える高温の過酷な環境下に晒される。このため、三元触媒の作製初期に、貴金属粒子を微粒に調製した場合であっても、三元触媒をエンジン直下に設置して実際に使用すると、貴金属粒子が移動して凝集し、触媒の活性が低下する要因となっていた。 For example, since the three-way catalyst is installed directly under the engine of an automobile, the three-way catalyst is exposed to a harsh environment having a high temperature exceeding 800 ° C. to 900 ° C., and in some cases exceeding 1000 ° C. For this reason, even when the precious metal particles are prepared in the initial stage of preparation of the three-way catalyst, if the three-way catalyst is installed directly under the engine and actually used, the precious metal particles move and aggregate, It became a factor that activity decreased.
However, even the above-described exhaust gas purification catalyst has a risk that the activity of the catalyst is lowered after the endurance.
この理由は、排ガスの浄化反応時に生成した水と高温雰囲気によって、シリカ層を形成するSiO2のアモルファスが結晶構造に転移し、コアシェル構造が崩壊する恐れを有するからである。 This is because there is a possibility that the amorphous structure of SiO 2 forming the silica layer is transferred to the crystal structure and the core-shell structure is collapsed by the water generated during the purification reaction of the exhaust gas and the high temperature atmosphere.
また、コアシェル構造が完全に崩壊することなく一部に残った場合であっても、シリカ層の劣化が激しく、細孔が閉塞する恐れを有していた。このため、貴金属粒子の凝集が生じやすく、さらに貴金属粒子と排ガスとの接触する割合が低下し、触媒の活性が低下する恐れを有していた。 Further, even when the core-shell structure remains in a part without being completely destroyed, the silica layer is severely deteriorated and the pores may be clogged. For this reason, aggregation of the noble metal particles is likely to occur, and furthermore, the ratio of contact between the noble metal particles and the exhaust gas is reduced, which may reduce the activity of the catalyst.
本発明は、上記課題を解決するためになされたものであり、すなわち、本発明の排ガス浄化触媒は、貴金属粒子及び遷移金属粒子が接して配置された複合粒子と、複合粒子の周囲に被覆されると共に、酸化物から形成された凝集抑制層と、凝集抑制層の周囲に被覆されると共に、凝集抑制層の酸化物とは異なる酸化物から形成された担体と、を有することを要旨とする。 The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, that is, the exhaust gas purification catalyst of the present invention is coated with composite particles arranged in contact with noble metal particles and transition metal particles, and around the composite particles. And a carrier formed of an oxide different from the oxide of the aggregation suppression layer, which is coated around the aggregation suppression layer and is coated around the aggregation suppression layer. .
本発明の排ガス浄化触媒によれば、貴金属粒子の周囲に凝集抑制層と担体とを包接してコアシェル構造とすることにより、高温環境下で使用しても高い触媒活性を維持することができる。 According to the exhaust gas purification catalyst of the present invention, a high catalytic activity can be maintained even when used in a high temperature environment by enclosing the aggregation suppressing layer and the support around the noble metal particles to form a core-shell structure.
以下、添付図面を参照し、本発明の実施の形態に係る排ガス浄化触媒を説明する。 Hereinafter, an exhaust gas purification catalyst according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
本発明の実施の形態に係る排ガス浄化触媒の断面図を図1に示す。図1に示すように、排ガス浄化触媒1は、貴金属粒子2と遷移金属粒子3とが接して配置された複合粒子4を有し、複合粒子4の周囲に凝集抑制層5が被覆され、さらに凝集抑制層5の周囲に担体6が被覆された、いわゆるコアシェル構造を有する。そして、凝集抑制層5と担体6とが異なる酸化物から形成されている。
FIG. 1 shows a cross-sectional view of an exhaust gas purification catalyst according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the exhaust gas purification catalyst 1 has
図1に示す排ガス浄化触媒1は、担体6に貴金属粒子2を内包したため、貴金属粒子2の凝集(シンタリング)を物理的に抑制することができ、また、排ガス浄化触媒1は、高温環境下に晒された場合であっても貴金属粒子2の高表面積を維持することができる。また、貴金属粒子2と遷移金属粒子3とを接して配置したため、貴金属の触媒の活性がより一層高まる。さらに、担体は、排ガス(例えば、NOx、CO、HC(例えば、プロパン、エチレン、ベンゼンなど)が透過可能な細孔を有する。
Since the exhaust gas purification catalyst 1 shown in FIG. 1 includes the
上記排ガス浄化触媒1において、凝集抑制層5の酸化物は、排ガス浄化触媒1全体の30wt%以下とすることが好ましい。凝集抑制層5の酸化物は、貴金属粒子2の一部と化合物を形成することにより貴金属粒子2の凝集を抑制する効果を有するが、逆に、凝集抑制層5の酸化物が排ガス浄化触媒1全体の30wt%を超えてしまうと、貴金属粒子2が高酸化状態となり、触媒の活性が低下してしまうからである。
In the exhaust gas purification catalyst 1, the oxide of the
The
また、上記排ガス浄化触媒1において、担体6は、ZrO2、TiO2、W及びCeO2の中から選択される少なくとも一種の酸化物又は二種以上の複合酸化物から形成されることが好ましい。担体6として例示した酸化物を用いることにより、コアシェル構造を形成することが可能となり、さらに、担体6の酸化物と遷移金属粒子3との固溶を抑制することができる。特に、ZrO2から担体6を形成することにより、最も安定な効果を得ることができる。
In the exhaust gas purification catalyst 1, the
貴金属粒子2は、Pt、Pd及びRhの中から選択される一種の元素又は二種以上の合金又は混合粒とすることが好ましい。
The
遷移金属粒子3は、Mn、Fe、Co及びNiの中から選択される一種の元素、又は、二種以上の複合物(合金、混合粒)とすることが好ましい。また、貴金属と遷移金属との複合粒子(合金、混合粒)としても良いことはもちろんである。
The
Further, in the exhaust gas purification catalyst 1, the average particle size of the
It has been found that the reactivity of the exhaust gas decreases as a result of the decrease in the contact rate between the noble metal particles and the exhaust gas. In the exhaust gas purification catalyst 1, the average particle diameter of the
The average particle diameter of the
さらに、上記排ガス浄化触媒1において、担体6の平均細孔径は、0.5nm〜5nmとすることが好ましい。担体6の平均細孔径が0.5nm未満になると、貴金属粒子2と排ガスとの接触する割合が低下し、逆に、担体6の平均細孔径が5nmを超えると、貴金属粒子2が移動して凝集してしまうからである。
Furthermore, in the exhaust gas purification catalyst 1, the average pore diameter of the
また、前述した本発明の実施の形態に係る排ガス浄化触媒1は、前述した触媒を含む触媒スラリとし、この触媒スラリを耐火性の無機基材(例えば、コーディエライト製のハニカム)上にコーティングして、触媒層を有する排ガス浄化触媒として実際に使用されることが好ましい。これにより自動車に代表される内燃機関から排出される排ガスを浄化する排ガス浄化触媒として使用可能となる。 Further, the above-described exhaust gas purification catalyst 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention is a catalyst slurry containing the above-described catalyst, and this catalyst slurry is coated on a refractory inorganic base material (for example, a cordierite honeycomb). Thus, it is preferably used as an exhaust gas purification catalyst having a catalyst layer. As a result, it can be used as an exhaust gas purification catalyst that purifies exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine represented by an automobile.
次に、上記排ガス浄化触媒の製造方法を説明する。 Next, a method for producing the exhaust gas purification catalyst will be described.

An aggregation suppression layer is formed to form a first emulsion solution. To form a second emulsion solution. Then, after mixing the first emulsion solution and the second emulsion solution, a catalyst in which a support is formed by including a precursor of an oxide different from the oxide of the aggregation suppression layer on the surface of the aggregation suppression layer. It is a precursor.
第2の方法は、まず、有機溶媒中に界面活性剤を投入して形成される逆ミセルの中に貴金属粒子と遷移金属粒子とを含む複合粒子を析出させたエマルジョン溶液とし、複合粒子の周囲に、酸化物の前駆体を包接して凝集抑制層を形成する。その後、凝集抑制層の周囲に、この凝集抑制層の酸化物とは異なる酸化物の前駆体を析出させた担体を包接して触媒前駆体とするものである。 In the second method, first, an emulsion solution in which composite particles containing noble metal particles and transition metal particles are precipitated in reverse micelles formed by introducing a surfactant into an organic solvent is used. In addition, an aggregation precursor layer is formed by inclusion of an oxide precursor. Thereafter, a support on which a precursor of an oxide different from the oxide of the aggregation suppression layer is deposited around the aggregation suppression layer is used as a catalyst precursor.
その後、さらに、触媒前駆体を含むエマルジョン溶液中に、逆ミセル崩壊剤を投入して逆ミセルを崩壊した後、洗浄、乾燥し、その後、焼成して触媒粉末とするものである。 Thereafter, a reverse micelle disintegrant is further introduced into the emulsion solution containing the catalyst precursor to disintegrate the reverse micelles, followed by washing and drying, followed by firing to obtain catalyst powder.
さらに具体的に、図2に基づいて排ガス浄化触媒の製造方法を説明する。 More specifically, a method for producing an exhaust gas purification catalyst will be described with reference to FIG.

Similarly to the procedure from FIG. 2 (a) to FIG. 2 (d), first, an emulsion solution is prepared by mixing a surfactant and an aqueous transition metal salt solution in an organic solvent. ), The transition metal salt
次に、逆ミセル14を含むエマルジョン溶液中に還元剤aを投入し、逆ミセル14内部の遷移金属前駆体を還元して、図2(f)に示すように、逆ミセル14内で遷移金属粒子16を析出させる。
Next, the reducing agent a is introduced into the emulsion solution containing the
その後、エマルジョン溶液中にアンモニア水bを投入し(図2(g))、引き続き凝集抑制層を形成する酸化物の前駆体(水酸化物)cを投入する。すると、図2(h)に示すように、逆ミセル14内部に遷移金属粒子16が凝集抑制層17により包接された状態となる。
Thereafter, ammonia water b is introduced into the emulsion solution (FIG. 2 (g)), and subsequently, an oxide precursor (hydroxide) c that forms an aggregation suppressing layer is introduced. Then, as shown in FIG. 2 (h), the
その後、図2(d)に示す逆ミセル10を含む第1のエマルジョン溶液と、図2(h)に示す逆ミセルを含む第2のエマルジョン溶液とを混合する。すると、図2(i)に示すように、貴金属粒子12と遷移金属粒子16とから形成される複合粒子18の周囲に凝集抑制層19(13、17)が包接される。
Then, the 1st emulsion solution containing the

About each obtained catalyst, performance was evaluated using the following method.
まず、得られた実施例1〜実施例8及び比較例1〜比較例5の各触媒をQVエンジン(日産自動車(株)製)の排気ラインに接続し、耐久温度(触媒入口部)700℃として30時間運転し、模擬耐久劣化試験を実施して触媒を耐久させた。なお、この時に無鉛ガソリンを燃料として使用した。 First, the obtained catalysts of Examples 1 to 8 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5 were connected to the exhaust line of a QV engine (manufactured by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.), and the endurance temperature (catalyst inlet) 700 ° C. Was operated for 30 hours, and a simulated durability deterioration test was conducted to make the catalyst durable. At this time, unleaded gasoline was used as fuel.
Furthermore, the catalyst layer of the catalyst after endurance was written down and observed by TEM-EDX.
まず、少量の試料をメノウ乳鉢上で粉砕し、高分子系分散媒に混ぜてよく練り込みペースト状とした。その後、ペーストを少量採り、マイクログリッドに塗布した後、有機溶媒で分散媒を除去したマイクログリッドを観察した。 First, a small sample was pulverized on an agate mortar, mixed with a polymer dispersion medium, and kneaded well to obtain a paste. Thereafter, a small amount of paste was taken and applied to the microgrid, and then the microgrid from which the dispersion medium was removed with an organic solvent was observed.
得られた画像の中で、酸化物部分に焦点を充て、コアシェル構造を形成している酸化物の粒子を特定して、担体の粒径を測定した。担体の粒径を数ヶ所測定した上で、その平均値を求めて担体の平均粒径とした。なお、このとき透過型電子顕微鏡としてHF-2000(日立製作所(株)製)を用いて、加速電圧200kV、切削条件を常温として観察をした。 In the obtained image, the oxide particles forming the core-shell structure were identified by focusing on the oxide portion, and the particle size of the support was measured. After measuring the particle size of the carrier at several places, the average value was obtained and used as the average particle size of the carrier. At this time, HF-2000 (manufactured by Hitachi, Ltd.) was used as a transmission electron microscope, and observation was carried out at an accelerating voltage of 200 kV and cutting conditions at room temperature.
また、担体の平均細孔径は、細孔分布測定装置(島津製作所(株)社製)を用いて求めた。 The average pore diameter of the carrier was determined using a pore distribution measuring device (manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation).
As shown in Table 2, Comparative Example 2 is the same as the catalyst component of Example 1, and Comparative Example 2 is a catalyst component without the aggregation suppression layer of Example 1. Comparative Example 3 is the same as the catalyst component of Example 3, Comparative Example 4 is the same as the catalyst component of Example 4, and Comparative Example 5 is the same as the catalyst component of Example 5. In each comparative example, since the catalyst was prepared using the impregnation method, when the catalyst was prepared using the reverse micelle method as in each example, the composite particles formed by contacting the noble metal particles and the transition metal particles The catalyst in which the coagulation suppression layer and the support are coated around the catalyst cannot be formed. As a result, it was found from the results shown in Table 3 that the ηNOx purification rate of the example was higher than that of the comparative example when the example and the comparative example having the same catalyst component were compared. Further, among the examples, when the average particle diameter of the carrier after durability was as thick as 56 nm, the average particle diameter of the noble metal particles after durability was as small as 2.5 nm, and the aggregation of the noble metal particles could be suppressed. It was found that the ηNOx purification rate was also lowered because the contact rate between the noble metal particles and the exhaust gas was lowered. On the other hand, when the average particle diameter of the carrier after durability is as thin as 18 nm, the core-shell structure partially collapses and aggregation of the noble metal particles occurs. Therefore, the average particle diameter of the noble metal particles after durability is as large as 9.2 nm. Thus, it has been found that the ηNOx purification rate decreases. As a result, it has been found that a high catalytic activity can be maintained even after endurance by configuring an exhaust gas purification catalyst in which the aggregation particles are coated with oxides of different components around the composite particles.
