Description

The present invention relates to an improvement of a ballpoint pen fill filled with low viscosity ink.

Conventionally known oil-based ballpoint pen ink has high viscosity, and the amount of ink that flows out by rotation of the tip ball during writing is small. In addition, there are problems such as irregularities in writing, writing lines, thinness of density, and high writing pressure. Further, as an improvement over conventional oil-based ballpoint pens, a relatively low-viscosity ink is used. Are known. However, since this ink has a drawback that the ink tends to dry, a cap for sealing the writing tip is required.
Therefore, low-viscosity oil-based inks with excellent drying resistance can be considered, but the amount of outflow of ink is still large, and in order to increase the writing life, the diameter of the ink containing tube is increased to increase the amount of ink loaded. . Further, since the viscosity of the ink is smaller than that of a conventional oil-based ballpoint pen, the flow resistance with respect to the ink containing tube is small. Therefore, ink leakage (ink flows backward at the rear end of the ink containing tube) easily occurs due to the weight of the ink or impact.
For this purpose, a grease-like follower is provided at the trailing edge of the ink to follow the ink consumption during writing, but suppresses the backflow of the ink against the ink's own weight and impact. However, even when the follower is provided, when writing is performed upward, if the ink on the back surface of the tip ball is used up, the ink head is directly added, so that there is a risk of causing a significant back flow and soiling hands and clothes. For this reason, a follower is provided at the rear end of the ink with the tip facing upward, and a ball valve for closing the ink guide hole to the tip is provided at the front side of the ink.

Ballpoint pens contain fillers such as metals in the ink so that the drawn lines have a metallic luster, or are applied to correct typographical errors, and the ink contains coarse pigment particles and needs to be prevented from settling. A variety of inks have been developed that are simply low-viscosity, high-viscosity and cannot be categorized.
In addition, since the ballpoint pens using these inks are generally writing instruments with a large ink outflow, the ink storage tube is thick and there is a problem of ink backflow. On the other hand, there is a problem that the flow of ink is easily inhibited.

As a conventional example, a ballpoint pen having an ink backflow prevention mechanism in which a ballpoint pen tip is pressure-bonded to the front end of the joint, an ink containing tube is fastened to the rear end, and a ball valve is loosely fitted to the inner hole of the joint is shown in FIG. A refill 14 is shown.
7 and 8 show an example in which the conventional ballpoint pen refill is mounted on a writing instrument composed of a shaft cylinder and a cap. (Ball pen refills in the embodiments described later can be mounted in the same manner, and the ball pen refills in the embodiments can also be mounted on a writing instrument that is cap-off.)
As shown in the figure, the joint 15 is provided with a front shaft portion 15a in which an inclined rib is formed in a required portion in the first half, a ring-shaped flange portion is formed at the rear end of the rib, and a rear shaft in the second half. A portion 15b is provided, and the ink storage tube 10 is fixed to the rear shaft portion 15b. A tip 16 holding the tip ball 17 is pressure-bonded to the tip hole of the front shaft portion 15a.

The joint 15 is integrally formed of an elastically deformable synthetic resin, and communicates with the front end hole of the front shaft portion 15a and is provided with a valve chamber 15c on the rear side. A conical ball seat is provided at the rear of the valve chamber 15c. Further, the valve chamber 15c is in a state of being fitted in the inner periphery of the tip hole, and the shaft center of the valve chamber is appropriately decentered with respect to the tip hole, that is, the axis of the press-fitting shaft portion of the tip, and a groove portion is formed on one side of the valve chamber hole. The ball valve 19 is loosely fitted in the valve chamber. In addition, a guide hole for communicating the ball receiving seat and the ink containing portion is formed at the rear of the valve chamber.
Further, a cylindrical ink storage tube 10 is press-fitted and fixed to the outer periphery of the rear shaft portion 15b of the joint 15 with its tip abutting against the rear end of the flange portion of the joint, and the inner diameter portion of the ink storage tube 10 is guided to the joint. It communicates with the hole. An ink 11 having a low viscosity or a statically high viscosity in the ink containing tube 10 and having a shear thinning viscosity that allows the ink to flow out by decreasing the viscosity by rotation of the tip ball during writing. Further, a transparent or translucent grease-like follower 12 is filled at the rear end of the ink to prevent evaporation of the ink and to move in contact with the ink surface as the ink is consumed. A follower rod 13 having a specific gravity substantially equal to that of the follower is immersed in the follower 12.
In the ballpoint pen refill 14 configured as described above, the gap formed by contacting the tip of the ball valve 19 downward and the ball valve 19 being eccentric to the rear end of the chip is an ink inlet to the chip, and the gap is extremely small. is there. Therefore, there is a problem that the flow rate of the ink is hindered due to the small size of the inlet due to the variation in member dimensions and the aggregation of the filler at the inlet when there is a coarse filler in the ink as described above. .

Become.

A ballpoint pen refill according to a second aspect of the present invention is the ballpoint pen refill according to the first aspect, wherein the front of the valve chamber integrally provided behind the joint is tapered in the rear hole where the ridge portion of the spring is located. In addition, the members can be easily assembled, and a ballpoint pen refill can be provided at a low cost.

FIG.1 and FIG.2 has shown the ball-point pen refill 1 which is embodiment of this invention.
As shown in the figure, the joint 2 is provided with a front shaft portion 3 in which an inclined rib is formed at a required portion in the first half, and a ring-shaped flange portion 5 is formed at the rear end of the rib, and in the second half. A shaft portion 4 is provided, and an ink storage tube 10 is fixed to the rear shaft portion 4.
In addition, a thin tubular tip 6 holding the tip ball 7 is pressure-bonded to the tip hole 3a of the front shaft portion 3 so that the rear end thereof is substantially in contact with the step portion 3c. Further, a slightly enlarged rear hole 3b is provided behind the stepped portion 3c, and a guide surface 3d having a tapered or uneven curved surface at the front end of the rear hole 3b and a protrusion 3e at the rear end of the rear hole 3b. Is provided.

Further, a round peripheral portion 4d is formed on the rear outer peripheral portion of the rear shaft portion 4, and a rear end portion 4c is further formed on the rear side. The rear shaft portion 4 is pressure-bonded to the ink containing tube 10, but the outer peripheral size of the rear end portion 4 c is set slightly smaller than the inner peripheral size of the ink containing tube 10.
Further, the inner surface of the constricted portion 4d is formed as a guide hole 4f, and a tapered portion is formed on the front and rear inner surfaces thereof. The front tapered portion is used as a valve body receiving seat 4b, and the front inner surface thereof is tapered to form a tapered portion 4g. The valve chamber 4a is connected between the valve element receiving seat 4b and the protrusion 3e provided at the rear end of the rear hole 3b.

On the other hand, the spring 9 has a straight portion 9a at the front, a ridge portion 9b is formed at the rear, and an axial protruding portion 9c is formed at the rear end of the ridge portion 9b. A saddle portion is provided at the rear end of the saddle portion 9b as necessary. The spring 9 is inserted from the rear end of the rear end portion 4 c of the joint 2, the rear end of the ridge portion 9 b abuts against the front end of the protrusion 3 e and is prevented from coming off, and the front end of the straight portion 9 a is By pressing the back surface, the tip ball 7 is provided so as to be in liquid-tight contact with the inner surface of the ball holding portion 6a of the chip.
As a result, in the case of low-viscosity ink or ink that is easy to dry, it is possible to prevent direct current (blurring of ink) and ink clogging of the tip ball portion. Also, the spring pressing force varies depending on the tip ball diameter and the type of ink, but in the case of a low-viscosity ballpoint pen with a tip ball diameter of around 0.5 mm, the correction tool type with a large tip ball diameter is about 20 to 20 grams. It is set in the range of about 300 grams.

Further, since the outer peripheral size of the rear end 4c of the joint 2 is set slightly smaller than the inner peripheral size of the ink containing tube 10, the ball-shaped valve body 8 is tapered from the rear end of the rear end 4c. By pressing the portion 4e, the front and rear tapered portions are easily bent and deformed while the rear end portion 4c slides, so that the constricted portion 4d is elastically deformed in the expanding direction, and the valve body 8 is moved into the valve chamber 4a. In addition to being loosely fitted, the valve body 8 is in close contact with the valve body receiving seat 4b when the tip 6 is facing upward, and the guide hole 4f can be closed in a liquid-tight manner. In the embodiment, the valve body 8 is shown as a sphere, but it may be a rod-like body as an equivalent means. Further, the valve chamber can be provided without being limited to the means formed by the above-described constricted portion.

Also, the ink containing tube 10 is filled with a low viscosity ink such as a water-based or low-viscosity oil-based ink having a so-called shear thinning, or an ink 11 containing a coarse filler as the ink. At the rear end of the ink, a grease-like follower 12 that follows the ink as the ink is consumed is disposed. Further, if necessary, a resin follower rod 13 having a specific gravity substantially equal to that of the follower is immersed in the follower 12. The ink storage tube 10 is usually an extruded tube made of polypropylene resin, a metal tube, or the like.

When ink with poor fluidity is used, the valve body and the valve chamber need to be set with a sufficient clearance dimension that does not hinder the ink fluidity described above, and the valve body operates quickly. For this purpose, an appropriate size and an appropriate amount of mass are required.
That is, the joint structure as in the embodiment shown in FIG. 6 has a large valve chamber, and a large valve body (ball valve) cannot be loosely fitted. Further, there is a method of inserting the valve body from the rear end of the joint and fixing the bush provided with the valve body seat separately to the joint, but there is a disadvantage that the cost increases due to an increase in the number of members.

(Function)
The embodiment shown in FIG. 1 shows a state in which the tip 6 faces upward. At that time, the valve body 8 is positioned on the valve body receiving seat 4b of the valve chamber 4a and seals the guide hole 4f, so that it is written upward. Even if the ink on the back surface of the tip ball 7 of the chip runs out, the head is applied to the ink and does not flow backward. Therefore, when the tip 6 is turned downward, the ink can immediately flow out, and dripping is prevented by writing. (By the way, in the structure that does not have a ball valve, the ink acts in the reverse flow direction when writing upward, so that air is entrained in the tip, and ink does not follow immediately when writing downward)
Also, the tip ball 7 is brought into close contact with the inner surface of the ball holding portion 6a of the chip by the action of the spring 9, so that direct current of ink and drying of the tip portion are prevented.
Further, as shown in FIG. 2, in the downward state of the tip 6, the valve body 8 abuts against the rear end of the protruding portion 9c of the spring, and a gap formed between the valve body peripheral surface and the valve chamber inner surface is formed. The ink is supplied to the chip side through communication.

Further, when the valve body 8 is inserted into the valve chamber, the valve body 8 presses the rear taper portion 4e from the rear end portion 4c of the joint 2 so that the rear end portion 4c slides. Since the front and rear tapered portions are easily bent and deformed, the valve body 8 is easily fitted into the valve chamber 4a without damaging the valve body seat 4b. Further, since the ink valve has a large valve body and a large ink flow path to the tip side can be formed, ink with poor fluidity can be used without any problem.

Further, when the spring 9 is inserted from the rear end of the joint 2, a taper formed at the front end of the rear hole 3b while the front end of the straight portion 9a of the spring remains cut and the straight portion is bent. Is guided by a guide surface 3d having a curved surface of a shape or an uneven shape, and can be inserted without being caught on the inner surface of the tip, and the winding portion 9b of the spring is guided by a tapered portion 4g in front of the valve chamber 4a, The spring 9 can be easily inserted.
Therefore, the quality is improved as compared with the conventional example, the members can be easily assembled, and the ballpoint pen refill can be provided at low cost.

3 to 5 show a ballpoint pen refill 1a which is another embodiment of the present invention. Only differences from the above-described embodiment will be described below.

As shown in the figure, the spring 25 is formed by bending a horizontal shaft portion 25e at the rear end of the shoreline portion 25b so as to cross the center, and the horizontal shaft portion 25e is bent at the other end intersecting the shoreline portion. A portion 25d is provided to form a horizontal shaft portion 25f that is folded back so as to be double with the horizontal shaft portion 25e, and is further bent at a right angle at the center of the winding portion to form a protruding portion 25c in the axial direction. . (Note that FIG. 5 shows a single collar portion at the rear end of the ridge portion. Further, the shape of the bent portion that increases the rigidity in the axial direction of the protruding portion 25c is limited to this embodiment. Can be provided without
In this case, even if the wire diameter of the spring 25 is small and delicate, the rigidity of the protruding portion 9c in the axial direction can be increased with respect to the rear end of the wire portion 9b, so the spring 25 is inserted from the rear end of the joint. Then, the valve body 8 is inserted, the rear end of the valve body 8 is pressed, the valve body 8 is pushed into the valve chamber 4a, and at the same time, the valve body 8 presses the rear end of the protruding portion 9c. The rear end of 25b can be brought into contact with and locked to the front end of the protrusion 3e. Accordingly, the members can be easily assembled.
