Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a stator, and more particularly to a stator of a torque converter.
The torque converter is a device having a torus (impeller, turbine, stator) composed of three types of impellers, and transmitting power by a fluid inside the torus. The impeller forms a fluid chamber filled with hydraulic oil inside together with the front cover. The impeller mainly includes an annular impeller shell, a plurality of impeller blades fixed to the inside of the impeller shell, and an annular impeller core fixed to the inside of the impeller blade. The turbine is disposed in the fluid chamber so as to face the impeller in the axial direction. The turbine mainly includes an annular turbine shell, a plurality of turbine blades fixed to an impeller side surface of the turbine shell, and an annular turbine core fixed to the inside of the turbine blade. The inner peripheral part of the turbine shell is fixed to the flange of the turbine hub by a plurality of rivets. The turbine hub is connected to the input shaft so as not to rotate relative to the input shaft. The stator is a mechanism for rectifying the flow of hydraulic oil returning from the turbine to the impeller, and is disposed between the inner peripheral portion of the impeller and the inner peripheral portion of the turbine. The stator mainly includes an annular stator hub, a plurality of stator blades provided on the outer peripheral surface of the stator hub, and an annular stator core fixed to the tips of the plurality of stator blades. The stator hub is supported by a fixed shaft via a one-way clutch (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
The torque converter achieves an improvement in torque ratio and torque transmission efficiency by obtaining a torque amplification effect by the stator. For example, consider a case where the torque converter has a low speed ratio range, particularly a case where the speed ratio is 0 (stall state where the turbine is not rotating). When there is no stator, the hydraulic oil returning from the turbine to the impeller collides with the impeller blade abdominal surface (front surface with respect to the impeller rotation direction). Therefore, the flow of the hydraulic oil inhibits the rotation of the impeller, and a torque amplification effect cannot be obtained. Therefore, by causing the hydraulic oil flowing out from the turbine to collide with the abdominal surface of the stator blade having a curved blade cross-sectional shape (front surface with respect to the impeller rotation direction), the flow direction of the hydraulic oil is changed to the impeller rotation direction side. Yes. Thereby, since the hydraulic oil boosts the impeller, the torque is amplified in the relative torque with the turbine, and the torque transmission efficiency is also improved.
The torque amplification action of the stator described above is greatly influenced by the shape of the stator blade. FIG. 11 shows the flow of hydraulic oil around the stator blade, and FIG. 12 shows the performance curve of the torque converter. In FIG. 11, the rotation direction of the impeller is downward. As shown in FIG. 11, in the stalled state, the hydraulic oil flows in from the
As shown in FIG. 11, the flow direction of the hydraulic oil gradually changes from the
As described above, if the stator blade is designed with an emphasis on the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region, the fluid flow is inhibited by the upstream
An object of the present invention is to improve the maximum efficiency while ensuring a torque ratio in a low speed ratio region of a torque converter.
The stator according to
The conventional stator blade has one curved blade cross-sectional shape in order to increase the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region. However, in the high speed ratio region, the fluid flow is hindered by the upstream curved portion of the stator blade as described above, so that the maximum efficiency of the torque converter cannot be improved. However, in this stator, since the first blade on the upstream side of the stator blade is rotatably connected to the stator hub, the portion corresponding to the upstream curved portion of the stator blade rotates according to the fluid flow. To do. Thereby, obstruction of the fluid flow by the stator blade can be prevented, and the maximum efficiency can be improved while ensuring the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the first and second blades form a blade cross-sectional shape as a whole.
In this case, since the first and second blades form a blade cross-sectional shape as a whole, the fluid flow can be reliably adjusted in the impeller rotation direction in the low speed ratio region. Thereby, the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region can be ensured.
The stator according to
In this case, since the flow path is formed between both blades, the fluid flow is not hindered by the upstream curved portion when the fluid flows through the flow path in the high speed ratio region. Thereby, the maximum efficiency can be improved.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, the stator according to the fourth aspect includes first and second contact surfaces on which the first and second blades contact each other. Further, the flow path is formed between the first contact surface and the second contact surface.
In this case, since the flow path is formed between the first contact surface and the second contact surface, the first blade rotates according to the flow of the fluid and the first and second contact surfaces contact each other. Then, the flow path is closed. Further, when the first blade rotates and the first and second contact surfaces do not contact each other, the blades are separated from each other, so that a flow path is formed. Thereby, in the low speed ratio region, the flow path can be closed and the fluid flow direction can be reliably changed by the upstream curved portion. As a result, since the fluid boosts the impeller, the conventional torque ratio can be ensured. In the high speed ratio region, a flow path can be formed to prevent the fluid flow from being blocked by the upstream curved portion. As a result, the highest efficiency can be improved.
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to fourth aspects, the first blade has a first rear end portion formed in a tapered shape at an end portion on the downstream side.
In this case, since the downstream end portion of the first blade is tapered, when the first blade and the second blade come into contact with each other to form a stator blade, an extra portion is formed around the downstream end portion of the first blade. Since no step or the like is formed, it is possible to secure a shape that does not hinder the flow as a stator blade. Further, when the flow path is formed by the first and second blades, it is possible to suppress the generation of turbulent flow having a large frictional resistance around the downstream end portion of the first blade, thereby improving the maximum efficiency. be able to.
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, in the stator according to any of the first to fifth aspects, the second blade has a second front end portion formed in a tapered shape at the upstream end portion.
In this case, since the upstream end portion of the second blade is tapered, when the first blade and the second blade come into contact with each other to form a stator blade, there is an excess around the upstream end portion of the second blade. Since it is difficult to form a step or the like, it is possible to secure a shape that does not hinder the flow as a stator blade. Further, when the flow path is formed by the first and second blades, it is possible to suppress the generation of turbulent flow having a large frictional resistance around the upstream end portion of the second blade, thereby improving the maximum efficiency. be able to.
According to a seventh aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to sixth aspects, the first blade has a first front end portion in which an upstream surface is formed in a curved shape at an upstream end portion.
In this case, since the upstream end of the first blade has a curved shape, when the stator blade is formed in contact with the second blade, the blade cross-sectional shape as a whole can be easily formed. And can cope with various inflow angles. In addition, since the downstream side of the first blade is tapered as described above, the blade cross-sectional shape can be formed even by the first blade alone, and the shape in which the flow of fluid is difficult to be inhibited can be achieved.
A stator according to an eighth aspect is the stator according to the seventh aspect, wherein the first front end portion is disposed close to the second front end portion.
In this case, since the first front end portion of the first blade and the second front end portion of the second blade are arranged close to each other, the blade cross-sectional shape can be more easily formed when both blades come into contact with each other to form a stator blade. Can be formed.
According to a ninth aspect of the present invention, in the stator according to any of the sixth to eighth aspects, the second blade has a second rear end portion formed in a tapered shape at an end portion opposite to the second front end portion. .
In this case, since the downstream end of the second blade is tapered, generation of turbulent flow having a large frictional resistance on the downstream side of the second blade can be suppressed, and the highest efficiency can be improved. .
The stator according to
In this case, since the end portion of the second blade is fitted in the groove portion, the rotatable range is restricted to a certain range when the first blade rotates. Thereby, when the fluid flow is in an unsteady state, it is possible to prevent occurrence of self-excited vibration of the torque converter due to the rotation of the first blade.
According to an eleventh aspect of the present invention, in the tenth aspect, the groove portion has a gap between the rotation direction of the groove portion and the end portion of the second blade.
In this case, by adjusting the gap between the groove and the end of the second blade, the range of the rotation angle of both blades can be adjusted, and the occurrence of self-excited vibration of the torque converter can be prevented more reliably. Can do.
According to a twelfth aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to eleventh aspects, the second blade is fixed to the outer peripheral side of the stator hub so as not to rotate.
In this case, since the second blade is not rotatable, the rotatable angle of the first blade is regulated by the second blade. Further, when the first blade comes into contact with the second blade, the position of the first blade is stabilized.
According to a thirteenth aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to twelfth aspects, the stator hub is supported by a one-way clutch so as to be rotatable only in one direction. Further, the first blade is disposed on the front side in the rotatable direction of the stator hub with respect to the second blade.
In this case, since the first blade is arranged on the front side in the rotatable direction of the stator hub of the second blade, the fluid collides with the stator blade from the rear side in the rotatable direction of the stator hub in the low speed ratio region. Since the one blade rotates and contacts the second blade, the position of the first blade is stabilized. Thereby, the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region can be secured by the stator blade.
The stator according to
The conventional stator blade has one curved blade cross-sectional shape in order to increase the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region. However, in the high speed ratio region, the fluid flow is hindered by the upstream curved portion of the stator blade, so that the maximum efficiency of the torque converter cannot be improved. In this stator, since the first blade corresponding to the upstream curved portion of the first and second blades is connected to the stator hub so as to be relatively movable, the upstream curved portion of the stator blade is moved relative to the stator hub. Inhibition of fluid flow can be prevented. Thereby, it is possible to improve the maximum efficiency while securing the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region.
According to a fifteenth aspect of the present invention, in the stator according to the fourteenth aspect, the first and second blades form a blade cross-sectional shape as a whole.
In this case, since the first and second blades form a blade cross-sectional shape as a whole, the fluid flow can be reliably adjusted in the impeller rotation direction in the low speed ratio region. Thereby, the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region can be ensured.
A stator according to a sixteenth aspect is the stator according to the fourteenth or fifteenth aspect, wherein the first and second blades move relative to the stator hub in accordance with the flow direction of the fluid, thereby forming a shape along the flow of the fluid. is doing.
In this case, since the entire stator blade forms a shape along the fluid flow, the stator blade is unlikely to obstruct the fluid flow in the high speed ratio region. Thereby, the maximum efficiency in a high speed ratio area can be improved reliably.
A stator according to a seventeenth aspect is the stator according to any one of the fourteenth to sixteenth aspects, wherein the first blade body is provided at the upstream end portion with respect to the stator hub. And a first blade body coupled so as to be relatively movable. The second blade includes a second blade body that forms a main portion, and a second blade body that is provided at a downstream end portion and rotatably connects the second blade body to the stator hub. The second blade has a connecting portion that is connected to an end portion on the downstream side of the first blade so as to be movable relative to each other.
In this case, since the first and second blades have the first blade body, the second blade body, and the connecting portion, the first and second blades move relative to the stator hub, so that the entire stator blade Can be changed to a shape that adjusts the flow direction of the fluid and the shape along the flow of the fluid. As a result, the maximum efficiency can be improved while securing the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region.
The stator according to
In this case, since the first and second blades are connected by the connecting portion, the connecting portion has a connecting elongated hole so that the first blade and the second blade can be relatively moved and rotated, and are movable. The range is limited to the long hole range. As a result, since the entire stator blade can be moved relative to the stator hub within a certain range, the shape of the stator blade is stabilized within the certain range. In addition, since the shape of the stator blade is stable within a certain range, the occurrence of self-excited vibration of the torque converter due to the relative movement of the first and second blades with respect to the stator hub when the fluid flow is in an unsteady state is prevented. be able to.
A stator according to a nineteenth aspect is the stator according to the eighteenth aspect, wherein the first blade body has a first shaft extending in a radial direction from the stator hub, and a first elongated hole extending toward the connecting shaft and penetrating the first shaft. ing.
In this case, the first blade can move and rotate relative to the stator hub, and the movable range is limited to the long hole range. As a result, since the entire stator blade can be moved relative to the stator hub within a certain range, the shape of the stator blade is stabilized within the certain range.
A torque converter according to a twentieth aspect is the torque converter according to any one of the first to twentieth aspects, for transmitting torque from the engine to the transmission side by a fluid. This torque converter is disposed on the engine side, and is disposed on the transmission side of the front cover to which torque from the engine is input. The torque converter forms a fluid chamber together with the front cover, and is provided with a plurality of blades on the inside. The impeller includes a turbine disposed on the engine side of the impeller in the fluid chamber and capable of outputting torque to the transmission side, and a stator disposed between the inner peripheral portions of the impeller and the turbine.
In this case, by adopting the stator having the above-described configuration in the torque converter, it is possible to improve the maximum efficiency while ensuring the torque ratio in the low speed ratio region.

The
As shown in FIG. 2, the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The

4). Operation The flow of hydraulic oil around the
In the stall state, the flow of hydraulic oil around the

1. Structure of Stator Blade FIG. 5 is a sectional view of the
As shown in FIG. 5, the
As shown in FIG. 5, the

2. Operation In the stalled state, the flow of hydraulic oil around the

1. Structure of Stator Blade FIG. 7 is a sectional view of the
As shown in FIG. 7, the
As shown in FIG. 8, the
The structure around the connecting portion of the first
The

Further, from the low speed ratio range to the high speed ratio range, as shown in FIG. 7, the
