Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for generating a plasma in a liquid.
In the plasma CVD method such as the method described in
The present invention provides a submerged plasma apparatus and a submerged apparatus that can control the start and continuation of plasma and can be carried out stably over a wide range of usage conditions while taking advantage of the characteristics of submerged plasma that has a high reaction rate and is safe and easy to handle An object is to provide a plasma generation method.
In order to solve the above problems, an in-liquid plasma apparatus according to the present invention includes a container for holding a liquid, an electromagnetic wave irradiation means for irradiating an electromagnetic wave in the liquid, and a method for controlling the generation of plasma. It has plasma generation assisting means. As plasma generation assisting means, a laser irradiation device may be used, or a DC discharge generation device may be used. Further, it is possible to provide scanning means for scanning with a laser. An external container covering the container for holding the liquid and an atmospheric pressure adjusting device for adjusting the atmospheric pressure in the external container may be added.
Furthermore, the method for generating plasma in liquid according to the present invention is to start generation of plasma by irradiating a liquid with an electromagnetic wave and irradiating a laser to a position where the electromagnetic wave is irradiated. The generation of plasma may be continued by continuously irradiating the position where the electromagnetic wave is irradiated with the laser. Furthermore, the plasma generation position can be changed by changing the laser irradiation location.
Furthermore, in another method for generating plasma in liquid according to the present invention, plasma generation is started by irradiating an electromagnetic wave in a liquid and generating a direct current discharge at a position where the electromagnetic wave is irradiated. The generation of plasma may be continued by continuously generating a direct current discharge at a position irradiated with electromagnetic waves.
The submerged plasma apparatus and submerged plasma generation method according to the present invention is capable of decomposing a substance at a high reaction rate by using a submerged plasma that is locally high in energy but low in temperature and safe and easy to handle.・ Processing such as synthesis, which synthesizes crystals and controls plasma generation by means of plasma generation auxiliary means, so that it is possible to control the start of plasma generation without depending on accidental factors. Has an effect.
The best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is an explanatory view showing an example of a submerged plasma apparatus according to the present invention. The
Various materials can be selected as the
The submerged
Next, a method for generating submerged plasma by the submerged
The electromagnetic wave irradiation means 4 is operated to irradiate the
Therefore, the laser irradiation device 6 is operated by the
As described above, the generation of plasma can be controlled by irradiating the laser. Maintaining the plasma is easier than starting it, but depending on the conditions such as the type and concentration of the
Various treatments can be performed by the generated plasma. Diamonds and carbon nanotubes can be synthesized by using carbon-containing materials as raw material liquids, and can be widely used as reactors for decomposing and detoxifying various harmful substances. A film made of diamond, amorphous carbon, silicon carbide or the like can be formed on the substrate as in the example described later. Unlike conventional vapor deposition such as CVD, the reaction rate is significantly improved because a liquid having a high material density is used as a raw material. In addition, there is a cooling effect by the liquid by reacting in the liquid, and in the case of forming a film on the substrate, it is possible to use a heat-sensitive material as the substrate, which has not been considered in the past such as plastic, paper, wood, etc. Any material can be used as the substrate.
FIG. 2 is an explanatory view showing a second example of the in-liquid plasma reactor. This is a modification of the apparatus shown in FIG. 1, and the laser irradiation apparatus 6 is provided with scanning means 8 for scanning the laser. In this example, the angle of the lens 9 for condensing the laser is changed within a predetermined range. By changing the angle of the lens 9, the focal position changes, and the point where the laser is focused is moved. In FIG. 2, the
FIG. 3 is an explanatory view showing a third example of the in-liquid plasma device. In this example, a
Next, examples of the present invention will be described. The in-liquid plasma apparatus shown in FIG. 1 was used. Here, 70 cc of dodecane was used as the
In this embodiment, an external container (not shown) that covers a container for holding the liquid and an atmospheric pressure adjusting device (not shown) for adjusting the atmospheric pressure in the external container are provided. Such an atmospheric pressure can be changed. The graph shown in FIG. 4 shows the electromagnetic wave output required for starting plasma while changing the pressure applied to the
