Abstract
【解決手段】ゲート信号を伝達する複数のゲート線と、データ電圧を伝達する複数のデータ線と、そしてゲート線とデータ線に連結されており、ゲート信号によってデータ電圧を選択的に伝達するスイッチング素子と、スイッチング素子を備える複数の画素からなる少なくとも一つの画素行を含む複数の画素行群とを含む。この時、各画素行群のスイッチング素子は同じ側のデータ線に連結されており、隣接した画素行群のスイッチング素子は互いに異なる側のデータ線に連結されている。これにより、データ線に印加されるデータ電圧の極性が列反転方式で決められるが、実際画素の極性状態はn×1ドット反転を実現するので、垂直フリッカー現象と垂直クロストーク現象が生じず、かつデータ線の信号遅延問題が解決する。

<実施例>
[液晶表示装置の構造]
図1は本発明の一実施例による液晶表示装置のブロック図である。また、図2は本発明の一実施例による液晶表示装置の、一つの画素に対する等価回路図である。
図3乃至図5bは本発明の実施例による液晶表示装置の、画素のスイッチング素子の配置、つまり、xで表示したスイッチング素子Qとゲート線G1−Gn及びデータ線D1−Dmの連結関係を示している。
(色表示)
一方、色表示を実現するためには各画素が三原色のうちの一つを固有に表示するか(空間分割)、各画素が時間によって交互に三原色を表示するように(時間分割)して、これら三原色の空間的、時間的合計によって所望の色相が認識されるようにする。図2は空間分割の一例として各画素が画素電極190に対応する領域に赤色、緑色、または青色のカラーフィルター230を備えることを示している。ここで、図2では上部表示板にカラーフィルター230を形成しているが、図2とは異なり、カラーフィルター230は下部表示板100の画素電極190下に形成してもよい。
(各部分の構造)
また、液晶表示板組立体300の二つの表示板100、200のうちの少なくとも一つの外側面には、光を偏光させる偏光子(図示せず)が付着されている。
[表示動作]
以下より、このような液晶表示装置の表示動作について詳細に説明する。
[反転形態]
以下に、本発明の実施例による反転形態について、図3乃至図5bを参考として詳細に説明する。
[垂直クロストークの影響減少の理由]
このような区間反転方式を液晶表示装置に適用すると、垂直クロストークの影響を大きく減少させることができ、画質を向上させることができる。以下より、これについて詳細に説明する。

Claims (12)
- 行列形態に配列されており、スイッチング素子を備える複数の画素からなる少なくとも一つの画素行を各々含む複数の画素行集合と、
前記スイッチング素子に連結されており、前記スイッチング素子をオンさせるゲートオン電圧を伝達する複数のゲート線と、
前記スイッチング素子に連結されており、データ電圧を伝達する複数のデータ線と、
を含み、
隣接した前記画素行集合の前記スイッチング素子の位置は互いに異なっている、液晶表示装置。 - 同一の画素行集合内で各スイッチング素子の位置は同一であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 隣接した画素行集合のデータ電圧は互いに異なる極性を有することを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 同一の画素行集合内で各画素行のデータ電圧は同一極性を有することを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素行集合の少なくとも一つの画素行は異なるパルス幅のゲートオン電圧によってデータ電圧が印加されることを特徴とする、請求項2乃至請求項4のうちのいずれか一つに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素行集合の少なくとも一つの画素行はゲートオフ電圧によってデータ電圧が印加されないことを特徴とする、請求項2乃至請求項4のうちのいずれか一つに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 映像データと制御信号とを提供する信号制御部と、
前記映像データを前記データ電圧に変換して前記データ線に印加するデータ駆動部と、
をさらに含み、
前記データ駆動部は前記データ線を通して、前記画素行集合の少なくとも一つの画素行に映像データを出力することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記信号制御部から前記制御信号を受けて複数の出力端子を通じてゲートオン電圧を出力するゲート駆動部をさらに含み、
前記複数の出力端子は、ゲート線と連結されていない第1出力端子と、前記画素行集合の画素行に連結されたゲート線と連結されている第2出力端子と、を有し、
前記ゲートオン電圧は前記第1出力端子と前記第2出力端子とを通じて連続して出力されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置。 - ゲート信号を伝達する複数のゲート線と、
データ電圧を伝達する複数のデータ線と、
前記ゲート線と前記データ線に連結されており、前記ゲート信号によって前記データ電圧を選択的に伝達するスイッチング素子と、
前記スイッチング素子を備える複数の画素からなる少なくとも一つの画素行を含む複数の画素行集合と
を含み、
同一の前記画素行集合内で各スイッチング素子の位置は同一であり、
隣接した画素行集合のスイッチング素子は互いに異なっていることを特徴とする、液晶表示装置。 - 隣接した画素行集合のデータ電圧は互いに異なる極性を有することを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 同一の前記画素行集合内での各画素行のデータ電圧は同一極性を有することを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 複数のゲート線と、複数のデータ線と、前記ゲート線及び前記データ線と連結されているスイッチング素子と、前記スイッチング素子を備える複数の画素からなる少なくとも一つの画素行を各々含む第1及び第2画素行集合と、を含む液晶表示装置の駆動方法であって、
前記データ線に第1データ電圧を印加する段階と、
前記第1画素行集合に連結されている前記ゲート線にゲートオン電圧を印加して前記スイッチング素子をオンさせて、前記第1データ電圧を前記第1画素行集合に充電する段階と、
前記データ線に前記第1データ電圧と極性が反対である第2データ電圧を印加する段階と、
前記第2画素行集合に連結されているゲート線にゲートオン電圧を印加して前記スイッチング素子をオンさせて、前記第2データ電圧を前記第2画素行集合に充電する段階と、
を含み、
隣接した画素行集合のスイッチング素子の位置は互いに異なっていることを特徴とする、液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
