Abstract
【解決手段】 インクジェットヘッド1は、インク供給口から供給されたインクが圧力室10を経由してノズルから吐出されるように内部に個別インク流路が形成された流路ユニット4と、流路ユニット4の上面に接着されたアクチュエータユニット21とを含んでなる。アクチュエータユニット21は4枚の圧電シート41〜44が積層された構成からなり、圧電シート41の上面には、圧力室10と対向する位置に個別電極35が配置されている。個別電極35はアクチュエータユニット21に駆動信号を供給するFPC50が接合されている。

Claims (6)
- それぞれがノズルに連通した複数の圧力室が平面に沿って配列されており、インク供給口から前記圧力室を経て前記ノズルに至るインク流路を内部に有する流路ユニットと、
各圧力室の平面領域内に形成された個別電極と、複数の前記個別電極に跨って形成された共通電極と、前記共通電極と複数の前記個別電極とによって挟まれた圧電シートとを有していると共に、前記平面と平行な前記流路ユニットの一表面に固定され、前記圧電シートの変形により前記圧力室の容積を変化させるアクチュエータユニットとを備え、
前記個別電極が、主電極領域部と、前記主電極領域部とつながっており且つ前記主電極領域部よりも平面積が小さい補助電極領域部とを有しており、
前記補助電極領域部の各々と接合される端子を有し、前記アクチュエータユニットに駆動信号を供給する柔軟ケーブルを備えていることを特徴とするインクジェットヘッド。 - 前記圧力室の平面形状が2つの鋭角部を有する平行四辺形形状であり、前記補助電極領域部が前記圧力室の一方の鋭角部と対向する位置に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のインクジェットヘッド。
- それぞれがノズルに連通した複数の圧力室が平面に沿って配列されており、インク供給口から前記圧力室を経て前記ノズルに至るインク流路を内部に有し、前記平面と平行な一面において前記圧力室が開口する流路ユニットを作製する工程と、
各圧力室の平面領域内に収まる平面形状を有する個別電極と、複数の前記個別電極に跨って形成された共通電極と、前記共通電極と複数の前記個別電極とによって挟まれた圧電シートとを有するアクチュエータユニットを作製する工程と、
各個別電極が前記圧力室の平面領域内に収まるように位置合わせされた状態で、前記流路ユニットの前記一面に前記アクチュエータユニットを接合する工程と、
各圧力室の内圧を上昇させる工程と、
各圧力室の内圧を上昇させた状態で前記アクチュエータユニットに駆動信号を供給する柔軟ケーブルを、前記アクチュエータユニットに対して押圧することによって、前記アクチュエータユニットの前記各個別電極と前記柔軟ケーブルの端子とを接合する工程とを備えていることを特徴とするインクジェットヘッドの製造方法。 - 前記柔軟ケーブルを前記アクチュエータユニットに接合する工程において、前記柔軟ケーブルを前記圧力室の内圧と実質的に同じ圧力で前記アクチュエータユニットに対して押圧することを特徴とする請求項3に記載のインクジェットヘッドの製造方法。
- 各圧力室の内圧を上昇させる工程が、前記ノズルが形成されたインク吐出面を封止する工程を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載のインクジェットヘッドの製造方法。
- 各圧力室の内圧を上昇させる工程が、前記封止する工程の後に行われる工程であって、前記インク供給口から気体を導入し前記圧力室に気体を充満させる工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のインクジェットヘッドの製造方法。
