Abstract
【解決手段】硬質合金からなる母材の表面に、少なくともTiCN膜とAl2O3膜とを順次被着形成した硬質被覆膜を具備し、前記TiCN膜が、断面で見て、前記母材との界面に対して垂直な方向に成長した筋状TiCN結晶からなるとともに、TiCN膜の炭素Cと窒素Nの構成比C/Nが、前記Al2O3膜側の最上層に位置する1.5≦C/N≦4である炭素冨化TiCN膜と、該炭素冨化TiCN膜の下層に位置する0.2≦C/N≦0.7である窒素冨化TiCN膜と、の構成比C/Nの異なる2層以上にて構成した表面被覆切削工具である。

Description
上述した表面被覆切削工具を製造するには、まず、上述した硬質合金を焼成によって形成しうる金属炭化物、窒化物、炭窒化物、酸化物等の無機物粉末に、金属粉末、カーボン粉末等を適宜添加、混合し、プレス成形、鋳込成形、押出成形、冷間静水圧プレス成形等の公知の成形方法によって所定の工具形状に成形した後、真空中または非酸化性雰囲気中にて焼成することによって上述した硬質合金からなる母材を作製する。

Claims (5)
- 硬質合金からなる母材の表面に、少なくともTiCN膜とAl2O3膜とを順次被着形成した硬質被覆膜を具備し、前記TiCN膜が、縦断面で見て、前記母材との界面に対して垂直な方向に成長した筋状TiCN結晶からなるとともに、前記TiCN膜の炭素Cと窒素Nの構成比C/Nが、前記Al2O3膜側の最上層に位置して1.5≦C/N≦4である炭素冨化TiCN膜と、該炭素冨化TiCN膜の下層に位置して0.2≦C/N≦0.7である窒素冨化TiCN膜との構成比C/Nの異なる2層以上にて構成したことを特徴とする表面被覆切削工具。
- 前記炭素冨化TiCN膜と前記Al2O3膜の間に(Ti(CxNyOz)x+y+z=1,0≦x≦1、0≦y≦1、0<z≦1)の中間膜が存在することを特徴とする請求項1記載の表面被覆切削工具。
- 前記Al2O3膜の厚みが1〜10μm、前記TiCN膜の総厚みが3〜15μmであることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の表面被覆切削工具。
- 前記窒素冨化TiCN膜の膜厚みtNに対する炭素冨化TiCN膜の膜厚みtCの比tC/tNが0.8〜1.2であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか記載の表面被覆切削工具。
- 前記TiCN膜において、前記炭素冨化TiCN膜中の筋状TiCN結晶の平均結晶幅が前記窒素冨化TiCN膜中の筋状TiCN結晶の平均結晶幅より大きいことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか記載の表面被覆切削工具。
