BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fuel cell equipped with a hydrogen recovery device, and more specifically, a hydrogen purifier that contains a hydrogen storage alloy is connected to a hydrogen exhaust gas line, and hydrogen contained in the hydrogen exhaust gas of the fuel cell is stored in the hydrogen storage alloy. It is related with the fuel cell which refine | purifies and collects.
[0002]
[Prior art and problems]
Currently, fuel cell systems that supply hydrogen obtained from various raw materials have been proposed. However, except when supplying pure hydrogen gas using liquid hydrogen or hydrocracked hydrogen gas, there is a high possibility that impure gas is contained in the hydrogen gas as the fuel, and the impure gas accumulates in the fuel cell stack, Since there is a possibility that the power generation output will decrease, the process of discharging impure gas from the hydrogen exhaust line that discharges the hydrogen exhaust gas of the fuel cell is implemented.
[0003]
When impure gas is contained in hydrogen gas, which is a fuel, in general, when hydrogen gas is supplied to a solid polymer fuel cell and hydrogen and oxygen are reacted in the fuel cell to generate power, hydrogen gas The hydrogen gas that has not been consumed in the fuel cell is discharged out of the system as hydrogen exhaust gas, and exhausted or burned. When used for combustion, hydrogen that has not been consumed for power generation becomes hydrogen exhaust gas together with carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water vapor, etc., so that it is burned in the combustion chamber and used as a heat source for the reforming reaction in the reformer, etc. Use as
[0004]
On the other hand, an operation has also been proposed in which hydrogen gas containing a large amount of impure gas accumulated in the fuel cell is periodically purged outside the system. If the hydrogen exhaust gas is not discharged outside the system and hydrogen is completely consumed in the fuel cell, the impure gas contained in the hydrogen gas is concentrated in the fuel cell, and the concentrated impure gas is This is because the supply of hydrogen becomes impossible when it accumulates in the interior, resulting in a decrease in power generation efficiency, an increase in hydrogen consumption, and unstable performance. The ratio of hydrogen discharged to the outside by the purge operation seems to be slightly different depending on the fuel cell manufacturer or the like, but about 10 to 15% of excess hydrogen gas is consumed.
[0005]
In this way, if the hydrogen gas discharged from the hydrogen exhaust gas line of the fuel cell contains a large amount of impure gas, it cannot be recycled to the fuel cell as it is. Therefore, it can be burned and recovered as heat or exhausted. It was. As a result, even if the power generation efficiency of the fuel cell is high, surplus hydrogen gas is required for purging, etc. due to the decrease in hydrogen gas purity in the fuel cell stack. In this case, there is a technical problem that the amount of power generation relative to the hydrogen gas supply amount cannot be increased.
[0006]
Furthermore, it has also been proposed to reuse hydrogen exhaust gas containing hydrogen gas that has not been consumed in the fuel cell as fuel for the fuel cell. For example, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-353534, an anode recycling line that recycles part of the anode exhaust gas to the reformer outlet side, and an adiabatic reforming that is provided in the anode recycling line and reforms hydrocarbon gas by sensible heat of the anode exhaust gas. Is provided. Thus, the hydrocarbon gas is reformed by the sensible heat of the anode exhaust gas by the adiabatic reformer, and the overall reforming rate can be increased without using excessive steam and reforming heat.
[0007]
However, this anode recycle line supplies the anode exhaust gas again to the fuel cell for effective use. However, the adiabatic reformer supplies hydrocarbon gas (CH4) to the fuel cell as a fuel gas, hydrogen, etc. It is considered that the reforming reaction (steam reforming reaction and carbon monoxide shift reaction) as an endothermic reaction to be converted into methane is avoided in the fuel cell. Absent. In addition, it is equipped with a gas blower for sending anode exhaust gas toward the anode recycling line, and the structure is complicated.
[0008]
This invention was made in order to solve the technical problem in the conventional fuel cell as described above, and introduced hydrogen exhaust gas containing impure gas released from the fuel cell into a container containing a hydrogen storage alloy, The purpose is to separate the impure gas mixed in the hydrogen exhaust gas and recycle it after purifying and recovering hydrogen. It is another object of the present invention to reduce the amount of hydrogen gas consumed in the fuel cell by supplying purified and recovered hydrogen gas as fuel for the fuel cell.
[0009]

The water-repellent treatment can be performed, for example, by applying a water-repellent polymer as a treatment liquid in an appropriate solvent and spraying it onto the hydrogen storage alloy.

The catalyst for reforming the hydrogen exhaust gas stored in the pretreatment device 6 mainly removes oxygen and carbon monoxide, which can be poisoning components, in order to prevent poisoning of the hydrogen storage alloy. An oxygen removal catalyst (for example, a catalyst in which palladium is supported on an alumina support) causes oxygen contained in the hydrogen exhaust gas to react with hydrogen to form moisture as shown in chemical formula (1). In addition, a carbon monoxide removal catalyst (for example, a catalyst in which palladium, platinum, or the like is supported on an alumina support) is used to react carbon monoxide contained in the hydrogen exhaust gas with hydrogen as shown in chemical formula (2) to generate methane, Moisturize. However, removal of oxygen and carbon monoxide can be omitted when at least one of these components in the hydrogen exhaust gas is in a trace amount.

The adsorbent adsorbs water vapor, which is a gas that lowers the hydrogen storage capacity of the hydrogen storage alloy, and dehumidifies the adsorbent, for example, using an adsorbent such as alumina or molecular sieves. . When the amount of moisture to be dehumidified is large, cooling with a refrigerator or the like is required, but waste heat (150 ° C. or higher) of the refrigerator can also be used for regeneration heating of the adsorbent. Further, it is not impossible to connect the upstream end portion of the bypass line 23 to the

The hydrogen exhaust gas in which the poisoning gas has decreased is subsequently allowed to flow into the hydrogen purifier 5, and the hydrogen contained in the hydrogen exhaust gas is stored in the hydrogen storage alloy for purification and recovery. Since the hydrogen exhaust gas is sucked by hydrogen being stored in the hydrogen storage alloy, an air supply device such as a gas blower is not required. At this time, the hydrogen purification device 5 is cooled by air, and the hydrogen storage alloy, which is an exothermic reaction, is performed on the hydrogen storage alloy to perform hydrogen purification. Air cooling of the hydrogen purifier 5 can be effectively performed by driving a fan (not shown). At this time, the

【The invention's effect】
As understood from the above description, the fuel cell including the hydrogen recovery device according to the present invention can provide the following effects.
According to the first aspect of the invention, the hydrogen gas purified and recovered from the hydrogen exhaust gas discharged during the operation of the fuel cell can be recycled and effectively used. In addition, since the impurity gas present in the hydrogen exhaust gas of the fuel cell is removed to purify the hydrogen gas, a problem of harmful gas release during recycling is unlikely to occur.
[0042]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the hydrogen to be purified and recovered is supplied to the hydrogen purifier as fuel for the fuel cell, so that the amount of hydrogen consumed during operation of the fuel cell is greatly reduced and the hydrogen for the fuel cell is supplied. As a result, the amount of hydrogen gas taken out from the apparatus can be reduced, and the fuel cell can be operated continuously for a long time. Power for recycling hydrogen gas to be recycled can be due to exhaust heat exhausted from the fuel cell,
Power can be reduced, resulting in a highly efficient fuel cell system.
[0043]
According to the invention of
[0044]
According to the invention of claim 4, hydrogen exhaust gas that has passed through a pretreatment device containing at least one of an adsorbent that adsorbs a gas that lowers the hydrogen storage capacity of the hydrogen storage alloy or a catalyst that is reformed is hydrogenated. Since it introduce | transduces into a refiner | purifier, it becomes possible to suppress the fall of the hydrogen storage capability of the hydrogen storage alloy accommodated in a hydrogen refiner | purifier, or to make a hydrogen purifier collect | recover sufficient amount of hydrogen.
[0045]
According to the fifth aspect of the present invention, the hydrogen purifier is provided by detour, and the detour line for supplying the hydrogen exhaust gas of the fuel cell as fuel for the fuel cell is provided. Can be supplied directly. As a result, the frequency of use of the hydrogen purifier is reduced, and long-term use is possible while suppressing deterioration of the hydrogen storage alloy to be accommodated.
