Abstract
【解決手段】 色度座標、経時輝度安定性及び輝度効率が異なる複数種のOLED材料を同定し、所定の色度座標及び輝度を有する白色点を含むピクセルを得るために使用される複数種のOLED材料からなる組合せの複数について表示寿命を概算し、そしてその寿命が最長となる組合せを選択する各工程を含む、改良されたカラーOLED表示装置の製造方法。

上式中、Iは各サブピクセルを駆動するのに要する電流密度を表わし、Lは先に30で算出した表面輝度を表わし、そしてaとbはOLED材料毎に異なる定数である。次いで、これらの関数を使用して、選ばれた目標白色点及び輝度を表示するため各サブピクセルを駆動するのに要する目標電流密度を算出する(34)。

本発明の有機EL要素の電子輸送層70を形成するのに用いられる好適な薄膜形成性材料は、オキシン(通称8-キノリノール又は8-ヒドロキシキノリン)自体のキレートをはじめとする、金属キレート化オキシノイド系化合物である。当該化合物は、電子の注入・輸送を助長し、高い性能レベルを発揮すると共に、薄膜加工が容易である。オキシノイド系化合物の例は既述した通り。

c)該寿命が最長となる組合せを選択する
