【0066】

“Threshold” may be set to two values. For example, the first threshold value is set so that the positions of the golf ball and the marker can be detected, that is, the red color has an appropriate size. The second threshold value is set so that the outer contours of the golf ball and the club head can be detected, that is, the red color is the size of the golf ball and the club head.
[0036]
In step S104, when the "RUN" button displayed on the toolbar of the screen is clicked, a state of waiting for a trigger signal is established. In a state of waiting for a trigger signal, the
[0037]
When a user swings a golf club and hits a golf ball, a trigger signal is generated. When the trigger signal is generated, the process proceeds to step S105, where the image is analyzed.
[0038]
The analysis of the image in step S105 will be described with reference to FIG. In step S201, labeling is performed to recognize the golf ball and the club head in the image. First, the image processing area set in step S101 in FIG. 4 is divided into meshes, and each mesh is binarized. For example, when the brightness of the mesh is larger than the threshold set in step S103, it is set to 1, and when the brightness is equal to or smaller than the threshold, it is set to 0. If all the meshes are 0, detection becomes impossible.
[0039]
Only meshes of which the upper, lower, left, and right neighboring meshes have the same value among the meshes having a luminance larger than the threshold value are connected. A number is assigned to the mass of the mesh formed by the connection. The three chunks are selected in order from the larger chunks of the plurality of meshes. The largest chunk may represent a golf ball, and the other two chunks may represent two markers on the club head.
[0040]
For example, a golf ball having a mesh mass of 100 pixels or more may be recognized as a golf ball. A substantially circular object having a radius of 6 pixels or more or a square having 12 pixels on one side may be identified as a golf ball.
[0041]
For example, if the distance between the remaining two masses is 5 pixels or less, it cannot be identified as a club head marker. If the contrast is too strong, there is a possibility that something other than the marker is erroneously recognized.
[0042]
In step S202, the shape and position of the golf ball are recognized. A golf ball usually has an oval image instead of a circle because of a shadow. In this example, the image of the golf ball is recognized not by a circle but by elliptic approximation. Details of step S202 will be described later with reference to FIG.
[0043]
In step S203, the position of the marker of the club head is recognized. The x coordinate of the center position of the marker is obtained as the midpoint between the leftmost value and the rightmost value of the two mesh clusters, and the y coordinate of the center position of the marker is the top value of the two mesh clusters. And the midpoint of the lowest value.
[0044]
In step S204, it is determined whether the above-described processing has been completed for all of the 30 frames. If the above processing has been completed for all images, the process proceeds to step S205.
[0045]
In step S205, the initial position of the golf ball serving as the origin and the diameter of the golf ball are calculated. The image of 15 frames before the club head collides with the golf ball is used. In each of the 15 frames of images, the center position of the golf ball is determined, and the point where the center position is most concentrated is set as the origin. The diameter of the golf ball is determined for each of the 15 frames, and the average value is defined as the diameter. Since the image of the golf ball includes a shadow, it is recognized as an ellipse. Therefore, the diameter is determined as the major axis of the ellipse.
[0046]
If the diameter of the golf ball is known, its value may be input in advance. In this case, the dimensional ratio between the image and the real world is determined. As a result, it is possible to calculate the speed of the later hit ball and the like.
[0047]
In step S206, the golf ball is confirmed again. The diameter of the golf ball in each of the 30 frames is compared with the diameter determined in step S205. If the deviation between the two diameters is 10% or more, it is determined that the golf ball could not be detected. However, the case where the images of the golf ball and the club head are fused is excluded.
[0048]
In step S207, a composite image is created. First, an image that does not include the golf ball and the club head is extracted from the image of 30 frames, and is taken as a background image. As described above, the last image of the 30 frames may be used. Next, an image including the golf ball is extracted from the image after the collision, a portion of the golf ball is cut out from each image, and the portion is copied to a background image.
[0049]
In this example, since the golf ball is approximated by an ellipse, an accurate golf ball shape can be obtained. The origin, the X axis, and the Y axis obtained in step S205 are written in the background image.
[0050]
FIG. 7 shows an example of a composite image obtained by image signals from the horizontal high-
In step S208, the trajectory, speed, and trajectory angle of the golf ball are calculated. In order to determine the trajectory of the golf ball, as shown in FIG. 7, the center position of the golf ball is determined from the composite image, and the line segments O-Px and O-Py connecting the origin O and the center position of the golf ball are defined by the x-axis and Find the angle to the y-axis. The center position of a plurality of golf balls is obtained, the angle formed by the line connecting the origin O and the center position with the x-axis and the y-axis is obtained, and the mode or average value thereof is obtained, and the mode value or the average value is obtained. , Bh. When the trajectory angle is obtained, a trajectory of the golf ball is created on the composite image.
[0051]
Next, the speed of the golf ball is determined. First. A conversion coefficient between the distance [pixel] on the composite image and the distance [m] in the real world is obtained. It is assumed that the diameter of the golf ball on the composite image is L [pixel]. When the actual diameter of the golf ball is 0.043 [m], 1 [pixel] on the composite image is equivalent to 0.043 / L [m]. Therefore, the speed hs of the golf ball in the horizontal plane is obtained by the following equation.
[0052]
(Equation 1)
[0053]
Here, M is the distance [pixel] between the center positions of the two golf balls on the synthesized image, T is the time [sec] between the center positions of the two golf balls on the synthesized image, and L is the distance on the synthesized image. It is the diameter [pixel] of the golf ball. When two golf balls are obtained from images of two adjacent frames, T may be set to 1/360 seconds.
The launch angle ba of the golf ball is obtained by the following equation.

[0061]
An example of the process of recognizing the shape and position of the golf ball in step S202 will be described with reference to FIG. As described above, the image of a golf ball is usually not a circle but an ellipse due to a shadow. In this example, since the shape of the golf ball is recognized by elliptic approximation, a more accurate shape can be obtained. The details of the elliptic approximation method are described in Japanese Patent No. 2600114 and Japanese Patent Application No. 2001-114581.
[0062]
First, in step S301, an edge is detected from a contour of a golf ball detected by labeling, and an ellipse approximation of the golf ball is performed. A rectangular area larger than the outline of the golf ball is set. The pixels in the rectangle are searched from top to bottom, and the coordinates of the first pixel exceeding the threshold value in each column are registered. Next, the pixels in the rectangle are searched from the bottom to the top, and the coordinates of the first pixel exceeding the threshold value in each column are registered. Thus, ellipse approximation is performed using the coordinates obtained by scanning from two directions, and the parameters of the ellipse are calculated.
[0063]
In step S302, a more precise ellipse approximation of the golf ball contour is obtained. Using the ellipse parameters obtained in step S301, the vicinity of the contour of the golf ball is detected. The edge detection detects a position where the change of the pixel is the largest near the threshold. Thus, an elliptical approximation of the golf ball is obtained by more accurate edge detection.
[0064]
In step S303, the outline coordinates of the ball are added again using the ellipse approximation of the golf ball obtained in step S302. In step S304, the same processing as the processing in steps S301 and S302 is performed from the left and right directions.
[0065]
In step S304, when the vertical dimension of the obtained ellipse is t and the horizontal dimension is k, the value of the ratio t / k between them is t / k = 0.75 to 1.5. Check. This is to eliminate the case where the club head and the golf ball are integrally recognized. The presence or absence of the golf ball in each image, the center position of the golf ball, parameters when the golf ball is approximated by an ellipse, the radius of the golf ball, and the like are obtained and recorded.
