Description
【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus, and more particularly, to an image forming apparatus that conveys a sheet using a conveyance belt.
[0002]
[Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent No. 2897960 [Patent Document 2] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 7-53081
[Prior art]
As an image forming apparatus (or also referred to as an image recording apparatus) such as a printer, a facsimile, and a copying apparatus, for example, an ink jet recording apparatus is known. The ink jet recording apparatus means a sheet (including OHP, etc., to which ink droplets, a developer, etc. can be attached) from an ink recording head to a sheet (paper or the like). The recording is performed by ejecting ink at high speed, high-definition images can be recorded at high speed, running costs are low, noise is low, and multicolor ink is used. It has advantages such as easy recording of a color image.
[0004]
As the ink jet head, a piezoelectric actuator such as a piezoelectric element, a thermal actuator utilizing a phase change due to film boiling of a liquid using an electrothermal transducer such as a heating resistor, a shape memory alloy actuator using a metal phase change due to a temperature change, 2. Description of the Related Art There is known an electrostatic actuator using an electrostatic force or the like as an energy generating unit for discharging ink.
[0005]
By the way, in the ink jet recording method, when an image is formed in order to attach ink to paper, there is a phenomenon that the paper is stretched by moisture contained in the ink. This phenomenon is called cockling. This cockling causes the paper to undulate, and the positions of the nozzles of the head and the surface of the paper change from place to place. If the degree of cockling becomes worse, in the worst case, the paper may come into contact with the nozzle surface of the head and stain the nozzle surface of the head, or the paper itself may become dirty, deteriorating the image quality. The impact position of the ink droplet may be shifted due to the influence.
[0006]
For this reason, in the ink jet recording apparatus, printing is performed on a platen provided with a dent that absorbs cockling of paper, and a spur having a protrusion on the periphery is provided as a presser for the paper, but scratches on the image due to this spur are generated. Is also a problem.
[0007]
Further, in a conventional ink jet recording apparatus, paper is fed by rollers, and two sets of rollers (one is a combination of a spur and a roller as described above) are arranged with a print area interposed therebetween. However, in this configuration, the paper feeding accuracy can be guaranteed only when the paper is engaged with the two sets of rollers.
[0008]
However, in recent years, since an increase in the image printing area is desired, a state in which the paper feeding accuracy cannot be assured in order to secure the printing area, that is, one of the two roller pairs is used. There is also an ink jet recording apparatus in which printing is performed in a state where only the sheet is bitten. However, in the state where the sheet is bitten by only one roller pair, if the sheet floats, it cannot be dealt with, or the feeding accuracy cannot be guaranteed because the sheet conveyance force cannot be secured, so the image quality also deteriorates. Problem arises.
[0009]
In pursuit of higher image quality in the ink jet recording apparatus, the accuracy of the landing position of the ink droplet on the paper is required, and it is necessary to improve the flatness of the paper. In the case, paper fibers swell due to the moisture contained in the ink and deform in a wave-like manner, resulting in a shift in the dot landing position. So far, it has been found that it takes about 3 seconds or more after the ink adheres to the paper, and the paper is greatly deformed.
[0010]
Therefore,
As described in Patent Literature 1 and
[0011]
here,
Patent Document 1 discloses a paper transporting apparatus and an image recording apparatus in which a voltage applying means is brought into contact with the surface of a charging belt to form an alternating charge pattern on the surface of the charging belt, for example, in a belt shape. Also,
[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
When the paper is conveyed by the charging belt (conveying belt) as described above, the charging belt is configured to be stretched between at least two rollers. However, when the belt is supported by two or more rollers, There is a problem in that a slip occurs between the transport belt and a driving roller that drives the transport belt, thereby lowering the transport accuracy of the transport belt and causing a reduction in image quality.
[0013]
In addition, there is a problem that the suction force due to the electrostatic suction force cannot be efficiently obtained because the conveyance paper is lifted from the conveyance belt. Further, when a roller or the like is used to press the sheet against the conveyance belt, the pressing by the roller becomes a driving load of the conveyance belt, and there is a problem that the accuracy of the stop position of the conveyance belt is reduced and the image quality is deteriorated.
[0014]
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and has as its object to provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming a high-quality image by performing stable conveyance of a sheet.
[0015]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, an image forming apparatus according to the present invention is configured such that a conveyance belt is bridged between at least two rollers, and a roller on an upstream side in a sheet conveyance direction among these two rollers is a driving roller. The rollers have a configuration in which the diameter is larger than the other rollers and the coefficient of friction with the inner surface of the transport belt is larger than the other rollers.
[0016]
Here, it is preferable that a belt guide unit that guides the transport belt from the inside at a position facing the image forming unit is provided, and the guide surface of the belt guide unit protrudes beyond the tangent of the two rollers. In this case, it is preferable that at least two ribs in a direction orthogonal to the transport direction are formed on the guide surface of the belt guide means, and that at least one of the ribs has a width of 5 mm or less.
[0017]
Further, a conveyance guide means for guiding the paper on the conveyance belt to a position where the image formation means and the conveyance belt are substantially parallel to each other is provided on the upstream side in the conveyance direction of the image forming means, and the conveyance guide means faces the drive roller. It is preferable to have a roller pressed and held on the conveyor belt side.
[0018]
In this case, the rollers provided on the conveyance guide means are rotatably held by the conveyance guide means so as to be able to move at least 0.1 mm in the pressing direction, and pressurizing means for pressing a shaft supporting the rollers. It is preferable that the transport guide means is fixed to the main body, and at least the surface of the roller provided on the transport guide means is formed of an elastic material, and the elastic material is formed of an elastomer, rubber, or an elastic resin. It is preferable that at least the elasticity is formed by being softer than the elasticity of the conveying belt with which the conveying belt comes into contact.
[0019]
Further, it is preferable that a second roller is rotatably provided at the most downstream portion in the transport direction of the transport guide means. In this case, the second roller can press the paper to be transported against the transport belt. In addition, it is preferable that a relief portion that does not contact the inside of the transport belt is formed at a position corresponding to the second roller in the guide means.
[0020]
Furthermore, it is preferable that the conveyance guide means is fixed to the apparatus main body member so that the height position thereof can be adjusted with respect to the conveyance belt.
[0021]
