TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a timing chain mechanism for transmitting power of a crankshaft of a vehicle engine from a crank sprocket to a cam sprocket.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In a vehicle engine, as a conventional chain mechanism for transmitting rotation of a crankshaft to a camshaft, there is, for example, one shown in FIG. This is a chain stopper guide capable of swingably supporting a chain damper 113 at one end of a chain slipper 114 and supporting a clamp sprocket 112 for the purpose of improving the assemblability of a timing chain mechanism to an internal combustion engine. A spring 117 is provided at one end of the chain slipper 114 so as to be swingable, and a spring 117 for swinging the chain damper 113 and the chain stopper guide 116 to mutually opposite sides is stretched between the chain stopper guide 116 and the chain damper 113. The cam sprocket 110 and the crank sprocket 112 are supported by a chain damper 113 and a chain stopper guide 116, respectively, and the swing of the chain slipper 114 is restricted by the chain damper 113. Configuration was tentatively assembled unit at before mounting the door 110 and the chain slipper 114 to the internal combustion engine with a chain damper 113 and the chain stopper guide 116 is described. (For example, see Patent Document 1)
As another timing chain mechanism, as shown in FIG. 5, a cover fixing structure for suppressing a vibration of a front cover for protecting a timing chain of a vehicle engine and a plurality of sprockets is known. In this structure, a female screw portion 226b is formed on a head 226a of a bolt 226 for fixing the common chain guide 220 and the tensioner 225, which are disposed contents, to the engine body 201 through the back cover 205, The front cover 230 is directly fastened and fixed to the engine body 201 by screwing a bolt 234 into the female screw portion 226b.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the above technique has the following problems. In the prior art disclosed in Patent Document 1, the timing chain is temporarily assembled so that the cam sprocket, the chain damper, and the chain slipper can be attached to the engine while adjusting the relative positions thereof. It is necessary to separately attach a cover for protecting accessory parts provided around the vehicle engine in a separate process.
[0006]
In the related art disclosed in Patent Document 2, after a bolt 226 for attaching a chain guide 220 is screwed in advance to the engine body, a timing chain is attached to a shaft of the bolt 226, and a front cover 230 of the chain case 204 is further attached to the bolt 234. And screwed to the bolt 226.
[0007]
In recent years, there has been a need to improve the efficiency of engine assembly by assembling peripheral components of the engine including the timing chain mechanism as modules and performing temporary assembly in advance in a separate process from engine assembly. In the prior art configuration, it is difficult to temporarily assemble only the timing chain mechanism separately and separately as a module because the components constituting the timing chain mechanism must be sequentially mounted on the engine mount and assembled. Configuration. Auxiliary equipment such as an oil pump, which is important for driving the engine, is also provided around the timing chain mechanism, so that the chain case can be easily removed after assembly for repair and maintenance. It is required to have a structure.
[0008]
Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and enables a temporary assembly separately from a vehicle engine assembly, and facilitates repair and maintenance even after being mounted on the vehicle engine body. It is a technical task to provide the configuration described above.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
Technical measures taken to solve the above-mentioned problems include a timing chain stretched between a cam sprocket and a crank sprocket, a chain damper for guiding the timing chain, and a tension urging to the timing chain. A timing chain mechanism having a chain slipper having a function and a chain cover, wherein a timing chain mechanism is fixed to a hole formed in the engine body, and the chain cover is detachably fixed by at least one fixed shaft. It is to be.
[0010]
According to this, the timing chain mechanism to which the chain cover is detachably fixed is detachably fixed by at least one fixing shaft fixed to a hole formed in the engine body, so that the timing chain mechanism is installed in the chain cover. Even when performing maintenance of various members or replacing members, it is possible to remove necessary parts by removing only the chain cover without removing the entire timing chain mechanism.
[0011]
Further, a technical measure taken in claim 2 is a timing chain mechanism in which a flange-shaped convex portion is formed on an outer diameter of the fixed shaft.
[0012]
According to this, since the protrusion of the flange-shaped convex portion is formed on the outer diameter of the fixed shaft, the cam sprocket and the crank sprocket are used when the timing chain mechanism is used as a module and temporarily assembled separately from the vehicle engine. Can be prevented from being detached from the module during the process.
[0013]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a timing chain mechanism having an adjustment mechanism for performing phase positioning of the timing chain mechanism on at least one of the cam sprocket and the crank sprocket.
[0014]
According to this, at least one of the cam sprocket and the crank sprocket has an adjusting mechanism for adjusting the phases of the cam sprocket and the crank sprocket, so that the phase of the timing chain can be adjusted by the timing chain mechanism alone.
[0015]
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a timing chain mechanism in which a shaft supporting member for supporting the cam sprocket or the crank sprocket is used as a positioning member when assembling the cam sprocket or the crank sprocket. is there.
[0016]
According to this, the cam sprocket built into the timing chain mechanism or the bearing member that supports the crank sprocket is used as a positioning when the cam sprocket or crank sprocket of the vehicle engine is assembled to the timing chain mechanism. Therefore, it is not necessary to separately perform positioning using an assembling jig.
[0017]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the timing chain mechanism of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a schematic front view showing one embodiment of a timing chain mechanism of the present invention assembled to a vehicle engine. FIG. 2 is a schematic sectional view of a main part when FIG. 1 is viewed from a lateral side. The timing chain mechanism TC according to the present invention is different from the conventional timing chain mechanism assembled in the vehicle engine assembling process, in that the peripheral related parts are put together as a temporary assembly of the module, and the vehicle engine assembling process is performed. It has a structure that allows it to be assembled in advance in a separate step. In the timing chain mechanism TC as this module, the timing chain 1 is mounted on the cam sprocket 5 and the crank sprocket 10 so as to have a predetermined phase. A chain damper 4 and a chain slipper 7 for guiding the timing chain 1 are arranged at the center shown in FIG.
[0018]
Further, a chain tensioner 8 is connected to a chain slipper 7 so that the timing chain 1 is not stretched and detached from the cam sprocket 5 and the crank sprocket 10. The chain tensioner 8 applies an urging force to the chain slipper 7 so as to maintain a predetermined tension on the timing chain 1. The chain damper 4, the chain slipper 7, and the chain tensioner 8 are attached to the chain cover 11, and guide the timing chain 1. The chain damper 4 has a substantially L-shaped cross section, and prevents the wound timing chain 1 from moving in the rotation axis direction of the cam sprocket 5 or the crank sprocket 10.
[0019]
The fixed shaft 2 for fixing the timing chain mechanism TC to the vehicle engine includes an insertion portion 15 that is inserted into the vehicle engine body, a guide portion 16 that holds the chain damper 4 and the chain slipper 7, a chain damper that is temporarily assembled. In order to prevent the chain slipper 7 and the chain slipper 7 from coming off in one axial direction, the shaft slipper 7 includes a flange portion 17 which is a flange having a diameter larger than the fixed shaft diameter and a bolt portion 18 fastened by a nut.
[0020]
FIG. 3 shows an embodiment of the fixed shaft 2. As shown in FIG. 3A, the flange portion 17 may be formed by a separate member, or may be formed by an integral member as shown in FIGS. 3B and 3C. In addition, any other structure may be used as long as the insertion portion, the guide portion, the flange portion, and the bolt fastening portion can be configured functionally.
[0021]
Next, a procedure for assembling the timing chain mechanism TC as a module in a process different from that of the vehicle engine in advance will be described. The timing chain mechanism TC is fixed to the vehicle engine main body by a fixed shaft 2 as a module of a temporary assembly. Therefore, the camshaft 6 and the crankshaft 9 of the vehicle engine must be positioned in advance so that the positions of the cam sprocket 5 and the crank sprocket 10 incorporated in the timing chain mechanism TC match. For this purpose, as one method, a method of assembling using a positioning jig (not shown) so as to match the axial positions of the camshaft and the crankshaft can be considered.
[0022]
In this assembling method, the shafts of the positioning jig corresponding to the respective shafts are first inserted into the corresponding positions of the chain cover 11. In the configuration of FIG. 1 of the present invention, instead of the shaft by the positioning jig, the fixing bolt 13 is inserted into the chain cover 11 and the shaft is changed to the camshaft-side shaft. Next, the cam sprocket 5 is attached to the fixing bolt 13, and the crank sprocket 10 is attached to the shaft of the positioning jig. Thereafter, the timing chain 1 is mounted on the cam sprocket 5 and the crank sprocket 10. After assembling the chain damper 4 and the chain slipper 7 serving as a chain guide to the chain cover 11, the chain tensioner 8 is connected to the chain slipper 7. Before the timing chain 1 is stretched by the chain tensioner 8, the phase adjustment between the cam sprocket 5 and the crank sprocket 10 is adjusted. As a structure, the positioning keyways of the camshaft 6 and the cam sprocket 5 that have been positioned in advance are set to predetermined positions, and the crankshaft 9 and the crank sprocket 10 are further positioned.
[0023]
When the cam sprocket 5 and the crank sprocket 10 are positioned at predetermined positions, the timing chain 1 is stretched. At this time, since the flange portion 17 of the fixed shaft 2 attached to the chain cover 11 is formed in advance, the timing chain 1 does not come off even before the timing chain mechanism TC is assembled to the vehicle engine body. The above cam sprocket 5 may be configured with variable valve timing (commonly called VVT).
[0024]
In the above configuration, only the cam sprocket 5 is supported by the fixing bolt 13. However, if the crank sprocket 10 is supported by another fixing bolt connected to the crankshaft 9 in advance, the set A configuration that does not require the use of a mounting jig can be realized.
[0025]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the timing chain, the cam sprocket, the chain damper, the chain slipper, and the chain cover of the timing chain mechanism are integrally formed as a so-called module separate from the vehicle engine body. For example, since at least one of the cam sprocket and the crank sprocket has an adjusting mechanism for adjusting the phases of the cam sprocket and the crank sprocket, the phase of the timing chain can be adjusted by the timing chain mechanism alone.
[0026]
Further, it can be used for positioning at the time of assembling by utilizing the built-in shaft support member. By realizing the above configuration, the timing chain mechanism can be manufactured as a module as a temporary assembly in a separate process in advance, so that the assembly process of the entire engine is simplified and the assembly process of the engine body can be shortened. In addition, since the chain cover, which is configured as a part of the module, can be attached and detached only by loosening the fixed shaft after assembly to the vehicle body, maintenance of auxiliary parts of the vehicle engine is easy. Has a great effect.
