Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a torque limiter for suppressing a torque to a predetermined value, and more particularly to a torque limiter used in a paper feeding path (paper feeding device) of an image forming apparatus such as a printer or a copying machine.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Generally, in an image forming apparatus, when printing (image formation) on a recording medium (for example, recording paper), recording is performed from a paper feeding device to a printing unit (for example, a nip portion between a photosensitive drum and a transfer drum). The medium is conveyed, and the image is transferred to the recording paper. However, when the recording paper is transported to the printing unit by the paper feeding device, the recording paper may be overlapped and transported to the printing unit. In other words, the next recording paper (the second recording paper) may be conveyed to the printing unit while being superimposed on the recording paper on which printing is to be performed. In some cases, printing is not performed satisfactorily (in other words, an image for one page may be printed across two recording sheets).
[0003]
In order to prevent such a problem, the paper feeding device is provided with a separation roller for suppressing conveyance of the second recording paper, and the separation roller is used to separate the first recording paper (printing). And the second recording paper (the next recording paper) are separated to suppress the conveyance of the second recording paper. Such a separation roller is provided with a torque limiter to stabilize the torque. The torque limiter has a cylindrical member rotatably disposed and a coil spring disposed on the outer periphery of the cylindrical member, and the coil spring is locked by a roller. Then, the torque value is defined according to the friction between the coil spring and the tubular member.
[0004]
By the way, in recent years, due to the downsizing of the image forming apparatus, it is necessary to make the torque limiter compact, and to make the torque limiter compact, it is necessary to tighten the coil spring against the tubular member. However, when such tightening is increased, abrasion is unavoidably likely to occur, and as a result, not only the torque is reduced but also the torque ripple is increased. In particular, when the tubular member is made of resin, the wear becomes severe, and wear powder enters between the coil spring and the tubular member, and the torque fluctuation and the torque decrease become severe. Then, when the torque fluctuation becomes large, non-conveyance or overlapping conveyance of the recording paper occurs in the paper feeding device, and it becomes impossible to perform good printing. Further, when the above-described wear occurs, the life as a torque limiter is reduced, and maintenance must be performed at an early stage.
[0005]
In addition, there are papers that are difficult to separate depending on the type of recording paper due to the recycling of waste paper, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the torque by the torque limiter. The situation that there is not occurs. In other words, in order to convey good recording paper irrespective of the type of recording paper, it is necessary to accurately adjust the torque by the torque limiter.
[0006]
On the other hand, as a torque limiter, a torque limiter described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 9-53648 is known (hereinafter referred to as a conventional example). In the conventional example, a spring hook engaging groove having a different depth is formed in a retainer fitted and integrated with an outer ring, and a plurality of coil springs are arranged in parallel to obtain a sum of friction between the coil spring and the inner ring. The torque is determined according to. The hardness of the coil spring that slides with respect to the hardness of the steel material of the inner ring is reduced so that the wear during rotation is on the coil spring side. Thereby, in the conventional example, wear of the inner ring is prevented, and torque ripple is reduced. That is, in the conventional example, a plurality of coil springs are arranged on the outer periphery of the inner ring, and the hooks at one end of each of the coil springs are locked to the outer ring. In this case, the hardness of the inner ring is set higher than the hardness of the coil spring. ing.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the torque limiter described in the conventional example, as described above, a plurality of coil springs are arranged on the outer circumference of the inner ring, and the hooks at one ends of these coil springs are locked to the outer ring to increase the torque. However, there is a problem that the structure becomes complicated due to the mounting of a plurality of coil springs.
[0008]
Further, in the torque limiter described in the conventional example, although the hardness of the inner ring is made higher than the hardness of the coil spring to prevent wear of the inner ring, the torque of the inner ring alone is made higher than the hardness of the coil spring. It is difficult to prevent ripple. That is, the torque limiter described in the conventional example has a problem in that it is difficult to accurately define the torque.
[0009]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a torque limiter capable of preventing torque ripple with a simple configuration and accurately defining torque.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, a member extending in a predetermined direction, and a coil spring wound around the outer peripheral surface of the member, and when a rotational force is applied to the coil spring, the member and the coil spring In a torque limiter that generates a torque corresponding to a frictional force generated therebetween, an iron-based sintered alloy is used as the member, and the surface hardness of the member is different from the surface hardness of the coil spring. A torque limiter characterized by being at least 1.4 times and not more than 1.7 times the hardness is obtained. When the material and the surface hardness of the member are defined in this way, it is possible to suppress the torque variation and the torque ripple with a simple configuration and improve the durability.
[0011]
In the present invention, the ten-point surface roughness Rz of the coil spring is set to 1 μm or more (preferably 3 μm or more) and 5 μm or less. When the ten-point surface roughness of the coil spring is defined as described above, the durability is improved. The above-described coil spring can be easily formed by, for example, applying nickel plating to a piano wire.

As shown in FIG. 4, in a torque limiter using a resin (polycarbonate (PC)) as a color material and a similar resin as a spring material, the torque variation, the torque ripple, and the durability are marked with “△”. In a torque limiter using a resin (polyetheretherketone (PEEK)) and using a piano wire (nickel plating) as a spring material, the torque variation was indicated by ○, the torque ripple was indicated by △, and the durability was indicated by ×. .
[0028]
On the other hand, in a torque limiter using a sintered alloy (Vickers hardness Hv500) as a color material and a piano wire (nickel plating: 2 to 4 μm in thickness) as a spring material, the torque variation is indicated by a triangle, the torque ripple and the durability are evaluated. X mark. Further, in a torque limiter using a sintered alloy (Hv700) as a color material and a piano wire (nickel plating: 2 to 4 μm in thickness) as a spring material, the torque variation, the torque ripple, and the durability are marked with a circle. Was.
[0029]
As described above, it can be seen that the torque limiter using the sintered alloy (Hv700) as the color material and the piano wire (nickel plating) as the spring material has good torque variation, torque ripple, and durability. According to the experiment of the inventor, it has been found that when the hardness of the color material is Hv600 or more, the torque variation, the torque ripple, and the durability can be almost satisfied.
[0030]
Next, the durability of the torque limiter was examined by variously changing the hardness of the cylindrical member (collar) 32 and the hardness (Hv) of the
[0031]
As shown in FIG. 5, the durability of the torque limiter having the color hardness of Hv540 and the spring hardness of Hv450 (hardness difference of 20%) is less than 100 hours. Further, a torque limiter having a color hardness of Hv590 and a spring hardness of Hv450 (hardness difference of 30%) and a torque limiter having a color hardness of Hv810 and a spring hardness of Hv450 (hardness difference of 80%) have a durability of less than 500 hours. In a torque limiter having a color hardness of Hv630 and a spring hardness of Hv450 (hardness difference of 40%) and a torque limiter having a color hardness of Hv770 and a spring hardness of Hv450 (hardness difference of 70%), the durability exceeds 500 hours. Less than 1000 hours. On the other hand, in a torque limiter having a color hardness of Hv680 and a spring hardness of Hv450 (hardness difference of 50%) and a torque limiter having a color hardness of Hv720 and a spring hardness of Hv450 (hardness difference of 60%), the durability exceeded 1,000 hours.
[0032]
As described above, when the hardness of the spring material is Hv450 and the color hardness is 1.5 times or more and 1.6 times or less of the spring hardness, the durability exceeds 1,000 hours, and the hardness of the spring material is Hv450 and the color hardness is Hv450. Is set to be 1.4 times or more and 1.7 times or less of the spring hardness, the durability exceeds 500 hours.
[0033]
Subsequently, the durability of the torque limiter was tested by changing the surface roughness of the spring and variously changing the surface hardness of the cylindrical member (collar). FIG. 6 shows the result. As shown in FIG. 6, when the surface roughness Rz of the spring is 3 μm, good durability can be obtained if the color surface hardness is Hv600 or more. It can be seen that when the surface roughness Rz of the spring is 1 μm, good durability can be obtained if the color surface hardness is Hv700. On the other hand, when the surface roughness Rz of the spring was 0.5 μm, the durability was not improved (not good) even when the color surface hardness was changed.
[0034]
In FIG. 6, when the surface roughness Rz of the spring is 5 μm, almost good durability can be obtained if the color surface hardness is Hv600, and good durability can be obtained if the color surface hardness is Hv700. It can be seen that the property can be obtained. When the surface roughness Rz of the spring is 10 μm, if the color surface hardness is Hv700, almost excellent durability can be obtained.
[0035]
Furthermore, the durability of the torque limiter was tested by changing the surface hardness of the spring and the surface hardness of the cylindrical member (color) in various ways. FIG. 7 shows the result. As shown in FIG. 7, when the surface hardness of the spring is Hv300, good durability is obtained when the color surface hardness is Hv450 to 500, and almost good when the color surface hardness is Hv700 or less. Durability can be obtained. When the surface hardness of the spring is Hv450, if the color surface hardness is Hv600 to 700, good durability can be obtained. On the other hand, when the surface hardness of the spring was Hv600, the durability was not improved (not good) even when the color surface hardness was changed.
[0036]
As can be easily understood from FIG. 7, when the surface hardness of the spring is Hv300, the collar has a surface hardness of Hv450 to 700, which satisfies the durability, and when the surface hardness of the spring is Hv450, the collar has a color. Has a surface hardness of
[0037]
As can be easily understood from the above description, when an iron-based sintered alloy is used as the color material and the surface hardness of the collar is equal to or higher than Hv600, the torque variation, the torque ripple, and the durability are improved. At this time, it is desirable to set the color surface hardness to be 50 to 60% higher than the spring hardness. Furthermore, if the surface roughness of the spring is 1 μm or more and 5 μm or less, preferably 3 μm or more and 5 μm or less in ten-point surface roughness Rz, the durability is further improved.
[0038]
That is, a nickel wire (2 to 4 μm) is applied to a piano wire as the

【The invention's effect】
As described above, the present invention includes a member extending in a predetermined direction and a coil spring wound around the outer peripheral surface of the member, and when a rotational force is applied to the coil spring, the member and the coil spring In the torque limiter that generates torque according to the frictional force generated between the coil spring and the surface hardness of the coil spring, the surface hardness of the member is determined by using an iron-based sintered alloy as the member. Since it is 1.4 times or more and 1.7 times or less, there is an effect that, with a simple configuration, torque variation can be suppressed to 10% or less and torque ripple can be suppressed to 5% or less, and durability is improved. There is an effect that can be.
[0040]
In the present invention, since the ten-point surface roughness of the coil spring is set to 1 μm or more and 5 μm or less, the durability can be further improved, and such a coil spring can be easily formed by applying nickel plating to a piano wire. Can be created.
