Abstract

【課題】センターホールを有する透明な基板上に、該センターホールの周囲よりも外側に、少なくとも、反射層と、接着層とがこの順に有し、前記接着層と、前記透明な基板と同一形状の別の基板又は前記透明な基板と略同一形状の別の層とが貼り合わせられた貼り合わせ型の光記録媒体において、貼り合わせ強度が強く、かつ見映えが良好な光記録媒体を提供する。
【解決手段】前記反射層の形成領域の内周縁部及び前記接着層の形成領域の内周縁部のうちの前記センターホールに近いいずれか一方の内周縁部と、前記センターホールの縁部との間の基板上にさらに別の接着層が形成されている光記録媒体である。該別の接着層は、センターホールの周囲に接した状態で、その周囲全周に渡って形成されていることが好ましい。

【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、貼り合わせ型の光記録媒体に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来から、レーザー光により情報の記録再生が可能な光記録媒体(光ディスク)が知られている。この光ディスクは、その代表的な構造は、透明な円盤状基板上に記録層、金等の金属からなる反射層、接着層、さらに樹脂製の保護層(カバー層)がこの順に積層したものである。前記接着層に関して、その機能及び外観上の課題があり、従来より種々の提案がなされている。

特開平10−199042号公報には、基板を貼り合わせる接着層が、記録層あるいは反射層に相当する機能層の外周縁部から内周縁部の範囲内に塗布されていて、接着層の領域を不透明な機能層領域に限定することにより接着剤が外部から見えなくする光記録媒体が提案されている。しかし、内周の透明領域には接着剤が塗られていないため、ディスクの落下に対する強度が弱い。また、ポータブルタイプの録再機など、ディスクのセンターホールをディスク取り付け部に嵌合させてセットする場合や、取り外す場合に、2枚のディスクの隙間が開くような力が加わり接着剤が剥がれてディスクを破壊してしまう場合があった。

また、特開平10−149580号公報には、センターホールの周辺に一部接着剤が付着していないマージン領域が形成され、接着剤がセンターホールからはみ出しディスク表面に回りこむことを防止する光記録媒体が提案されている。しかし、ディスクの強度は強いが、内周の透明部分に接着剤が塗布され、接着剤の領域が外部から見えるため、見映えが悪い。

また、特開2001−118287号公報には、センターホールを有する基板上の所定範囲内の領域に記録層領域が形成され、該記録層領域が反射層によって被覆されている第1のディスクと、少なくとも前記記録層領域及び前記記録層領域の内周から6mm以上内側までの領域に対応する領域が接着剤により接着されて第1のディスクに貼り合わされた第2のディスクとを備えた光記録媒体が提案されている。この構成では、反射層を内側まで形成するのが困難である。

本発明の光記録媒体は、センターホールを有する透明な基板上に、該センターホールの周囲よりも外側に、少なくとも、反射層と、接着層とをこの順に有し、前記接着層と、前記透明な基板と同一形状の別の基板又は前記透明な基板と略同一形状の別の層とが貼り合わせられた貼り合わせ型の光記録媒体において、前記反射層の形成領域の内周縁部及び前記接着層の形成領域の内周縁部のうちの前記センターホールに近いいずれか一方の内周縁部と、前記センターホールの縁部との間の基板上にさらに別の接着層が形成されていることを特徴としている。

前記別の接着層の幅(径方向)は、0.3〜2.0mmとすることが好ましく、0.5〜1.0mmとすることがより好ましい。

本発明の光記録媒体は、センターホールを有する透明な基板上に、該センターホールの周囲よりも外側に、少なくとも、反射層と、接着層とがこの順に有し、前記接着層と、前記透明な基板と同一形状の別の基板又は前記透明な基板と略同一形状の別の層とが貼り合わせられた貼り合わせ型の光記録媒体において、前記反射層の形成領域の内周縁部及び前記接着層の形成領域の内周縁部のうちの前記センターホールに近いいずれか一方の内周縁部と、前記センターホールの縁部との間の基板上にさらに別の接着層が形成されていることを特徴としている。
以下、本発明の光記録媒体について、基板上に、記録層と、反射層と、保護層と、接着層とを有する形態を例にについて説明する。

<基板>
基板としては、センターホールを有し透明な基板であれば、従来の光記録媒体の基板材料として用いられている各種の材料を任意に選択して使用することができる。
具体的には、ガラス;ポリカーボネート、ポリメチルメタクリレート等のアクリル樹脂;ポリ塩化ビニル、塩化ビニル共重合体等の塩化ビニル系樹脂;エポキシ樹脂;アモルファスポリオレフィン;ポリエステル;アルミニウム等の金属;等を挙げることができ、所望によりこれらを併用してもよい。また、第1の基板の材料と第2の基板の材料は同一でも異なっていてもよい。
上記材料の中では、耐湿性、寸法安定性および低価格等の点から、ポリカーボネート、アモルファスポリオレフィンが好ましく、ポリカーボネートが特に好ましい。また、基板の厚さは、0.5〜1.4mmとすることが好ましい。

基板には、直径15mmのセンターホールと、トラッキング用の案内溝またはアドレス信号等の情報を表わす凹凸(プレグルーブ)が形成される。プレグルーブのトラックピッチは、400〜900nmとすることが好ましく、450〜850nmとすることがより好ましく、500〜800nmとすることがさらに好ましい。また、プレグルーブの深さ(溝深さ)は、80〜180nmとすることが好ましく、100〜170nmとすることがより好ましく、110〜160nmとすることがさらに好ましい。さらに、プレグルーブの半値幅は、200〜400nmとすることが好ましく、230〜380nmとすることがより好ましく、250〜350nmとすることがさらに好ましい。

また、記録層が設けられる側の基板表面には、平面性の改善、接着力の向上及び記録層の変質防止などの目的で、下塗層が設けられてもよい。下塗層の材料としては、例えば、ポリメチルメタクリレート、アクリル酸・メタクリル酸共重合体、スチレン・無水マレイン酸共重合体、ポリビニルアルコール、N−メチロールアクリルアミド、スチレン・ビニルトルエン共重合体、クロルスルホン化ポリエチレン、ニトロセルロース、ポリ塩化ビニル、塩素化ポリオレフィン、ポリエステル、ポリイミド、酢酸ビニル・塩化ビニル共重合体、エチレン・酢酸ビニル共重合体、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリカーボネート等の高分子物質;及びシランカップリング剤などの表面改質剤を挙げることができる。下塗層は、上記物質を適当な溶剤に溶解又は分散して塗布液を調製した後、この塗布液をスピンコート、ディップコート、エクストルージョンコートなどの塗布法を利用して基板表面に塗布することにより形成することができる。下塗層の層厚は一般に0.005〜20μmの範囲、好ましくは0.01〜10μmの範囲で設けられる。

<記録層>
記録層は、一般に、追記型の光記録媒体の場合は色素が用いられ、書き換え可能型の光記録媒体の場合は相変化金属が用いられる。追記型の光記録媒体、すなわち色素を用いる場合、使用可能な色素の例としては、シアニン色素、フタロシアニン色素、イミダゾキノキサリン系色素、ピリリウム系・チオピリリウム系色素、アズレニウム系色素、スクワリリウム系色素、Ni、Crなどの金属錯塩系色素、ナフトキノン系色素、アントラキノン系色素、インドフェノール系色素、インドアニリン系色素、トリフェニルメタン系色素、メロシアニン系色素、オキソノール系色素、アミニウム系・ジインモニウム系色素及びニトロソ化合物を挙げることができる。これらの色素のうちでは、シアニン色素、フタロシアニン系色素、アズレニウム系色素、スクワリリウム系色素、オキソノール系色素及びイミダゾキノキサリン系色素が好ましい。

記録層を形成するための塗布液の溶剤の例としては、酢酸ブチル、セロソルブアセテートなどのエステル;メチルエチルケトン、シクロヘキサノン、メチルイソブチルケトンなどのケトン;ジクロルメタン、1,2−ジクロルエタン、クロロホルムなどの塩素化炭化水素;ジメチルホルムアミドなどのアミド;シクロヘキサンなどの炭化水素;テトラヒドロフラン、エチルエーテル、ジオキサンなどのエーテル;エタノール、n−プロパノール、イソプロパノール、n−ブタノール、ジアセトンアルコールなどのアルコール;2,2,3,3−テトラフロロプロパノールなどのフッ素系溶剤;エチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルなどのグリコールエーテル類などを挙げることができる。上記溶剤は使用する色素の溶解性を考慮して単独又は二種以上を適宜併用することができる。好ましくは、2,2,3,3−テトラフロロプロパノールなどのフッ素系溶剤である。なお、塗布液中には、所望により褪色防止剤や結合剤を添加してもよいし、更に酸化防止剤、UV吸収剤、可塑剤、そして潤滑剤など各種の添加剤を目的に応じて添加してもよい。

褪色防止剤の代表的な例としては、ニトロソ化合物、金属錯体、ジインモニウム塩、アミニウム塩を挙げることができる。これらの例は、例えば、特開平2−300288号、同3−224793号、及び同4−146189号等の各公報に記載されている。

結合剤の例としては、ゼラチン、セルロース誘導体、デキストラン、ロジン、ゴムなどの天然有機高分子物質;及びポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリスチレン、ポリイソブチレン等の炭化水素系樹脂、ポリ塩化ビニル、ポリ塩化ビニリデン、ポリ塩化ビニル・ポリ酢酸ビニル共重合体等のビニル系樹脂、ポリアクリル酸メチル、ポリメタクリル酸メチル等のアクリル樹脂、ポリビニルアルコール、塩素化ポリエチレン、エポキシ樹脂、ブチラール樹脂、ゴム誘導体、フェノール・ホルムアルデヒド樹脂等の熱硬化性樹脂の初期縮合物などの合成有機高分子を挙げることができる。結合剤を使用する場合に、結合剤の使用量は、一般に色素100質量部に対して0.2〜20質量部、好ましくは、0.5〜10質量部、更に好ましくは1〜5質量部である。

上記溶剤は使用する色素の溶解性を考慮して単独で、あるいは二種以上を組み合わせて使用することができる。塗布液中にはさらに酸化防止剤、UV吸収剤、可塑剤、潤滑剤等各種の添加剤を目的に応じて添加してもよい。

塗布方法としては、スプレー法、スピンコート法、ディップ法、ロールコート法、ブレードコート法、ドクターロール法、スクリーン印刷法等を挙げることができる。記録層は単層でも重層でもよい。また、色素を用いる場合の記録層の層厚は、一般に20〜500nmの範囲にあり、好ましくは30〜300nmの範囲にあり、より好ましくは50〜100nmの範囲にある。
また、塗布温度としては、23〜50℃であれば特に問題はないが、好ましくは24〜40℃、さらに好ましくは25〜37℃である。

記録層には、該記録層の耐光性を向上させるために、種々の褪色防止剤を含有させることができる。
褪色防止剤としては、一般的に一重項酸素クエンチャーが用いられる。一重項酸素クエンチャーとしては、既に公知の特許明細書等の刊行物に記載のものを利用することができる。
その具体例としては、特開昭58−175693号公報、同59−81194号公報、同60−18387号公報、同60−19586号公報、同60−19587号公報、同60−35054号公報、同60−36190号公報、同60−36191号公報、同60−44554号公報、同60−44555号公報、同60−44389号公報、同60−44390号公報、同60−54892号公報、同60−47069号公報、同63−209995号公報、特開平4−25492号公報、特公平1−38680号公報、および同6−26028号公報等の各公報、ドイツ特許350399号明細書、そして日本化学会誌1992年10月号第1141頁等に記載のものを挙げることができる。

前記一重項酸素クエンチャー等の褪色防止剤の使用量は、記録するための化合物の量に対して、通常0.1〜50質量%の範囲であり、好ましくは、0.5〜30質量%の範囲、更に好ましくは、1〜20質量%の範囲、特に好ましくは2〜10質量%の範囲である。

以上の記録層の説明は、追記型の光記録媒体の場合、すなわち色素を用いた場合であるが、書き換え可能型の光記録媒体、すなわち相変化金属を用いる場合、該相変化金属としては、Sb−Te合金、Ge−Sb−Te合金、Pd−Ge−Sb−Te合金、Nb−Ge−Sb−Te合金、Pd−Nb−Ge−Sb−Te合金、Pt−Ge−Sb−Te合金、Co−Ge−Sb−Te合金、In−Sb−Te合金、Ag−In−Sb−Te合金、Ag−V−In−Sb−Te合金、Ag−Ge−In−Sb−Te合金、等が挙げられる。中でも、多数回の書き換えが可能であることから、Ge−Sb−Te合金、Ag−In−Sb−Te合金が好ましい。

相変化金属の用いる場合の記録層の層厚としては、10〜50nmとすることが好ましく、15〜30nmとすることがより好ましい

以上の相変化記録層は、真空蒸着法などの気相薄膜堆積法、スパッタ法等によって形成することができる。

<反射層>
記録層の上には特に情報の再生時における反射率の向上の目的で反射層が設けられる。反射層の材料である光反射性物質はレーザ光に対する反射率が高い物質であり、その例としては、Mg、Se、Y、Ti、Zr、Hf、V、Nb、Ta、Cr、Mo、W、Mn、Re、Fe、Co、Ni、Ru、Rh、Pd、Ir、Pt、Cu、Ag、Au、Zn、Cd、Al、Ga、In、Si、Ge、Te、Pb、Po、Sn、Biなどの金属及び半金属あるいはステンレス鋼を挙げることができる。これらのうちで好ましいものは、Cr、Ni、Pt、Cu、Ag、Au、Al及びステンレス鋼である。これらの物質は単独で用いてもよいし、あるいは二種以上の組み合わせて用いてもよい。又は合金として用いてもよい。特に好ましくはAu、Agもしくはその合金である。反射層は、例えば、上記光反射性物質を蒸着、スパッタリング又はイオンプレーティングすることにより記録層の上に形成することができる。反射層の層厚は、一般的には10〜800nmの範囲、好ましくは20〜500nmの範囲、更に好ましくは50〜300nmの範囲で設けられる。

<保護層>
保護層は、光記録媒体内部への水分の侵入を防ぐために形成され、透明な材質であれば特に限定されないが、好ましくはポリカーボネート、紫外線硬化樹脂等であり、より好ましくは、23℃50%RHでの吸湿率が5%以下の材料である。
なお、「透明」とは、記録光および再生光の光に対して、該光を透過する(透過率:90%以上)ほどに透明であることを意味する。

保護層の厚さは、1〜30μmの範囲であり、好ましくは3〜20μmの範囲、より好ましくは3〜10μmの範囲である。

前記反射層と保護層とを接着する接着剤としては、光硬化性樹脂が好ましく、なかでもディスクの反りを防止するため、硬化収縮率の小さいものが好ましい。このような光硬化性樹脂としては、例えば、大日本インキ化学工業(株)製の「SD−640」、「SD−347」等のUV硬化性樹脂(UV硬化性接着剤)を挙げることができる。また、接着層の厚さは、弾力性を持たせるため、1〜1000μmの範囲が好ましく、5〜500μmの範囲がより好ましく、10〜100μmの範囲が特に好ましい。

<接着層>
接着層は、主に、前述の基板と同一形状の別の基板又は前述の基板と略同一形状の別の層とを貼り合わせる為に形成される層である。別の層とは、例えば、2枚のディスクを貼り合わせて作製する場合、保護層が該当する。
接着層を構成する接着剤としては、遅効性紫外線硬化性接着剤であることが好ましい。遅効性紫外線硬化性接着剤を用いると、両面記録再生型の光記録媒体を作製する場合に有利である。すなわち、速効性の紫外線硬化性接着剤では、硬化させる際に照射する紫外線が反射層で反射してしまい、紫外線が接着剤まで到達しないため接着剤を硬化させることが困難である。これに対して遅効性紫外線硬化性接着剤ではこのようなことがない。
このような遅効性紫外線硬化性接着剤としては、エポキシ樹脂を主成分とするカチオン硬化型の紫外線硬化樹脂が挙げられ、具体的には、例えば、ソニーケミカル(株)製SK7000、スリーボンド(株)製30Y−292G等を挙げることができる。また、接着層の層厚は、1〜1000μmの範囲が好ましく、5〜500μmの範囲がより好ましく、10〜100μmの範囲が特に好ましい。

本発明の光記録媒体においては、前記反射層の形成領域の内周縁部及び前記接着層の形成領域の内周縁部のうちの前記センターホールに近いいずれか一方の内周縁部と、前記センターホールの縁部との間の基板上にさらに別の接着層(以下、「第2の接着層」と呼ぶ。)が形成されている。図1は、光記録媒体10の接着層形成領域を示す上面図である。図1のハッチング領域Aは反射層と同じ領域に形成された接着層(以下、「第1の接着層」と呼ぶ。)であり、ハッチング領域Bは第2の接着層である。第2の接着層はセンターホール12の周囲に接した状態で形成されている。第2の接着層の幅(径方向)は0.3〜2.0mmとすることが好ましく、0.5〜1.0mmとすることがより好ましい。
以上の第2の接着層により、外観を損ねることがなく貼り合わせ強度を強くすることができる。

次いで、本発明を適用した光記録媒体の変形例を2例挙げる。
図2の光記録媒体10aは、第2の接着層が部分的に形成された点において図1の光記録媒体とは異なる。図3の光記録媒体10bは、第2の接着層が、第1の接着層の内周とセンターホールの周囲との間に形成されている点において図1の光記録媒体とは異なる。図2、図3のいずれの形態においても、外観を損ねることなく貼り合わせ強度を強くすることができる。

以上の接着層(第1の接着層及び第2の接着層)は、スクリーン印刷により、例えば、図1〜図3のハッチング領域A及びBの領域に接着剤を印刷し形成することが好ましい。スクリーン印刷によれば、接着剤を塗布する場合等と比較して、図1〜図3のハッチング領域A及びBの接着層領域を容易に形成することができる。

以上は、記録層を有する光記録媒体について説明したが、本発明はそれに限定されず、記録層のない所謂CD−ROM、DVD−ROMに適用することもできる。

【実施例】
以下に、本発明の実施例を詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれに限定されるものではない。

(実施例1)
射出成形機(住友重機械工業(株)製)を用いて、ポリカーボネート樹脂を、スパイラル状のグルーブ(深さ156nm、幅290nm、トラックピッチ0.74μm)を有する厚さ0.6mm、直径120mmの基板に成形した。

下記色素A2.0gを2,2,3,3−テトラフルオロプロパノール100cmに溶解した溶液を、スピンコート法により前記基板のグルーブが形成された面上に塗布し層厚100nmの記録層を形成した。次に、記録層上に銀をスパッタして約150nm積層し反射層を形成した。このとき反射層形成領域を、内周縁部が直径27mm、外周縁部が118mmとした。さらに、この反射層上に、紫外線硬化型オーバーコート剤(大日本インキ化学工業(株)製、ダイキュアクリアSD−640)をスピンコート法により塗布し、メタルハライドランプで紫外線を照射することにより約20μmの保護層を形成し、厚み0.6mmのディスクAを得た。
同様に、前記基板に色素を塗布せずに銀をスパッタし、その上に保護層を形成し、記録層のない厚み0.6mmのディスクBを得た。

前記ディスクAと前記ディスクBとを貼り合わせて1枚のディスクとして完成させるため、次の工程を経た。まず、ディスクAとディスクBの保護層上に遅効性カチオン重合型接着剤(ソニーケミカル(株)製、SK7000)をスクリーン印刷によって図1に示すハッチング領域(幅d:1.0mm)に印刷し形成した。このとき、スクリーン印刷版のメッシュサイズは300メッシュを使用した。次いで、メタルハライドランプを使用し紫外線を照射した直後、ディスクAとディスクBとをそれぞれの保護層側を貼り合わせ、両面から圧縮した。約5分放置後、接着剤は完全に硬化し厚み1.2mmの実施例1のディスク(光記録媒体)が得られた。

(比較例1)
センターホール周囲における接着層を形成しなかったこと以外は実施例1と同様にして比較例1のディスク(光記録媒体)を作製した。

[ディスクの評価]
(1)落下試験
実施例1及び比較例1のディスクを3枚作製し、各ディスクを10cmの高さから、厚み20mmのステンレス製の板の上に垂直に落下させて、ディスクの剥離の有無を確認した。これを繰り返し行い、各ディスクについて剥離が生じるまでの落下回数を計数した。なお、2枚のディスク(ディスクA及びディスクB)が完全に剥離した場合のみならず、一部しか剥離していなくても、記録層が形成されている部分に剥離が及んでいる場合には剥離ありと認定した。結果を表1に示す。

表1より、実施例1のディスクは50回落下させても剥離が生じなかったが、比較例1のディスクは2〜3回で剥離が生じたことが分かる。

(2)再生機への取り付け耐久試験
実施例1位及び比較例1のディスクに対し、ポータブル型の再生機(ディスクのセンターホールを取り付け部に嵌合させるタイプ)の取り付け部に、取り付け・取り外しを100回繰り返してディスクの剥離を確認した。実施例1のディスクは100回取り付け・取り外しを繰り返しても剥離を生じなかったが、比較例1は反射層と記録層との界面で剥離を生じた。

以上の実施例1と比較例1とにより、本発明の光記録媒体は、貼り合わせ強度が強く、かつ第2の接着層の領域も狭く見映えも良好である。

本発明によれば、貼り合わせ強度が強く、かつ見映えが良好な光記録媒体を提供することができる。

  1. センターホールを有する透明な基板上に、該センターホールの周囲よりも外側に、少なくとも、反射層と、接着層とをこの順に有し、前記接着層と、前記透明な基板と同一形状の別の基板又は前記透明な基板と略同一形状の別の層とが貼り合わせられた貼り合わせ型の光記録媒体において、
    前記反射層の形成領域の内周縁部及び前記接着層の形成領域の内周縁部のうちの前記センターホールに近いいずれか一方の内周縁部と、前記センターホールの縁部との間の基板上にさらに別の接着層が形成されていることを特徴とする光記録媒体。
