Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. NOx貯蔵可能触媒成分を含んでなるリーン−バーンエンジン用の触媒コ ンバーターであって、 NOx貯蔵可能触媒成分が、NOxおよび/または窒素と炭化水素および/ま たはCOとの触媒反応が炭化水素および/またはCOと酸素との触媒反応より優 れた選択性を示すさらなる触媒成分を包含するように構築されていることを特徴 とする、触媒コンバーター。 2. 第1層と第2層とを有する支持化層状化触媒を含んでなるリーン−バーン エンジン用の触媒コンバーターであって、 第1層が、効果的にNOを酸化してNO2および/またはNO3にすることを触 媒するともに、効果的に窒素としてNO3を貯蔵し、かつ、さらに効果的にNO とO2とを放出する、第1番目の白金属元素とNOx貯蔵成分とを含有するもの であり、かつ、 第2層が、効果的にNOを還元してN2にする、第二番目の、かつ、異なる白 金属元素を含有する、触媒コンバーター。 3. 第1層が白金を含有してなり、かつ、第2層がロジウムを含有してなる、 請求項2に記載の触媒コンバーター。 4. 第1層がアルミナ含有ウオッシュコートで担持された白金を含有し、およ びNOx貯蔵成分がバリウムであり、かつ、第2層がアルミナ非含有ウオッシュ コートで担持されたロジウムを含有するものである、請求項3に記載の触媒コン バーター。 5. 第1層のウオッシュコートがアルミナ、セリア、およびジルコニア、必要 に応じてこれらの二種またはそれ以上の混合酸化物を含んでなるものであり、か つ、第2層のウオッシュコートがセリアおよびジルコニア、必要に応じてこれら の混合酸化物を含有するものである、請求項4に記載の触媒コンバーター。 6. 第1層がカリウムをも包含するアルミナウオッシュコートで担持された白 金を含んでなるものであり、第2層がセリア/ジルコニアウオッシュコートで担 持されたロジウムと、第1層と第2層との間に付与されるウオッシュコートとバ リウム化合物とを含んでなる中間層とを含んでなるものである、請求項3に記載 の触媒コンバーター。 7. 排気ガス処理システムを有するリーン−バーンガソリンエンジンであって 、 排気ガス処理システムが請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の触媒コンバータ ーを含んでなることを特徴とする、エンジン。 8. エンジンがガソリン直噴エンジンであることを特徴とする、請求項7に記 載のエンジン。 9. エンジンが全走行または実質的に全走行条件下でλ<1で運転される、請 求項7または8に記載のエンジン。 10. エンジンと触媒コンバーターとの間に装備されたSOx吸収剤もまた含 んでなる、請求項7〜9のいずれか一項に記載のエンジン。 11. エンジンからの排気ガスが触媒コンバーターを通過することを含んでな る、リーン−バーンエンジンからの排出NOxを制御する方法であって、 触媒コンバーターが、NOxおよび/または窒素と炭化水素および/またはC Oとの触媒反応が炭化水素および/またはCOと酸素との触媒反応より優れた選 択性を示す成分を有するものである、方法。 12. リーン−バーンエンジンからの排出NOxを制御する方法であって、 二層またはそれ以上の層を有する触媒コンバーターの第1層で、NOを触媒的 に酸化してNO2および/またはNO3にすることと、および前記第1層でNO3 を窒素として貯蔵することと、 適切な排気ガス条件下で前記第1層からNOとO2とを放出することと、そし て 前記適切な排気ガス条件下で触媒コンバーターの第2層でNOをN2に還元す る こととを含んでなる、方法。 13. エンジンが、λが1未満となるように制御されるものである、請求項1 1または12に記載の方法。
