Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding a skin material uniform in thickness as a whole and also having the uniform touch. SOLUTION: A molding surface is coated with a urethane resin raw material while a mold 1 is shaken around a shaft 5 so that the molding surface to be coated becomes almost horizontal. By this constitution, the drooping or dropping of the urethane resin raw material can be prevented and the skin material having a uniform thickness can be obtained.

In the above-described method of spray coating on the molding surface, the resin material applied along the molding surface flows, and the resin material accumulates in a part of a corner portion or the like. In general, a foam such as urethane foam is interposed between the instrument panel body and the skin material in order to give a soft touch when touched. However, if a part of the skin material is thick, even if foam is present inside, the softness when the skin material is pressed with a finger is partially different, and the commercial value is reduced. .

According to the present invention, there is provided a method for molding a skin material, which comprises spraying a resin material onto a surface of a mold to form the skin material. The resin material is applied to the molding surface while tilting the molding die so that the surface to be formed is substantially horizontal.
In addition, as the resin material, a two-component mixing fast-curing polyurethane resin having fast curing properties is preferable.

After the release agent is applied, as shown in FIG. 1B, an in-mold paint (IMP), which is the outermost surface of the skin material, is applied. IMP aims at light resistance in addition to coloring, and is formed with a thickness of 20 to 60 μm. The main component is an acrylic-modified urethane resin, and the dispersion medium may be water, an organic solvent, or a mixture thereof.

After the IMP is applied, air drying is performed as shown in FIG. 1 (c), and then a urethane resin material is applied to the molding surface as shown in (d). The urethane resin raw material is a two-liquid mixture type of a polyol and MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate), and is mixed in a nozzle immediately before discharge, and starts a chemical reaction immediately after application to cure.
The thickness of this urethane layer is about 0.9 mm.

In applying the urethane resin raw material to the molding surface, as shown in FIGS. 2 (a) and 2 (b), the molding die 1 is rotated with the shaft 5 so that the molding surface to be applied is substantially horizontal. Perform while swinging to the center. Thereby, sagging and dripping of the urethane resin raw material can be prevented, and a skin material having a uniform thickness can be obtained.

Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 1 (e), after the curing is promoted by heating (curing), the mold is removed to obtain a skin material. In order to form the foam inside the skin material, a method is used in which the skin material is set in another mold, and a foamed resin material is placed inside the skin material and heated.

FIG. 3 is a view showing another embodiment of the molding die.
In the above-described embodiment, the mold 1 has a structure capable of swinging in only one direction. In this embodiment, the support 4 is erected on the base 3 and the holder 5 is mounted on the shaft 5 on the support 4. Is formed so as to be swingable, and the mold 1 is swingably supported by the holder 6 via a shaft 7 in a direction orthogonal to the shaft 5. With such a configuration, the molding die 1 can be tilted in an arbitrary direction, so that it is possible to cope with a molding surface having a complicated shape.

According to the present invention as described above,
When forming the skin material by spraying the resin material onto the mold, the resin material is applied while tilting the mold so that the surface on which the resin material is applied is always horizontal. To prevent from flowing and gathering in one place,
A skin material having a uniform film thickness can be obtained. Therefore, when the foam is bonded to the back side of the skin material to give a soft feel, a part of the skin material such as corners does not feel hard and exhibits uniform softness throughout. And contribute to quality improvement.
