【特許請求の範囲】
【請求項1】
複数の伝送アンテナを有し、無線直交周波数分割多重通信システムにおいて信号を送信する送信装置において、
第1及び第2のデータストリームをそれぞれ直交周波数分割多重信号として送信する第1及び第2のアンテナと、
上記第1のデータストリームに組み込まれ、上記第1のアンテナを介して送信される第1のパイロットシンボルと、上記第2のデータストリームに組み込まれ、上記第2のアンテナを介して送信される第2のパイロットシンボルとを生成するパイロットシンボル生成手段とを備え、
その場合上記第1及び第2のパイロットシンボルは、直交周波数分割多重システムにおいて、互いに対応し、同じ周波数及び時点に割り当てられており、時間軸及び周波数軸で規則的に配置されており、
その場合上記第1のパイロットシンボルの少なくともいくつかの対が、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの対応する対にそれぞれ直交する、
送信装置。
【請求項2】
周波数軸上に隣接する上記第1のパイロットシンボルの少なくともいくつかの対は、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの対応する対とそれぞれ直交し、時間軸上に隣接する上記第1のパイロットシンボルの少なくともいくつかの対は、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの該対応する対とそれぞれ直交する、請求項1記載の送信装置。
【請求項3】
上記同じ周波数及び時点に割り当てられている上記第1パイロットシンボルと上記第2のパイロットシンボルとの対応するものは、周波数軸及び時間軸上で、交互に同一となる又は直交するように配列されている、請求項2記載の送信装置。
【請求項4】
複数の伝送アンテナを有し、無線直交周波数分割多重通信システムにおいて信号を受信する受信装置において、
直交周波数分割多重通信システムの送信装置の第1及び第2のアンテナから送信される信号を受信するアンテナと、
上記第1及び第2のアンテナは、それぞれ対応する第1及び第2のパイロットシンボルを送信することと、
その場合上記第1のパイロットシンボルと上記第2のパイロットシンボルとは、直交周波数分割多重システムにおいて、互いに対応し、同じ周波数及び時点に割り当てられており、時間軸及び周波数軸上で規則的に配置されており、また、上記第1のパイロットシンボルの少なくともいくつかの対が、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの対応する対とそれぞれ直交することと、
上記信号からパイロットシンボルを検出し、該検出したパイロットシンボルの処理を行い、該処理に基づいて、上記第1及び第2のアンテナから送信されてきた信号の伝送品質を個別に判定する処理手段と、
を備える受信装置。
【請求項5】
周波数軸上に隣接する上記第1のパイロットシンボルの少なくともいくつかの対は、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの対応する対とそれぞれ直交し、時間軸上に隣接する上記第1のパイロットシンボルの少なくともいくつかの対は、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの該対応する対とそれぞれ直交する、請求項4記載の受信装置。
【請求項6】
上記第1及び第2のアンテナから送信されてくる第1及び第2のパイロットシンボルは、周波数軸及び時間軸上で交互に同一となり又は直交するように配列されており、上記処理手段は、上記パイロットシンボルの隣接する対を処理することにより伝送品質を判定する、請求項4記載の受信装置。
【請求項7】
第1及び第2のアンテナを備える送信装置が信号を送信する無線直交周波数分割多重通信システムにおいてチャンネル推定を実行するチャンネル推定方法において、
直交周波数分割多重通信システムにおいて、互いに対応し、同じ周波数及び時点に割り当てられており、時間軸及び周波数軸上で規則的に配置されている第1及び第2のパイロットシンボルを上記第1及び第2のアンテナから送信するステップと
その場合上記第1のパイロットシンボル少なくともいくつかの対は、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの対応する対にそれぞれ直交することと、
上記第1及び第2のパイロットシンボルを受信装置が備える単一のアンテナにより受信するステップと、
上記受信したパイロットシンボルの処理を行い、該処理に基づいて、上記第1のアンテナと第2のアンテナから送信されてきた上記信号の伝送品質を個別に判定するステップと
を有するチャンネル推定方法。
【請求項8】
周波数軸上に隣接する上記第1のパイロットシンボルの少なくともいくつかの対は、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの対応する対とそれぞれ直交し、時間軸上に隣接する上記第1のパイロットシンボルの少なくともいくつかの対は、上記第2のパイロットシンボルの該対応する対とそれぞれ直交する、請求項7記載のチャネル推定方法。
【請求項9】
上記第1及び第2のアンテナから送信されてきた第1及び第2のパイロットシンボルは、周波数軸及び時間軸上で交互に同一となり又は直交するように配列されており、上記処理手段は、パイロットシンボルの隣接する対を処理することにより伝送品質を判定する、請求項7記載のチャネル推定方法。
