【発明の効果】本発明によれば、自動車のドア開操作時
にウエザストリップのリップ状のシール部の変形に基因
して発生する耳ざわりな異音を、少なくともドアフレー
ムの後部縦枠部に沿うウエザストリップのシール部の根
元部を他の部分よりも硬質材で形成することで防止する
ことができる。一部が硬質材からなるウエザストリップ
は一体押出で得られるから、ウエザストリップの生産性
を低下させ、あるいはコストアップを伴うものではな
い。また、シール部の根元部を硬質とすることで、高圧
洗車時において水圧でシール部が車内側に倒れ込むのを
防ぎ、もってシール部とドアフレームの外周突縁の間か
ら水がリテーナ内に侵入するのを防止する効果もある。

リップにおいて、該ウエザストリップのうち、少なくと
もドアフレームの後部縦枠部に取付けられるウエザスト
リップは、そのサブシール部の根元部を、該サブシール
部の他の部分よりも硬質の材料で形成したことを特徴と
